Hello everyone: Just let me say that i feel relieved to know that i am not the only one going through hell with the Mirena. When i first heard about this birth control I thought it was too good to be true, and after talking the side effects over with my dr I was assured that this was the right choice for me. I have two beautiful daughter 3 and 1, I do want a third child but not until i finish my Masters. So i decided to have the Mirena put in after the birth of my second baby, she was born in Aug07 and i had the Mirena inserted in Oct07. Keep in mind that i had already lost all my baby weight by this time. Well a couple of months later i had already gained 15pounds, i exercise, eat healthy and those 15lbs did not budge. I began getting these awful headaches and by back feels like i am getting an epidural all over again. Acne is a major issue, i thought that maybe it was stressed related, i have never had a issue with my skin until now, i recently discovered dry patches on my arms. I have a regular period every month, but I have a awful discharge with a horrible odor. I have to wear panty liners every day. I feel dizzy all the time and i have to pump my self up just to clean my house. This is not my idea of living a healthy life. I think a lot more research should have been conducted before this product was put on the market, or maybe we are the research? Depression and anxiety attacks are major for me, i don't sleep and when i do i wake up having an anxiety attack. Memory loss is bad i can be in mid sentence and completely forget what we are talking about, that scared me to the point to where I thought i was going crazy!!! I went ot my doctor and told him everything that was going on and he just put me on an anxiety med and did blood work to make sure my thyroid was functioning properly. All test came beck ok!! So I need an explanation of what in the hell is going on. I had none of these issues before i had mirena, but now i feel like I am someone else. I am calling my doctor on Tuesday to schedule an appt to have this evil device taken out of me. My health is far more important!! And I would rather use condoms and prayer as my contraceptive!!! Good luck to all you ladies and i pray you all make the right decision concerning your health~!~

I take a Lactaid tablet in the morning before I drink my coffee or tea with milk in it. I get a sore stomach and feel nausea for about an hour or so, then it goes away. I get progressively better during the day.
When I take a tablet with milk for dinner, it doesn't happen. I am wondering if it is the combination of the Lactaid pill and the coffee and the tea that is doing it. By the way, both are decaf!!
So I am going to cut out the Lactaid and tea and/or coffee in the morning and see what happens.

I started Yaz about 3 weeks ago and stopped it after only a week. Two days into taking the pill I experienced flu like symptoms which for me typically includes shaky, vomiting, hot/cold flashes, & weakness and lasted for a day. At the time I thought it was the flu until I began experiencing similar feelings after another 4 days and the following day I had a sore stomach, similar to a stomach ache but it wasn't my typical stomach ache (I have irritable bowel problems and have to carefully watch my diet so I know a stomach ache when I get one!). Needless to say I stopped taking it after it was ruining my family reunion and everyone told me to stop. Only two days after stopping it and after only being on it for a week, I got my full blown period again only it was much darker and much heavier than normal, and lasted just as long as my normal period. It threw me all out of wack as I had JUST ended my period when I began taking it only the week before. Now that I have been off of it for a few weeks I have noticed my nipples are extremely sensitive--which they never have been like this before..I am blaming it on the Yaz. Will start new BC pill shortly...Hopefully you all have better luck than I did, I was excited until I got pretty much all the side effects! Haha!

I had my Mirena inserted about 4 months ago and I have felt like I'm falling apart ever since. I have experienced the following symptoms: numbness/tingling in arms and legs, EXTREME fatigue, depression, anxiety, acne on back, my hair is thinner, bloating, sore stomach, lower back pain, etc. Most recently, I have had a lot of heartburn and my voice is kind of hoarse. Also, when I went to the doctor, they did a urine test and found that I have a trace of blood in my urine. Along with this I feel like I need to pee all the time, but I seem to have no bladder infection. I am fed up with this device and feeling like total crap all of the time. I have no energy and can't seem to get enough sleep. The only thing good about this thing is that I don't have a period. Of course, my doctor swears all of these symptoms can't possibly be due to the Mirena, but I don't see how it could all be coincidental. Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing these weird symptoms like the bladder issue or the heartburn/hoarseness.

First month I gained 20 lbs was at 600 mg had racing heart rate, restless legs and couldn't get up before I had slept 12 hrs. Medications works well for my bi-polar disorder and I still have my personality which some other medications seemed to have wiped out. Now I am down to 400 mg and am starting to have stomach pain, maintianing the same weight but no more restless legs or racing heart. Seroquel is the only medicine I am one and am starting to get sore stomach in the night. I have been on it for 4 months now.

On the lisinopril, my stomach get more and more irritated. It started to feel like it was made of leather, gettting harder and stiffer. There were positions I couldn't sit in because of the discomfort, for example, sitting in an airline seat was very hard on my sore stomach. This went away quickly at first after quitting lisinopril: after 2 days off the "med" I knew it was the cause. Took about a week before my stomach really started feeling better. Then slow progress from there.
My doctor said it was psychological... When it comes to taking sides between us and the drug companies, the doctors choose the drug companies... FYI, you can see my other posts from Guest0222,Guest00222, Guest000222, etc...
Also note that you should not swallow that icky sticky stuff your lungs are trying to expel. It will irritate your throat and stomach. Its gross but I make an effort to cough at the sink in the morning, so I can avoid swallowing it.
I've recently found that these ACE inhibitor medications can also cause zinc deficiency. I've tried some extra zinc, since I still have lingering stamia, energy, shortness of breath problems. It seems to helpful at about 3x-4x the RDA/DV (recommended daily allowance/daily values).
My routine includes calcium, iron and a good B-vitamin (a B-50), and now zinc. Am getting better, still not back to where I was before the lisinopril, and tremendously slow progress.

My son was put onto 4mg Singulair when he was three years old. He is now six years old. For the past three years he has been a very quiet child, to the point that people commented on how shy and withdrawn he was. He never wanted to go anywhere or do anything. His favorite activity was lying on the couch watching tv. He was always thirsty, frequently went to the toilet, often complained of a sore stomach & had several bowel movements every day, did not sleep well at night, was often grumpy, could not concentrate for very long, was frequently ill with cold-like symptoms and did not really like you to touch/hug him. At the beginning of the year he was diagnosed by an occupational therapist as having low muscle tone. In March of this year, his pediatrician increased his singulair to 5mg. He began having terrible pains in his legs, to the point that he would cry and be unable to walk to the toilet at night. I took him to my GP who did every blood test under the sun and x rays of his pelvis and legs. He could find nothing wrong. The only thing that had changed was the increase in Singulair. I had a look on the internet and found this website. I immediately decreased his dose to 1/2 a tablet for a week and then 1/4 tablet for a week before taking him completely off it. Within a few days our whole family and his teacher and therapist noticed a huge change in his personality! He talks all the time now, he laughs a lot, he loves playing outside and has lots of energy. He teacher says he is much more receptive at school. His occupational therapist says his muscle tone has improved. He has not had one single leg pain since coming off the medication. He is sleeping well at night, his stomach is never sore and he has not been sick at all. Not even one little sniffle!! Best of all he is a normal, affectionate little boy. I feel very angry with the manufacturers of Singulair and with his pediatrician, it feels as though my son has lost three years of being a child. He felt terrible all the time and I had no idea! I have told everyone I know who has a child on singulair to look at the side effects.
