Finally people are telling the truth about this drug.
I am 17 and have had trouble falling asleep since I was two years old. After a few not noticeable prescriptions was prescribed 15mg of Remeron. I have eaten healthy my whole life and never really cared for sweets before this drug. I literally was eating an entire pie every night. I couldn't even think about anything except for how hungry I was. Running out of sweets was honestly what I imagine heroin withdrawals are like. This went on for a few months and I gained about ten pounds. I recently I ruptured my spleen about a two months ago and have been in constant pain since then. Because of the pain I barely sleep at all. 2-3 hours of solid sleep max, so I was prescribed klonopin and went cold turkey on the remeron. I am now pretty much pain free and more social. Is it possible the remeron increased the pain?

I have been on Lisinopril and a diuretic for about 1.5 years -- started with 5mg of lisinopril. At first had a slight cough, but went away. In Feb 2008 routine blood tests were done and my ALT - liver enzyme was slightly elevated to 36. ( last test in 2003 was normal) --- had the test repeated in Aug 2008 and the ALT was up to 41. Doctor was not too worried, not very elevated - but I persisted as to why and she sent me for an ultrasound that showed all was normal for my liver, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys. My pressure was up a bit at the Aug appt - so she increased my Lisinopril to 10mg. I had another liver enzyme test done beg of Oct 2008 and now the ALT is up to 66. I told her the only difference is increasing my Lisinopril and that must be the cause for elevated ALT levels. She is not sure -- I am now being referred to a specialist -- but told to stop taking the Lisinopril for 3 weeks and they will see what the levels are. Have only seen a few mentions of elevated liver enzymes as a side effect -- has anyone else experienced?? My AST levels are normal.

Muscle weakness, pain, tingling

After taking levaquin, I still suffer from muscle weakness, pain, and tingling several years later. My doctor who is one of the top specialists in New York has seen what this drug has done to me and is doing research for an article in a medical journal to put the word out of the horrible side effects of this drug as well as increasing the knowledge to hopefully figure out how to counteract this.

If you are/have suffered similar results, please contact me at ****** and we can discuss how you can send your case information to my doctor for the study and medical journal article. We need more scientific studies and literature out there about this drug and the side effects.

I was prescribed Yasmin for PCOS in 2002. I took it and never had any problems and it made the PCOS easier to live with. This was until 2005. I started having real bad pain in my left side, so I went to the emergency room. They did x-rays and blood work on me. They admitted me to the hospital. They told me I had an infarct spleen. I was in there for almost a full week. My medical doctor told me he thought it was caused from my birth control (I did not take any other meds) and he took me off of it. Well I was having a lot of trouble with my PCOS so I went back to my gyno and told them about being in the hospital and what my medical doctor said. My gyno said they never heard of such a thing and put me back on Yasmin. They said I needed to be on it because it had an ingredient I needed to help me deal with the PCOS. So I went back on it after being off of it for 3 months. Well in May of 2007 I ended up in the ER once again. This time I was having severe headaches. I had never had headaches in my entire life until now. They ordered an MRI and gave me miagrane medication. I had the MRI done and they admitted me to the hospital once again. I saw at least 5 different doctors while I was in there. The MRI showed I had suffered 3 mild strokes (the cause of headache) and the only conclusion they could come to was the birth control again. I have never smoked in my entire life but yet I still suffered from strokes. I now have to take medication for my blood pressure, aspirin for blood clots, and migrane meds daily because of Yasmin. Yasmin is a very dangerous birth control. I also had to have an endometrial abaltion since I can't take any type of birth control. I am only 29 years old and can no longer have children because of this drug. It is very dangerous, I hope if I do nothing else someone will read this and stop taking Yasmin before it is to late for them also!!!

After having been in the hospital taking intravenous antibiotics of all kinds trying to stop an infection of cellulis, and being asplenic (no spleen), I was SO pleased to to be discharged with Levaquin. I had no side effects whatsoever, so clearly every "body" is different. I am allergic to so many categories of antibiotics, I am grateful I can take this one. It finally killed the infection, I am happy to say. I did notice that the 750 mg was a little hard on my kidneys at first, but that went away quickly, and I attributed much of that to having had so many antibiotic concoctions in the hospital. Do note that the Levaquin 750 pill should not be cut in half (there is no "score" mark on the tablet). I cut it in half but learned later I shouldn't have done that. Still, it worked and I'm thrilled and alive thanks to Levaquin.

Was on Prednisone 2 years ago for respiratory problems 30mg. Gained 25 pounds, fat face, felt tired, etc.

However 2 years later, after weaning off Prednisone my muscles ache, joints are most always stiff, esp. hands plus my feet feel numb and my short term memory has not returned to normal----does any one else out there have similar problems. What can be done?

Hello;
After 13 year's of having I.T.P. I was so sick of the many mental and phyical side effect's of prednisone I let the
Doctor remove my spleen.Since that didn't work I even tryed
chemo therapy again to no avail.Every doctor seem's to think prednisone is a great medication. They don't dare tell you of the adverse side effects.I halucinate from it and, have woke
up on a bus I dont even remember getting on.This poisonus
medication has cost me more than I can go into here.People
put on this stuff should be warned and watched, just in case.

I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respiratory infection this year. After taking the medicine as prescibed, my lymph nodes became extremely enlarged. My tonsils were removed when I was 17, yet my throat remains swollen together. I have a metal taste in my mouth. I have no energy. I went back to the doctor for more blood work and was told that I had chronic recurring mono. I have never had mono. I have not taken this drug in about one month. My feet and legs ache so badly that I can hardly walk. I have not been able to sleep through the night. I feel so out of it like I am going through motions of living, but that I am absent, somehow. I have patchy dry skin, which I have never experienced before. I could really identify with the person who said they feel they were hit by a truck. It is impossible to sleep through the night, yet you can't sit up. Do these symptoms subside? I read on here that someone is still having these symptoms three years later. I am not able to live my life. I go to the grocery store and I have to come home and lie down. My energy level is so low that it is affecting every aspect of my life. I had two prescriptions of Levaquin this year. I never knew of the side effects. Why was there no warning. I would have never taken this drug, had I known the consequences. The pain that I am experiencing is not alleviated by any pain medication I have tried. My throat is so swollen that it chokes me at night. My glands remain enlarged and I feel as though my spleen is enlarged. There is no where I do not hurt. I feel so "out of it" that it is hard to drive anywhere or complete any task. Does anyone know if there is a cure for these things?

I was in a very serious auto accident in 1999 that left me in a coma for 2 months. I lost my spleen, 2/3rds. of my pancrease, broken ribs and sternum, broken pelvis and a severe head injury. I am on many medications due to my accident. by losing 2/3rds of my pancrease, I was left with diabetes, very painful periphral neuropathy that I am on pain meds for for life. I lost 40% of my cognative ability. Doctors tried all sorts of drugs to keep me calm preventing panic attacks (PTSD) and tachacardia episodes. The Pyciatrist that I finally was able to see Prescribed me 2 mg. of xanax 3 per day. I must say that this medication was my savior to having a normal life. Before I took this med I took Valium and that did nothing. BUT, this medication according to my Doctor said that it's not for all people, however he said it was custom made for persons in my condition. Without it I cannot get into a car. Have a civil conversation with others. I just sit and stare
all day. Even though I take celexa everyday, it does nothing for me. With the combination of celexa and xanax I am able to live a near normal life. As I said, I have many other physical problems controled by opiods. My life till date has meaning to it. God bless my Doctor that gave me my life back to me. Granted, I hurt non stop but at least I can function. Xanax is a good medication for the few it was entended for like me. I highly recommend it to those that take their meds responsibly.

I have been reading all the postings about Lipitor.
It would appear the reactions from Lipitor has not
been good from all the postings. I have been taking
Zocor 40 mg. for over 5 years now. I have never
had one side effect from Zocor. In fact since being
on Zocor my HDL's have gone up and LDL's have
gone down and Trigs are maintained by diet. I have
a CBC done every 3 months for HDL, Trigs, LDL,
Liver Function and White Count (I don't have a Spleen)
and have always had good results. I have had a problem
getting my LDL's where they should be so had added
Zetia 10 mg. added daily with the Zocor 40 mg. and
the Zetia has corrected the LDL readings. I keep reading
what Lipitor has done to everyone. I am permanently
paralyzed and disabled and can not do the physical P.T.
that many have done when getting of Lipitor. Excercize
is not something I am able to do since I am bed bound and
have limited use sitting up in my electric wheel chair. It
would appear some people are going to have reactions to
different medications. I have always been very careful about
what px's I take. I am on 9 px's daily and Zocor and Zetia
have never had one negative effect on me in anyway. I would
feel after reading all about Lipitor and other Px's like it that
Zocor and Zetia are the only two I can speak of, and for me
they work great. The only thing I would impress on everyone
taking Zocor and Zetia is to when you have a CBC done to have
your doctor always have your Liver Function checked. In my
case I also have the White Count done. On these medications
it is always wise to read up about the medications before ever
taking. I am aware to always note if I was to have any muscel
pains or other side effects it can cause in some people. For my
Doctor who is a Cartiologist, I keep very good communication
with him and myself I keep up with the information about Zocor
and Zetia. After 5 plus years of taking Zocor I feel very blessed
to have a medication that gives the results it provides. I sure feel
for those of you that have had reactions. There are some antibiotics
I have had reactions to and know what it is like to have a reaction
to medications. It is a hit and miss when it comes to medication. I
for one read everything there is to find on any medication before I
put it in my system. Knowledge and self Management of your health
is something we must all do. The days of having your doctor give you
a PX for a medication and getting it filled at the Drug Store and never
asking any questions is long gone. The Pharmacy can surely answer
any reactions with other medications you are taking. I have found
through the years to have all the Medications your taking so when
you go to your doctor they know what your taking. I have 6 Specialist
and I keep them all updated on what each Doctor does and what the
medications I am taking. Any CBC Lab Test done I have sent to my
other Specialist who treat me. You would be amazed how much this
means to the other doctors and keeping everyone informed. As in any
medication, one can have a reaction even if it something you have taken
for years. The chemistry in the body can change at any time. In my case
I am very blessed to be able to take almost any medication to maintain
my life. I know many people who have many reactions to many medications
and for those I surely feel for you. Diet is very important and I stay on a
very basic homecooked meals. Never eating out due to the fact if I could
it is not safe with all the chemicals they put in processed foods. The saying
20 hands have touched your food and plate before it is served when you eat
out is very true. How many washed their hands before it arrived at your table?
So eating at home where everything is home made is the best. I use to be able
to use Bactrim antibiotic but now I can not. I found out I am not able to deal
with any antibiotic with Sulfur in it I can not handle. Cipro is the best in my
case for 2 of the 6 Chronic Illnesses I live with. You can always type in Google
any medication and read about everything about it. Just remember 100% of any
medication are going to have those who had a reaction from. No one is the same
and this is the hard part for any of us when needing to take medication to live.
I hope this has helped in someway and check into Zocor and Zetia. For me they
work great and I have told people about them for years. I have read about the other
medications like Zocor but if you take 40 mg. of Zocor and not 80 mg. you
should not have a problem unless your system reacts to it. The only danger I have
discovered with Zocor is those who took 80 mg. daily. Always remember to
always keep a list of any medications you are taking and always have the doctors
office make a copy so each doctor you go to even your dentist knows what your
taking and keep them updated to any changes. It is your body and you know it
better than anyone. It is also each of our respondsibility to manage our own
medical care because if you don't who will do it for you? You can not expect
all your doctors to do everything for you all the time. For many as I also remember
the days we would go to a doctor and get a shot and on your way. There were not
the medications we have today to help our medical. At the same time common
sense is only logical with taking any medication. ä

I've been taking Levoxyl for about 6 yrs.no complaints However in 12/02 started with 112 mcg from 1mcg. I'm experiening muscle aches and weakness, also noticed my spleen is enlarged and feeling of fullness in my head. My daughter also takes the same dosage as I do and she's had similar symptoms. Could it be the new formulation? Just don't feel well.
