My son is 8 and has been on Singulair for 4+ years. When he was as young as 5 he said he should just throw himself off of our staircase and in first grade, age 7, he told a friend he wanted to kill himself with a knife or scissors. I have taken him to psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians and guidance counselors and none have linked it to Singulair. I spoke with our allergist and he said to take him off of it. He said their office was not notified when Merck changed the side effects last year. Obviously the fat cats at Merck are enjoying their big bucks with little regard for the people taking their drugs, look at the new evidence about Vytorin-it does not work yet they have made millions on it. They knew it did not work 2 years ago. I am so happy that I now know this drug is dangerous. We will stick with our Nasacort, Clarinex and allergy shots, which are helping tremendously. I am planning on getting off of Singulair for my asthma as well. It is not worth it. There are too many reliable drugs out there to waste my money on the suicide drug! I am on Asmanex and may add or change to symbicort. I am so sorry some have already committed suicide because of this drug.

This is the 2nd time I've been on Lipitor, 3 months this time but no more. Both my calf muscle are so sore, I'm walking like someone twice my age up & down my staircase. Walking down is a lot worst & when the calf muscle is in a relaxed position it is very sore to press against. Also I've had neck aches, elbow & shoulder pain & now my fingers are also in pain.
I don't now if all this is related but the pain in my calf muscle is the last straw. I've spoken to my Dr & he's a bit perplexed. He tells me I have to be on Lipitor for the rest of my life. NOT!!**##
I'll stop taking Lipitor & I'll see if I improve & get my 40 year old body back.
True Lipitor reduces cholesterol, but is it worth it!
My cholesterol level was only a bit high, so i think I'll just go back to dieting.

I went to my family dr on Friday March 24, 2006 complaining of a bad sinus infection. I was given samples of Levaquin 750 mg to take, and was sent for a sinus x-ray. On Tuesday March 28, I received a call from my dr's office saying I have a very severe sinus infection and to continue taking the Levaquin 750mg for a total of 30 days. I went to his office and picked up more samples. Last night, March 31, my knees were a little sore. I thought maybe I climbed the staircase one too many times yesterday....total of about 5 flights of stairs. Today April 1, I can barely walk without pain. My knees are so stiff and sore. I feel as if I am going to fall over if I just get out of bed and try to walk. I have to get my balance before I move. I have propoxy pain pills I received from my dr last week which I am taking but it doesn't seem to help too much. I think Tylenol for Arthritis is working better for me. I remember having this exact pain once before and after checking my precription history I found I had taken Levaquin the last time that I had such knee pain. I have no doubt that the pain is caused by the Levaquin. Since all my pills were given to me by the dr and not through a precription, I had no list of side effect to check. I definitely will be contacting my dr on Monday morning.

Hi guys,
-- By jerseymomma | Reply | (7) replies | Private Message meI came to this forum after a client at our firm told me to check out whats happening with singular. I am not a lawyer, but I am a secretary for a med mal firm and I can tell you that we have already started taking these cases. I saw a few questions posted about whether you had to wait 9 months for the investigation to finish, but that doesn't stop you from filing suit. If it were my baby boy, I would switch meds, but if you can't--make sure you journal EVERYTHING. Take videos of outbursts, etc. We have one client who's son is self mutilating after using singular. If thats happening to you, try to document the episodes. Like I said, im not a lawyer, but I work for some so I can answer a lot of questions and I would be more than willing to help. I am so disgusted by what I have read. Please email me if you have any legal questions, etc. If i can't answer them, my boss will and if its a medical question, we have a staff nurse so I will give her a call. Again, I am so sorry for what everyone is going through. I pray to god I can help in some way.
