I am writing on behalf of my elderly parent, Carmela, who has been diagnosed with Lupus since 1991. She has been on a small dose of prednisone since her diagnosis in 1991. In the last several months she has developed very many odd hazey type grey spots all over her body. Dermatologists and doctors are not giving her any answers. They took her off predisone because they THINK this may be the cause. She is on an inhaler and does not like it. She wants to go back on the prednisone as she is feeling chest congestion and lethargy. I read an article on the internet that describes prednisone may cause unusual bruising. I'm not sure if this is what her spots are. They are only the color grey and appear to be beneath the skins surface. They are soft or hazy looking. They are small, about the size of a dime. Has anyone heard of this before in Lupus (prednisone) patience. Any info you have is sure appreciated. S. ******

I took lamasil for about 30 days and then all the skin on my hands began to peel off. A very thick layer of skin began to peel off. About one week later, the same thing started with my feet. I had stopped the lamasil immediately when noticing the initial peeling on my hands. My hands are through peeling now - after three weeks of looking absolutely leperous - but both hands are now extremely sensitive to any heat or steam. Drying my hair is painful if I accidentally get my hand in the way of the air coming from the hair dryer. My dermatologist told me that his office gets about one or two cases a year where ALL the skin will peel off a patient who has been taking lamasil. I go to have my blood tested again this week.

i'm 17. I have extremely bad asthma. and i've had it all my life. i remember being 3 taking nebulizers. i don't know it had gotten better, worse or stayed the same over the years. but i started taking asthma preventers medications because it was really out control. i have horrible allergies all together (which really is all asthma is) but little, tiny things will set asthma attack off instantly, like a short breath from under my bed or even steam from the dishwasher o_O. so i needed to go on preventers. i went from prevention inhalers, pills then finally advair.(and no doubt it works the Best) i was still kinda a kid at the time so it was 100/50, im to young to remember any side effects. but 100/50 wasn't cutting it, so i went to 250/50 , im still on it today. its hard to notice rashes, sinus, mental etc, problems because i have soooo many other allergies. plus im taking medications from them to.
i'd say im pretty healthy though, despite asthma i still play sports and i don't have to use my inhaler THAT much when i take advair it does work good, and i don't really notice all the symptoms/ side effects mentioned in the other comments, its a very good possibility some people are just allergic to advair, i was allergic to some meds i was on, plus, advair is a drug. Every drug Will have some kind of side effects unless its all natural. i question albuterol, i'll find myself reaching for puff when i don't even need it. O_O ! even with the new cfc free inhalers they have out.

Hi my name is Jessica an I was diagnosed with Chrohn's on 3/4/08. I started with the Entcort for two weeks and that did nothing for all the pain and suffering that I had been going through since November. The put me on Prednisone at 40mg a day. I have been on it for about 3 weeks. After 3 day I noticed the moon face because I had lost so much weight because of being so sick for so long. I still hardly eat and am still losing weight. I can't sleep more then 3 hours at a time unless I take something to strong enough to help me fall asleep and if I sleep for more then 5 hours I will be up for the next 20 before I can even try to lay down. I have OCD which I have never had and cant stop cleaning when I feel up to it (kinda like this side affect). I have been haveing awful leg cramps and walking into stuff all the time. I forget what Im doing or were Im going. BUT the WORST PART is the ACNE... I am an Esthetician and I never had anything like this. I mean I have breakouts during the normal times ect... But this is bad an everyday there are more of them. I use really good stuff on my face to begin with an the things I would use on a client are not the same for treating acne that is caused from this drug so those things are not helping either. Right now my makeup covers it ok, but Im going to be on Prednisone for 3 more months before they will start weening me off and then going on 6-MP drug. I cant go 3 more months if this is going to get worst. PLEASE IS THERE ANYONE WHO KNOWS WHAT TO USE TO CONTROL THIS ACNE ????

I started taking Prilosec a few months ago and didn't notice any acute symptoms, but a week or so ago my pharmacy used a generic form of this
( Omeprazole) and I have been having debilitating headaches every day all day. I thought t was from my arthritis but it continues. Yesterday stopped taking Omeprazole to see if it will make a difference.I woke up today with a MAJOR headache. What I have been trying if 2 2mg Valium and some ibuprofen to see if this helps. At least it eases the pain. I have been taking Relpax (migraine pills) but after a while the headaches come back. This is so bad, guess I will have to go back to the doctor if this doesn't work. Anyone else having bad headaches too? Thanks for letting me let off steam.

i too feel the same way about a week before and a week after my period. its a few days before my period right now and i feel my chest is tight. i also have a problem of sore throat and a feeling that my throat is very heavy a week before my period. my back, shoulders and neck ache and i get depressed and feel that i can never be like i was before taking this crap. and all this when i was on yasmin for only 1 month and 2 days extra before i realised that yasmin was causing me severe sore throat. i even had a upper gi series to check for reflux and the GI told me i was fine. i actually feel better if i take some warm steam. if anyone ever finds out the reason behind this feeling of heavy and sore throat please find time to put it up on this site.

LISINOPRIL HAS CAUSED INCESSANT COUGHING DURING THE NIGHT. HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE TO THE POINT OF ALMOST CHOKING. TALKING GOT IMPOSSIBLE. COULDN'T GO TO CHURCH OR MOVIES. MY CONSTANT COUGH WOULD BOTHER OTHERS.
DR TRIED ANTIBIOTICS, CODIENE COUGH MEDICINE, ALLEGRA D, AND I TRIED SUDAFED, BENEDRYL, STEAM, VICKS, AND ANYTHING ANYONE SUGGESTED. NOW I SEE THAT LISINOPRIL IS THE MOST LIKELY CULPRIT. I'M QUITTING IT, SINCE DR GAVE IT TO ME AS PREVENTATIVE, ANYWAY. GOING TO THROAT SPECIALIST TOMORROW.

I just want to say how happy I am I found this site. My doc prescribed Singulair for me after I mentioned a friend of mine takes it for her allergies and it seems to help. My Zyrtec seemed to 'run out of steam' for me so I thought I'd try Singulair (for chronic allergies). I've been putting off taking it and continuing my Zyrtec because I was a bit nervous about trying it for some reason. I'm currently weaning off of Paxil which brings with it its own set of horrible symptoms. After reading through these posts I'm NOT going to take Singulair and stick w/my Zyrtec and wait for my Flonase nasal spray to kick in. I shudder to think what symptoms might have been added to the heck I'm going through with this Paxil w/d! Thank you so much everyone!!!

I think I have been on this the longest of anyone who has posted....18 years. Never really have had problems ( some of the following once in a blue moon; never all at once!) but I have 'em all now! Weight gain, depression, outlandish dreams (exhausting) and/or sleeplessness, diarrhea..almost daily and incapacitating, joint pain, ad infinitum. I am miserable. Have no insurance so I can't undergo anymore testing. I have persistent tachycardia of atrial origin....that's all I know. Having headaches and bet my BP is above normal. I hate this medicine but I know it's dangerous to just stop. Tried weaning off a couple of times but the tachycardia returns full steam, 160+ bpm, pretty fast. I am not much fun anymore that's for certain.
