WOW! I just came upon this site after hearing about the singulair warnings from my dad. I have an 8 year old daughter on singulair, zyrtec, and advair for asthma since she was 5. Thursday night we came back from a meeting with a psychologist for an educational evaluation (recommended by the school). She has had problems with concentration and learning at school since first grade (she started singulair just before entering 1st grade). Prior to that, there was never any issue, in fact she was tested as a very bright girl by a different psychologist (at age 4 for admission into private school). The current psychologist diagnosed her as ADHD-NOS and recommended medication and suggested a speech therapist for a minor speech problem. The ADHD-NOS is because she feels she has ADHD without all the hyperactivity or true attention problems (no "classic" ADHD symptoms). Since we were having her evaluated, we also mentioned her horrible mood changes and temper. She falls apart over little things and gets very angry with her siblings, yelling about how she hates her life and wishing she didn't have a younger brother. Along with this, we were having her evaluated by an ENT for her sleep problems (very restless sleep, falling asleep during the day when others don't- she already has had her tonsils and adenoids removed). My daughter also has a poor appetite (she used to complain on stomach pains). This was just not the same, happy, energetic child I had a few years ago.
The next morning, I called the pediatrician and told him that I wanted to take her off all the meds. I felt they were causing her all these problems and he agreed that they may be. We have decided to take it one step at a time. The pediatrician feels it may be all interrelated. I am so shocked to see the number of kids with the same problems! I wonder how many of these kids are being diagnosed as ADD/ADHD because of these meds? It never occurred to us that these meds could be causing her so many problems over the years. As parents, we assumed her problems were just because of sibling rivalry, a picky eater, boredom at school, etc. It all makes sense now. My husband is a cardiologist trained at Hopkins and Harvard and it never occured to him that these meds could do this to a child until Thursday night when we were told to give MORE meds to our daughter. Hopefully, we will see improvement in our child and that no long lasting damage has been done.

I was prescribed a 4 week treatment of Levaquin for "Lingual Tonsillitis", which was mis-diagnosed by my internist and it wasn't until a month later my ENT was able to diagnose by doing a scope procedure. He prescribed Levaquin for me and I've been on it since December 9, 2006 and last night and this morning I couldn't walk. I had to go to work with a cane. It's been too painful to sit for any length of time. I had to start walking down the stairs one step at a time. I called my ENT and asked, at first, could this severe leg pain be a side effect of the medication and while I was waiting for a return call I side a google search and found similar stories of leg and joint pain. I called the ENT's office again and stated what I had found on the internet and wanted to be taken off the medication and given something else for the remaining 11 days of treatment. I got a call back from the ENT's assistant stating I should stop the medication and wait until it is out of my system before prescribing something else for my throat infection. While taking the medication initially, I had the constant need to stretch my legs and thought I just hadn't been walking enough and need to exercise more. Then I just started putting 2 and 2 together and realized this pain I'm experiencing must be from the medication...because I've never really had any problem with leg pain. I'm so angry for not getting this information sooner. I originally did a google search for "Levaquin" when I first got the prescription and got the same info I was given by the pharmacy...then today I did a search for "Levaquin Side Effects" and got a completely different list of sites. Now I know that putting in the name of the medication alone isn't enough information. Now I know better.

hi abs528, i am starting to feel better but i have learnt not to take anything for granted i just take it one step at a time,i still wake up with a sore throat most days and still get bad headaches. i will have been off yasmin for 2 weeks on monday. my anxiety levels have dropped quite a lot,i used to have days when i would feel really scared all the time but it does not seem as bad now, i have a long way to go because i have felt like that for a year i had developed a mild case of agoraphobia which is a real problem as i have 2 children and i feel terrible that i have stopped taking them out to fun places as i was always worried i would have a panic attack, but now i feel stronger hopefully i can overcome those once and for all...i am going to do my best! i just wish i had found this site a year ago when all my symptoms atrted,i would have stopped taking yasmin immediately,i only started taking it because my skin kept braking out in spots after i stopped breast feeding my youngest,i wish i had just tolerated the spots.

I have been on Lipotor for several years. I am almost 60 years of age, It is easy at my age to put "changes" in your physical being down to "old" age. Could some or all of these changes be symptons of Lipitor damage?
Gradually I seem to be losing the ability to walk. My legs feel as if they are encased in cement. Getting up from bed or a chair, I stumble around until my muscles seem to get moving. Sometimes I seem to get vibrating spasms in my legs.
My whole body has become stiff. I walk from side to side with my arms bent like a wooden soldier. I have lost my elasticity of movement. My wife looking at me walking has wondered what is wrong with me.
Stepping up onto a step ladder one step at a time, I feel like my legs are too weak to handle my body weight. I thought it was due to my increased weight. I had not considered that it was a breakdown of muscle caused by Lipitor. I continue to go to the gym and do not think that my eating habits have changed but I seem to be putting on more weight.
I had a bit of arthritis in my knees before Lipitor but it did not stop me from running for miles. Now I find if I walk on the treadmill for a mile or two that I am stiff and sore all day. I live with joint pain, muscle ache and a weakness in my legs that makes getting up a real struggle. I put this down to having put on weight but maybe I am putting on weight because of Lipitor and that is causing the problem.
I now seem to have a perpetual nasal infection which I have been putting down to the smog. My skin is so dry, at times, it hurts but I was putting it down to the dryness of central heating in winter. I too have floaters in my eyes but have been told they are common at my age whether I was on Lipitor or not. Sometimes my vision is so blurry I have geat difficulty reading.
I am also taking Cozaar, Allopurinol and Gen-Doxazosin.
I am looking at this web site because I am worried. I will now see my doctor.

i took lisinopril for 5 months for moderate high bp. stopped taking it 3 weeks ago because of the incredibly intrusive dry cough which often led to vomiting, and the feeling of utter exhaustion and muscle aches. some days i could only take one step at a time. i made stupid mistakes at work and found difficulty in multi-tasking, eventually questioning my ability to continue working. but even after 3 weeks i still cough with distressing frequency, peeing my pants and throwing up--and i'm as stiff, sore and tired as ever. after talking to friends who had experience with lisinopril, i now fear it may take many months to return to normal. having no insurance, it's not always easy to just run to the doc for this and that. i'm going it alone now. i am a 62 year old woman.
