I was on the NuvaRing for nearly a year, with no noticeable side effects. I only decided to switch to something else because one time it FELL OUT!! How could I not have noticed this happening?? I didn't realize it wasn't there until I started bleeding all over the place unexpectedly. That was a really close call; I'm glad I didn't get pregnant.

FYI, I'd been on "the patch" before NuvaRing, and didn't like how that upset my stomach on a regular basis. That's why I switched to the NuvaRing, and didn't have any stomach troubles with it.
After the NuvaRing fell out, I got a Mirena IUD. That thing is causing the worst side effects, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure what the best birth control option would be now; I'm kinda' ready to be done with hormones for awhile.

I really don't know what to do, I hurt so bad every single day I could cry. I was given Levaquin in March 2008 when I had pneumonia. I took it for 10 days and I hurt so bad still was very sick so I was put on it for another 10 days, so I took the Levaquin for a total of 20 days. I thought all this sickness was from the pneumonia. I had trouble getting out of bed, I could not even bend my knees, my feet, knees, elbows, and fingers were swelled up and I was getting all kinds of cracking in all my joints, headaches, stomach pains, all kinds of muscle pains. When I went back to work, I was telling a girl at work how I hurt and she asked me what kind of antibiotic I was taking, I told her and she said they had it on the world news . I said why is it still on the market. I seen 3 doctors about this and they think I'm nuts! They sent me for all kinds of xrays for all different parts of my body, what is that going to show! Its been a year and I still ache, I keep swelling up, joint and muscle pains, cracking, stomach troubles, problems sleeping, its terrible. I take pain medication for my back, I have 2 herniated discs, and I have to take more pain meds for all these other pains, this is not going to work. I even went to see a rheumatologists and he said I don't have arthritis. So Levaquin done a number on me. If anyone can help, or know what to do let me know!

I have been on Topamax for about two years for migraines, and was very pleased that after the first month or two, most of the noticeable side effects (dizziness, flat-tasting soda, etc.) disappeared, and the Topamax has been very effective in cutting my migraines in half. However, I've recently begun to question whether other health problems I've been experiencing are actually Topamax side effects and I just didn't realize it.

The first is intermittent stomach troubles that have been ongoing for the last year. Starting last January, I started experiencing diarrhea, stomach pain, and other persistent gastrointestinal problems, and through online research, I decided that it was probably either a spastic colon or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I lost 15-20 lbs. in the spring and summer, but the problems would always recede before I took them to my doctor, then resurface just long enough to irritate me before disappearing again. It never occurred to me until recently that these could be Topamax side effects.

The other possible side effect that I assumed was an unrelated problem is interruptions to my sleep pattern. I have been experiencing some occasional bouts of sleep paralysis, and which researching this, read that in normal sleep patterns, one is supposed to enter REM sleep (when dreaming occurs) after about 90 minutes. I frequently enter into dream sleep in as short as a 20-30 minute nap, which does not seem to be normal. Again, researching this, the only two explanations that came up were narcolepsy, which I obviously do not have, and that my normal sleep patterns are being interrupted "by medication." So I'm back to wondering if it's the Topamax. Has anyone experienced similar sleep symptoms?

Started ambien because of chronic insomnia and restless leg syndrome. My doctor found I was anemic and said this causes restless leg syndrome and I also have fibromyalgia. Ambien gave me relief. However, over time I began noticing things that concerned me. I have always been very sharp. Mentally sharp. Great memory. Very business oriented, etc... But that all started to fade away. I was on ambien about 10 months. I was having huge problems with my memory. My mind was no longer sharp. I would forget the simplest things like my phone number and then feel a moment of panic before I'd remember it. Also noticed I didn't remember many things that happened the night before. I felt I was making mistakes that were very out of character for me. My hair got very thin. Seemed like a lot fell out daily and every time I washed and dried. I was scared I was going bald. I kept wondering if the ambien was causing hair loss but couldn't find any info on it. I was having a lot of stomach troubles, every single day, multiple times a day. I went off the ambien to see if it would help me get my mind clear again and see if my hair stopped falling out. I notice that without it I have the same insomnia I had before. The same twitching legs. So it's hard to go without it. Yet I have been off of it for 11 days now because I can tell a huge difference in my mind. The memory seems to be much better. I haven't had any ibs since I stopped taking the ambien which was a huge and pleasant surprise to me. I had no idea the ambien was contributing to that, but apparently it was. Last night was hard because I slept none. I don't know which is worse, the conditions I have without the ambien, or taking the ambien which creates different issues...
