I was prescribed Cipro for 2 surgeries I had last week. When I picked it up from the pharmacy, the pharmacist told me to drink a lot of water as much as possible because it has a dehydrating effect and he told me it makes you more sensitive to the sun so if I have to be outdoors, to limit my time and apply sunscreen with a high spf as often as possible. I didn't go outdoors because of that, but Cipro made me very thirsty, but I expected it and drank plenty of fluids. Other than than, I did not have any problems. I never got constipated, it didn't bother my stomach but I always eat something when taking medications because I can't take them on an empty stomache. I didn't have any allergy problems, diarrhea, breathing problems or anything else. In fact, I liked this antibiotic much better than any other one I've ever been on.

I started Levaquin 500 MG on Thursday Aug. 29, 2008. I did not have any problem the first night. But the second day at about 3:00 PM I was working on my computer when my finger joints started to get stiff and my hands and arms started to shake. I just thought I was tired and forgot about it. At 1:30 AM August 30, I was awakened by someone shouting in my ear , You are going to die. I woke up in a sweat and my heart pounding. My hand were stiff and my knee joints were very tight. I also was in a very bad panic attack.
I went to my desk and wrote my wife a letter telling her how much I loved her and my dog Abby. I then proceeded to give her funeral instructions as to which funeral home church and buriel plot.. This writing was 3 pages long. I called my doctor and they as much told me this could not happen. My blood pressure was 240 over 120 when I took it. I took a valium and this calmed me down in 10 minutes. They gave me a new antibiotic for my Bronchitis. So I thought the nightmares and pain was over. Not so quick last night at 2:20 AM I was awake by the screaming in my ears you are going to die. I tried to call my wife but I could not get the word out for help. I tried to move my hands and fingers they would not move. Finally I rolled off the bed and yelled my wifes name she did not hear me.
This drug has set back my recovery from my panic attacks. This drug should be badded by the FDA. But as usual the government does nothing to help the public only big business.

I have posted my symptoms for about a week, I am HAPPY to say that I have only been off of YAZ 12 days and have already experienced some improvements. Im am sleeping again, and eating normally, the emotions have calmed down a little, I am still experiencing the cloudiness in the head, and a lil anxiety, and my stomach is still messed up occasionally. however I am able to get through the day without feeling like I am a completely Crazy person. I was only on it for a month, and I have never felt this way in my life, I heard that it will take about two months to completely leave your system, so everyone experiencing the effects of this EVIL drug, hang in there it will get better with time, you all are in my prayers. God Bless

I had the Mirena placed in on July 27, 2008 - as the weeks went on, I started to get dizzy a lot, BLURRY vision - I did not connect the two. I've been bleeding now for almost three weeks and I called the doctor because of that and she wants to see me on Friday. What also is happening is my stomach is VERY bloated that I feel like I am 4 months pregnant (and I have 2 kids - so I know what that feels like), I have terrible acne all of a sudden and oily skin and itchy scalp that I just want to scratch my head so hard.... is it me getting older or is it this thing??!!!?!?!?

So I got on NuvaRing because I needed something with low hormones that wouldn't make me crazy like other BC's. I've been on it for almost 3 years now and didn't start having problems until recently. Now I get night sweats... i wake up and i am soaking wet from sweat, depressed, cry and get angry for no reason. Like the other night I was in the middle of eating dinner and i just started balling uncontrollably for no reason. My sex drive really hasn't decreased all that much it's still there; but i have discharge like there is no tomorrow and sometimes it smells. I figured if i douched that would help the situation but apparently not. I also haven't had a "period" in like 4 months and i'm not pregnant. I say "period" because NuvaRing doesn't allow your ovaries to ovulate so it's not really a period but withdrawal blood because your not shedding any uterine lining.I also recently have had bad migraines... thinking that having my wisdom teeth finally removed would take care of that issue but it's been 3 months since that and the answer is no. I have no energy to do anything all i want to do is sleep but i hate sleeping because i wake up soaking wet from sweat. It bothers me when my husband and I have sex and hurts. I also can not go a day without taking pepto; my stomach hurts even if i drink water. don't get me wrong i love the fact that i've lost weight but not because my stomach hurts too much to eat. I know if your looking for something to help you pin point what it is i'm sorry that you're not getting it from me. But I can tell you this after a while you get tired of it. I am going to talk to my gyno to see what my other options are. I can't take it any longer and neither can my husband. I have never PMSed as bad as I have been lately. If you're experiencing any of these I would recommend you call your gyno/dr and let them know; there could be something better for you out there. Sometimes I wonder why we woman put our bodies through these things. If all else fails looks like we'll just be going back to the old school days of condoms and spermicide lube. i'll post in a few days after my gyno apt to let you know what she said about my symptoms... but you'll know when you've had enough.

I have been on anti-depressants for about 10 years now. I've tried Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Prozac, and Effexor (just to name a few). I've been on Effexor (this is my 2nd time) for about 4 years now. I finally decided to get off the effexor and I desperately want to share what's been happening ever since. I slowly weened off of it, starting at my regular 175mg a day for 2 1/2 weeks, then down to 125mg, 75mg, and then 37.5. My doctor suggested I change doses every week, however I went 2 1/2 weeks because of the AWFUL side effects.

I have had the typical head "buzzing" is what I call it and my nerves are a wreck 24/7 but the worse problem I'm having and the one I haven't seen anyone write about yet is my severe stomach problems. I have had diarrhea everyday, all day, since I went off Effexor. It's been over 2 weeks since I've taken my last pill and it's not getting any better. My dr. thinks it could be IBS or bad eating habits, but I've tried changing my diet, etc. and nothing is giving me any relief. It's come to the point where I can't tell if my nerves are what is upsetting my stomach or if my upset stomach is what is setting off my nerves. Anyone else with these issues??

And in case anyone reads this before starting Effexor, please please don't use this medication. Try any and/or all other anti-depressants before using Effexor. It may work for your depression, but the side effects highly out weigh the benefits. I'm finding that out the hard way now. I would have never taken this drug if I knew what I would be in for 4 yrs down the road. And I can't help but be upset with our healthcare system when doctor's would actually prescribe this to their patients.

I have been on this pill for two weeks now and have not had a day go by without a headached or nausea....or both most days. Bleeding has not been a problem- yet. I'm really tired of being sick to my stomach. I am not sure if its just the bc or the combination of this and my Wellbutrin SR since they have the same side effects...but whatever it is- it needs to STOP! Any suggestions to lighten the symptoms?

I'm on my second series of the lupron shot, I am also a very young age of 17 years old tying to conquer endo and it's symptoms.... At age 13 I received my first laparoscopy and have been on birth control since "becoming a woman". I have terrible cramps and creeping lower back pain that makes me feel weak and exhausted all the time. I should be full of energy, but i just have terrible mood swings, lost love interest, severe mood swing, extreme hot flashes, memory loss, I've lost so much weight ..... I have lost from 125 lbs to 111lbs in maybe a month. I get very sick to my stomach and vomit when something doesn't appease me such as the smells of certain things, room temperatures, or even if someone around me is smoking. Lupron does take care of my extreme menstrual pains i did have, but sometimes i just wake up to dread the day.... It just feels like anything can make me feel upset and empty on the inside, no one wants to feel like that. From April 08- July 08

Anyone experiencing the same?

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have found this site! I have been taking YAZ for just over 4 months. I started it to try to lessen menstrual flow, not for birth control as I already have my tubes tied. I am a former professional athlete and very in-tune with my body. I am currently 43 and had my tubal at 29.
I started having issues fairly early on, but they were gradual, yet intense. Two things showed up - memory loss and extreme mood swings. I started having difficulty remembering the simplest things and would forget parts of conversations had only minutes earlier. Then the mood swings started. I am a very stable person, even around my period. I began having suicidal thoughts for no reason at all. One day fine, the next day wanting to end it all.

I have put on 14# in the 4-month period, visible cellulite now on my thighs. Vaginal dryness, brown gunky, pasty residue after my period (which never actually stopped) and decreased sex drive.

I called the doctor and stopped taking them as of today after finding this site!

Oh boy! Side effects to coming off this med! UGH! I am going through them as I type! It is the most horrible way to feel! I have tried in the past on several occasions to get off this med...but never had accomplished the feat as it is nearly impossible to get through the day! At my highest dose I was taking 300 mg daily... the Dr. weaned me down slowly and now am trying just to get off of 75mg daily! I am on day 4 without Effexor xr... needless to say the side effects are getting worse instead of better!
I am experiencing: dizziness, tingly feeling in my whole body, night sweats, almost hard to do anything because I feel as if I have the flu!!!!
To anyone who is given the choice to take this med...DON"T!! Getting off of it is the hardest thing to do! In hindsight... when I am on it fully it is a great med. It helped me regain my life without panic, anxiety, depression etc... Idk... people don't understand the hell we go through with all these meds. My poor husband can't take my complaining anymore! Although either can I! I feel like going and getting a pill right now just to feel better!

I've been taking Lo24 for 3 weeks now, winding down to the last week when usually on my last B.C. Ortho Tri Cyclen 28 - I start my period. But this past 2 days, I had severe back ache (not muscle, but like joints) lingering to my legs and arms. I felt very sick to my stomach. I haven't started my period yet. I thought I was sick. But I didn't have a fever, just very bad back and body ache that literally didn't go away for 2 days straight. Luckily that was during the weekend, I did end up going to work come Today, but I still feel it slightly - very irritable and it feels draining. I will be seeing my MD tomorrow. I check in on my status, if or if not it's due to Lo24.

My son will be 6 in June. He has been on singulair since he was 2. About a couple of months ago I noticed a change in his mood. Like he was depressed. Getting very upset if he couldn't do a certain thing. To the point of crying. Also crying if we get on him for something and not yelling at him just talking to him. He's always seems to be in a daze all of the time. And when you ask him a question, you sometimes have to ask him several times. To be 5 he is very hard on himself. He thinks he should be able to do anything and be good at it or he is very upset. He also thinks that everyone else is smarter than him when he is one of the smarter kids in his class. His teacher tells us. I feel he may of always been depressed but am just now seeing it, with him in school. Like many of the others, he has a hard time falling asleep unless its the weekend and we let him stay up later. He also at times has bad stomach aches, to the point hes crying. After reading some of the things people are going through, I'm going to stop giving him the singulair to see if his symptoms go away. Now I'm convinced that thats whats causing it.

At first, Yaz was fine. I had been on Yasmin for 3 years, and switched to Yaz. I had no side effects from Yasmin. This is my 4th month on Yaz, and I've had a multitude of side effects. The first month, no period at all, second month, lighter period, but it started late and I was BLOATED and CONSTIPATED for the whole period. Third month, my vision is getting worse, I have ridiculous headaches, insomnia and anxiety. I started my 4th month of pills (hoping that my body just needed a few months to adapt to the new BC) and this has been by far the worst month ever!!! I've been on my period for 2 weeks now, even though I've finished a whole week of hormone pills, and I'm BLOATED LIKE CRAZY. It will not go down! And my mood swings are out of control. Any little thing will make me loose my temper, or I'll start crying and ask my husband a million times if I'm fat. My headaches are worse, insomnia is worse and now I'm sensitive to light. And I'm carrying around an extra 5 pounds on my butt that I didn't want. Plus, it's a load of crap that Yaz helps with cramps. Now it just feels like one person is kicking me in the stomach instead of two (which really is no different). This is just my experience with it, and I'm sure some people do great, but would recommend doing research on other pills before committing to Yaz.

Both my children, ages 4 and 7, are currently taking Singulair chewable tablets for their seasonal allergies. They have been doing so for about three months. At first, I was not consistent in giving them the medicine. It wasn't until recently that I decided I should give it to them as prescribed, once daily before bedtime. During this time I heard about an incident linking this medication to a suicide. I shrugged it off thinking this could not happen to my children. Little did I know that this medication has other serious side effects linked to it. For the past few weeks, my own 7 year old daughter has experienced many of those side effects including stomache aches, headaches, trouble falling asleep, irritability, mood swings, crying spells, and traumatic nightmares. She used to be a fun loving child who loved waking up to go to school. Now she does not want to get up in the morning and hates going to school. She cries easily over the smallest thing and complains frequently of headaches and stomach aches. My son on the other hand has become overly aggressive and I had concluded that maybe his video games or cartoons were to blame. Well, today I found your website and I will take them both off the medication indefinitely! Their allergies were not as severe to begin with so I figure that they should do okay without it. I will probably look into more natural/ herbal remedies to soothe them when they do get their allergies. I will definitley be reporting back as to their results.

I was on Paxil for 9yrs, but have been off it now for 8yrs. It was prescribed by my family Dr for extreme PMS. At the time, it was a new drug just on the market, and there were no boards like this to describe any side effects.
After I was on it for several years, I tried to come off it. But the side effects were so bad, every time I tried, I decided to stay on it. I realized I couldn't stay on it any longer when it was affecting everything in my life. Paxil was making me so exhausted I was sleeping up to 20 hours a day. It almost ruined my life. Because I couldn't get to work, I lost my job and was out of work for 2 years while I was trying to come off Paxil. Of course my Dr refused to believe I was going through withdrawl, because he said Paxil was not addictive. We all know now that is incorrect. I had to slowly wean myself off it 1/4 of a tablet at a time over several month, and I still had horrible, very scarry withdrawl symptoms. I suffered from vertigo, tremors, tingling throughout my body, numbness in my hands, feet and legs, brain shocks, vomiting, dizziness, slurred speach, memory loss, heart palpitations and the hallucinations were the worst. I became easily aggitated by everything, unable to stand up without losing my balance. I was seeing floating black waves across my vision when my eyes were open. I can say it was hell, and I wouldn't want anyone else to suffer through it. I'm writing this to warn others that if you are on it for a long time, and then come of it, some of the withdrawl effects never go away. So be very careful how long you stay on it. To this day, 8yrs later, I still get numbness and tingling in my legs and feet. I still get brain shocks every so often. I still get short-term memory loss. The worst part is Paxil ruined my digestive system. Before I was on it I had no problems, now there are only certain foods I can eat. Paxil effects the serotonin levels in your brain, but it also effects the serotonin levels in your stomach and intestines. I went through several thousand dollars worth of health tests only to discover it was caused by all my years on Paxil. So please be careful and only stay on this drug as long as need be. It may have a negative affect on the rest of your life.

My son is 13 yrs old and he was given Singular for his allergies. He only takes them every now and than the last time was a week ago. That night he came to me complaining about his stomacher hurting. I told him that it was just something he ate. He also was very angry that night. It seemed like any time his dad or I said anything to him that he would start raising his voice to us. Needless to say that he got into trouble for his behavior. Now that I found out about the side effects of Singular I feel bad that I got onto my son for something that was not his fault and out of his control. This really upsets me to think that there is other kids out there on this medication.

I was prescribed this drug as an after operation precaution. I only took the tablets from Thursday- Monday after seeing the posts on this site!
I had been getting what i thought was heartburn on the day after my operation and assumed that the burning in my throat was from the tube placed in my throat during the anaesthetic. How wrong was I! By Monday night I was unable to eat or drink even my own saliva was buring me right down to my Oesophagus. I began to think that this was not normal as my breathing was getting weaker than normal-( i am asthmatic) constantly feeling dizzy, and to feel like someone was pouring acid into me ?? All sent warning signs. So i read the leaflet in the box to see the side effects. Surprise surprise i was getting the severe reactions to the drug. If only i had looked sooner! So i called my local gp first thing Tuesday, who advised i was being silly and that it was not the doxycycline!!! Even though i told him about the side effects. He then told me to continue to take them! Well I was not convinced and contacted the gp that operated on me and he told me to stop taking them immediately due to the severity of the side effects i was having. Its been 4 days now and the most i have managed to consume is 1/4 of a pot of yogurt. I also am a single parent with a 2 year old to look after so I am really struggling with the effects from this drug! I have seen that others are still affect by this for days after they have ceased the treatment. I just hope it calms down soon so that i can eat something. I am terribly drained and in so much pain, not to mention having to put up with the pain from the operation! I would advise that the first signs of discomfort on this drug stop taking it!

I have read a lot of these blogs and I am seeing that many other people have the same side effects. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was in 6th or 7th grade I think and I am now a high school senior so about 5 years taking Synthroid. the doctors said that my antibodies had completely destroyed my thyroid gland so I wasn't getting any of the hormones I needed which became very noticeable when I started gaining weight and loosing energy in 5th grade. I haven't really seen any weight gain in a while but I still look like I am overweight. I am 5'6 and 130 lbs so I am about average. Side effects that are also occurring are rapid mood changes, one minute I am happy and something sad happens or I think about something and ill be tearing up. I feel depressed a lot. I am currently on 150 mcg. also during 9th and 10th grade I was put on this drug to stop my puberty so that I could grow more while on the Synthroid I guess it helped a little with height but I still look like a freshman. I don't know if I should stop taking it or keep taking it because I stopped for about a month once and started getting really sick, I would get really bad nose bleeds at random, had constant migraines and felt sick to my stomach. I started taking the Synthroid again and felt fine. I really don't know what to do.
