Does anyone here ever had any tingling issues? I had total thyroidectomy in Feb. 2009. Felt good the first month or two and have gone down from there! Some days are good, some are bad. Never know from day to day how Im going to feel! I started out for about a month and a 1/2 on 125 levothyroxin.....then my doc lowered it to 100.......as of July 14th, Im now taking .88. The tingling Im getting is all over my body, different places, here and there. Ive had some heart rate issues for a couple of months now too and finally had my regular doc send to me see a heart doctor.
Thought maybe the tingling could be from low calcium.....it was normal, CBC was normal, ECHO was normal.....waiting on the holter test results right now. The heart doc gave me a prescription for Toprol. I told him I wasn't going to take it cuz sometimes my heart feels like its barely beating and Im afraid it will make it worse. Im glad I didn't get it! Ive read of too many side effects.
Palpitations, kinda fast heart beat with pounding.....sometimes it feels likes its barely beating! Most of this occurs when first laying down......every now and then while sitting, etc. I do not exercise.....and should but just don't find the time. I switched jobs around the time I found out I had several nodes on each side of my thyroid. I was getting tired a lot and just thought i worked too much. I went from a physical job to a sit down, 12 hour, graveyard shift. Since the surgery, Ive felt it more. Im tired of feeling like crap all the time......I was already going thru some perimenopause stuff before all of this! Before I ever found out about my thyroid, I did have real light pounding of heart when laying down and tingling every blue moon, but very mild as well.
Now with no thyroid.......and medicines with all the side effects......IM GOING NUTS!!! Right now the moodiness and tingling are whats bothering me the most. Some days Im really tired, others Im ok. My body gets hot off and on, no fever. The past 3 days my calves, feet, and ankles have started to swell........never before! Plus I get some throbs and pains in my legs and arms and under my arms here and there. I probably need a new doc and I change of medicine......but Im afraid.
For one, Ive decided to go back to a physical job........and hopefully it wont screw with my heart rate even more. Ive read up on tingling........Im guessing maybe its from all the damn stress since my calcium was normal. Does anyone here have any suggestions?????

I was put on Cipro for 10 days for a sinus infection and it did nothing so I went back to the doctor and was prescribed Avelox. I took my prescribed dose of 1 400 mg tablet once daily and after the third dose began to feel some very strange sensations. I started cramping and hurting from my elbows to my finger tips as well as I started having night sweats, tremors/jerking when trying to go to sleep which is another story in itself. I may have gotten 9 hours sleep in 4 days. All of this over a sinus infection. I guess we are simply being lab rats for the Rx companies.

I was taking Levaquin for a sinus infection. After taking the first dose of 750 mg, I noticed that I started having tingling and numbness in my hands and arms. After the second dose, I started feeling the same tingling and numbness in my arms, hands, and legs. Because I had been having severe headaches anyway, I started wondering if I had some kind of neurological problem and my headaches were linked to the strange sensations. However, I noticed that I didn't have any problems with my arms and legs until after I started taking Levaquin. Some of my other symptoms were: tightness in my neck muscles and sore muscles. I also remember seeing a flashing light from the corner of my left eye and floaters. I stopped taking Levaquin after just 2 doses because it began scaring me and I feared what might happen after my third dose. I can't afford to take any chances with my health. That's why I appreciate this post, and I see that I wasn't just imagining these side effects. Since I've stopped taking this medication I still have problems with my arms. They feel heavy like I've been lifting weights and the ache. A couple of times, I've had to take pain medicine for the pain in my arms because they've hurt so bad, it feels kind of like when you hit your funny bone and you try to figure out why they call it a "funny bone" because it's definitely not funny! My arms hurt so bad I couldn't lift them, and I could type or write so I just took some medicine (tremadol) and laid down. It's been weeks since I've taken levaquin, but I still I have sensations and aching and heaviness in my arms. Has anybody been off of Levaquin for a considerable amount of time and found that the symptoms go away? Please give me some hope! :) Thanks.

I was put on Effexor because of anxiety and panic attacks, and all I have to say is that this medication increased more so than it alleviated any of those symptoms. I was not even feeling very anxious at the time of my taking the first (37.5 mg) dose.
I took the capsule around 2 in the afternoon and by 4pm I had a severe headache. This was followed by nausea and strange thoughts. When I returned home that evening (last night) around 7pm I called my roommate a profane word (way out of character) and made her cry. We resolved the conflict, and I went to bed without any discomfort.
But I awoke around 3 am feeling strange sensations coursing through my body, anxiety, strange thoughts (again), and a sense of "overheating." I wanted to get up but I felt like I could not will myself to act, I felt as though I was in an "out of body" state. My paranoia and anxiety reached an apex at which I decided that I must not be "okay," and called my mother.
My mother assured me that I am okay and just that I must be on "too much stimulant, call the doctor tomorrow." I truly felt like I was having an awful hallucinogenic nightmare. I wanted someone to tell me that I would be okay because at certain points I had a fear that maybe I was having an allergic reaction to the stuff and might die.
Had I not researched online boards beforehand I would have called "911" no questions asked at the first onset of my symptoms last night. One of the scariest things I have been through in awhile. Still don't feel quite right, but the feeling is not as intense.

I've been having these strange sensations in my arms. A kind of tingly pulse of energy going through my arms. It is hard to explain. I don't know if it is in my bones, muscles or exactly where it is!!

I started taking Yasmin about 10 days ago. On the first day I was at my computer and noticed that I suddenly couldnt focus on my screen. My vision became blurry. I also felt sharp shooting pains behind my legs.I took it for 7 days. During that time I became extremely tired, lethargic, fatigued, my eyes hurt. I slept for longer hours, and just felt generally drained. This was highly noticeable to me since I go to the gym everyday, and I didn't even have the zeal or energy to do that. My breasts became very sore and sensitive. The shooting pains moved from the back of my legs to random parts of my body. I stopped taking it after the 7th day and noticed an immediate improvement in my energy level the next day. I didnt need as much sleep, my eyes felt much better, not grainy and painful like I had to close them all the time. Now, the 11th day, my breasts are no longer tender, and all the other symptoms are gone. These are just the facts. I personally WILL NEVER take this pill again!!

I have been taking Welchol for a week and a half. I have noticed a little dizziness and some muscle pain. I don't seem to have much energy either. Sleeping is what I want to do most these days. Not good. Just wanted to share my side effects with you..

My brother has been taking Lisinopril for 9 months and since he began taking this drug, he has no quality of life.
His side affects are: Tiredness, tingling in the feet and toes and at times he can't feel the ground under his feet and cannot walk properly on the street, there is dizziness, queasiness, hot flashes an hour after taking the pill, strange sensations in his head, and various other symptoms.
So he cut down the dosage enormously and still the symptoms are there.
This is a deadly drug and shouldn't be given to human beings.

I was on 10 mg. of lisinopril for about 2 months when I noticed that my left foot and my left hand frequently felt heavy, as if they had fallen asleep. My PCP checked me out and confirmed that I was not having heart problems. Then, I also experienced the "buzzing" sensation in my left hand and left foot. This happened frequently while I was taking the drug. I also experienced a burning sensation in the fingertips on my left hand and the muscles in my left arm ached.
Finally, I stopped taking the medication about four weeks ago and the sensations in my hand and foot greatly subsided, athough they did not go away completely. Ironically, a week after stopping the medication, I developed the achy joints (hand, knees and elbows) that many of you have complained about. Now, four weeks later, all symptoms have lessend substantially. I occasionally get a transient achiness in my knuckles and occasionally I feel some of the strange sensations in my left hand that I have listed above.
I just wanted to let those of you that are experiencing strange neurological reactions to this drug know that you are not alone; I went through what you are going through and possibly more and endured some of the worst weeks that I have ever experienced in my whole life; For weeks I was gripped by the fear that I was developing lupus or MS.
So, if you are struggling with some of these problems, be brave and stand up to your PCP and tell her that you WILL NOT take this drug anymore. I'm sure that you will find as I have that quitting lisinopril will restore your sanity and hope of having a happy, healthy future.

I was wondering if anyone out there is facing the same problem that I am. I was on lisinopril for about 2 months and stopped taking it because I was having strange sensations in my left foot and left hand (heart checked out okay). I also had a touch of the infamous cough. Well, I've been off the medication for about a week and a half now, and I've developed soreness in my joints (fingers, elbows, knees and toes). My doc has ordered some tests to check for arthritis and rheumatory athritis (the latter of which has me scared). Can anyone relate? Are any of you out there still feeling symptoms after stopping the medication?

I only took Levoxyl for 2 1/2 months recently. I had strange sensations in my ankles, feet and hands plus a frequent pounding, rapid pulse. My hair fell out and is quite thin. My doctor insisted I remain on it. I logged on to www.safetyalerts.com today and was shocked to find that for many of the past few months, various dosages of Levoxyl has been recalled for contamination with an animal drug plus some other chemical. I refused to continue with the Levoxyl a month ago and sucessfully prevailed upon a new doctor to prescribe Armour Thyroid. I have been entirely side effct free and do feel so much better! It's too bad that patients have to be their own protectors of their health when doctors should be better informed!

I was taking 40 mg. Zocor for about 5 months;although successful, I now know that I would have much preferred the higher chloresterol. Almost immediately I felt strange sensations in my legs and arms. At times I had trouble with balance. After 3 months the pain in my right thigh became extremely intense. All the usual remedies were without relief. The pain then went to my left thigh, then to the right elbow and then to the left elbow. I had great difficult in rising from a sitting position followed by difficulty in walking for about 20 steps. I still cannot raise my arm over my head or dress with some assistance. I stopped taking Zocor without my physicians permission (he later agreed on the unilateral decision)but relief has not been forthcoming. The most acute pain is while I am in bed; my shoulders feel as though a truck ran over them. Relief comes only after rising for 10-15 minutes three or four times each evening. I have been given every medical test known to man without avail. I could go on and on but will finish with this
IF YOU ARE PRESCRIBED ZOCOR, RUN, DON't WALK
Lisinopril (3) Levoxyl (2) Cefzil (2) Lupron (1) Klonopin (1) Levaquin (1) Actonel (1) Synthroid (1) Zocor (1) Mirena (1) Effexor (1) Avelox (1) Welchol (1) Omeprazole (1) Yasmin (1)

I'm 41, male, and have been taking Omeprazole for about a month now due to an H. Pylori infection that was also treated simultaneously with PrevPack and Sucralfate. A subsequent endoscopy found no ulcers, polyps or stomach problems; my entire GI tract down to my stomach is clear.
I was taking a single 20mg pill per day and had it upped by my doctor to twice a day, though it seems that twice a day is now worse for me. Foods that were fine with me on a single pill seem to give me problems with two pills.
Now that I am on Omeprazole alone (taking no other meds) I have had strange sensations, both mentally and physically. My legs and arms get tingly, I have sharp pains across my chest (as if I am doing a heavy bench press and my muscles are being pulled), my heart rate will speed up, especially if I am laying down, and occasionally I suffer bouts of all-over body aches which feel almost like growing pains.
Mentally I am feeling depressed, anxious and on one bad night I felt oblivious to the world, as if I could walk off a cliff and it would be no big deal; scared the crap out of me. Often I have trouble getting motivated to do anything and find that my only way to get around it is to try and absorb myself in a book. Any other chore or project I try, I start but just can't seem to finish; my mind wanders.
I thought this might be connected to angst about dealing with the pain and circumstance of the infection, but previous to my H. Pylori I had another physical trauma that caused me trouble and I had no mental side effects; I was dealing with it and understanding it as a result of getting older and my body doing what every body does as it ages.
Is it Omeprazole? I suppose I can't really say for sure but reading this and other forums I am under the impression that it is probably having side effects that are serious enough to cause concern. I could probably deal with most of the physical side effects but the mental ones are scary. I will stop using Omeprazole starting tomorrow and see how it goes, confining myself to foods which hopefully won't cause too much reaction and go from there.
