I just recently switched from Divalproex 'Sodium to Celexa, and I take Clonazepam with it. The very first day with celexa I felt wonderful. The Divaproex was giving me rage attacks, and bad ones too. Some of the symptoms you guys have described sounds like symptoms from type 2 diabetes, which I just found out I have. Celexa for me works, I have been on Wellbutrin, Zoloft, and Divalproex. Eventually I hope to be off all the medicine I am on. Weight problem along with all this medicine is a big cause of stress, anxiety, and fatigue. I do have the sexual problem, I have been prescribed Lavitra but have not started taking it yet.

I posted a short one, would like to add to it. My daughter was taken by ambulance twice last week to the ER, after having violent seizure like episodes. On second visit, she had several while we were waiting to be seen. She spent 5 days in the hospital, having these episodes as few as 10, as many as 30. lasting any where from 4 minutes to 40. She screams out in pain. It's like her entire back, including arms, legs, hands, feet are having a severe muscle spasm at that same time. If you look up dystonia, the definition fits. Dr. said it was too severe for that diagnosis. They ran EEG, EKG, Cat Scan, MRI, X-ray, extensive blood and urine work, video for 24 hours, with EEG. Everything was normal. DR decided it was stress and anxiety. Released from hospital still having episodes. I called a dystonia specialist in Maryland, she asked if she had the GARDASIL shots. Said it sounded like a side effect she had heard of. Well, after reading all these blogs, youtube, I believe it's the GARDASIL causing her problems. I knew it wasn't stress & anxiety. We are currently detoxing with ionizing foot baths, gluten free diet and meds from Health food store, called HMD-Heavy Metal Detox. I feel we are moving in the right direction. My daughter is a cheerleader, dancer and honor student. She just wants her life back. It has been on hold for 2 weeks now. I consider her one of the lucky girls, after reading many blogs. God Bless each and everyone of you. Sign the petition to stop hurting our girls.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad I found this website! I started taking loestrin fe24 three and a half months ago. Last month I started with the heart palpitations. Went to see a cardiologist....wore a 24 hour monitor....had ekg....everything is normal. NORMAL my butt! I feel awful! The palpitations are getting so bad I have not slept in 3 days. I know that only makes it worse. I am thinking about just stopping the pill cold. The gyn called in ortho tricyclen for me but I can't start on that until the end of the month. I don't know if I can take this bcp for three more weeks. Any suggestions?

I am on my 7th month of Loestrin and I'm about to call my doctor to switch me back to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. My side effects with Loestrin weren't that bad at first...but they've gotten increasingly worse. I've bought a pregnancy test for the last 3 months b/c my side effects from this pill mimic those of pregnancy--I get no period at all except for minimal spotting. My breasts feel constantly sore and swollen and I've gone up another cup size. I've been feeling unnaturally irritable, anxious, and depressive. I also cannot seem to get enough sleep. I feel mildly nauseous several times throughout the day, not too severe, but enough to make me uncomfortable. Every time I've taken a preg test, it's negative, but this pill makes me feel EXACTLY like being pregnant (and I've been pregnant before). This pill is not worth the stress/anxiety it's caused me.

Hi there!
I have to say, I am so happy that I have found this website. I feel like I'm crazy!! I have been taking Yasmin for a little over a year or so and within the past two month I have noticed significant stress, anxiety, depression (which I have NEVER experienced in my life). Although, over the past year I have noticed I have been tired, overall low energy, and snappy for no reason. Really high strung. I never knew why.

I do have to ask though, those of you who have stopped taking, or switched from Yasmin...have you noticed a shift in mood for the better? Have you noticed a difference in depression? I am planning to make an appointment for my OB/GYN tomorrow to get off this pill. I just want some hope that things will indeed get better, you know??

I am 21 years old and my doctor prescribed me 20mg of Adderall to take twice a day. I've been taking it for about a week (only in the morning, I'm still too wound up to take it 4 hours later!) and I have already lost 10lbs. Also I've been having trouble breathing deeply, chest pain, tingling in my arms and legs, and no appetite whatsoever. Are these symptoms normal?

I've been on Lamictal 25 mg for 4 days and for the past 2 days I have notice severe aching and muscle pains in my legs. The dr advice to quit taking it and see if it goes away but all my lab work was good so i keep taking it. I guess tomorrow I won't be taking it cause now its going up into my arms and making them ache and it hurts so bad.

Glad to know i am not alone. Mine is for stress/anxiety/depression they made a point to say it wasn't for bipolar

I began Lamictal in Jan 07. About a week after I began it I noticed excess production of phlegm. I mean crazy phlegm production to the point I needed to spit every few minutes. I also noticed that I began to have difficulty breathing at times. I had no rash.
In February I developed a fever, chills, shortness of breath, severe fatigue and severe leg cramping in both legs. I thought I was having a heart attack it was so bad. I went off the drug and the symptoms subsided however now I am severely fatigued at times and my breathing is still not quite the same as it was prior to the medication.

This is a nightmare. I have been on Lamictal 200 mg, tab in morning, for approx. 5 months. About 3 1/2 months ago I started getting muscles aches and weakness, muscle overuse problems, fluid retention ( like 12 pounds), stayed in a trance with very little short term memory. Thought it was everything but this medicine....I am an avid athelite, yes, even at 51. So, I blamed myself for not slowing down. Quick exercising totally, for 2 months, iced 3 times a day on leg muscles. Finally after making it to the summer without a mental breakdown, I went to the emergency room and a new internist to get checked out. Blood work, thyroid, hormones,ok.... Really don't care what they think , I can not walk, it hurts like hell. The Dr. did tell me to get off Lamictal....ok 7th day and I have some relief but it is not complete. Called manufactures, interesting, yes- these are side effects!!! But the studies are limited. Listen , unless you have seizures, get off this medicine... you read the full disclosure of side effects and then search yourself......It can ba a huge FOOOOOPA.....And you are the fool that will end up holdling the bag, not the manufacturer. Hopefully I will get better. Right now , I just trying to stay calm.

Dear Jen

My Thyroid elevated quite high when I came off the Yaz I thought I was having heart attack
I had it last checked a month and half ago and it was 0.89

I dont know I too was wondering where it is at now
Maybe should have it checked again

Wish I understood what is making us all feel this way
Hormones?
Thyroid?
Stress?Anxiety?
Depression?

Which is it what is it???

I have tried so much
Just got adrenal support vitamins today and whole foods B6
Trying the vitamins now

Cant fall asleep on my own is so terrible

Does anyone else have insomnia or the problem where you cant fall asleep

Dejay had it the same as me but the Lexapro I believe made her gain her sleep back.

Is anyone else out there taking antidepressants and it helped alot

Dejay was a mess and the Lexapro has her out everyday and functioning pretty well and sleeping

I tried Lexapro for 4 weeks and it nearly killed me

My doctor wants me to try Celexa a mild version thinks it would help alot but Iam terrified

Anyone know?

I have been taking yasmin for about 8 months now and have developed a lot of the symptoms that you girls have posted. I was wondering if anyone else has developed Acid Reflux while on this pill. I never had trouble with heartburn or acid reflux at all in the past and suddenly I have full blown symptoms and on daily medication for it. Of course reflux disease can be exacerbated by stress/anxiety. Great. I have 2 pills left in the pack and then i'm going off. I'm glad to have read these posts before attempting to go off it should I develop more side effects. Here goes nothing!!!!!

I originally posted comments in July, 2005. Since then, I still have most of the side effects I listed. Advair IS NOT helping!!! Trouble sleeping, extreme fatigue, pain in both legs (from thigh to foot), eczema on both hands, can't concentrate, depression/mood swings (I am currently taking 0.5 of clonazepam for anxiety, 1/2 in am 1/2 in PM). So I really don't need the added stress/anxiety of these side effects. The list goes on, but you all know these too well! The only positive I can say is that I haven't gained any weight - it's just the opposite - I don't have an appetite at all! I've only been on the Advair since June and the doctor prescribed 100/50 2x a day. Since I don't have health insurance nor prescrition coverage (and the fact that this crap is not working for me), I only use it 1x every other day. I will be making another appointment to see the doctor soon, because I can't stand this stuff. I have to be very selective on the doctors I see and for what ails me (because of the no health inusrance issue). I was on Flovent and Albuterol for over a year until he switched me. My PCP thinks it's all in my head, nice guy, but terrible bed-side manner. (He's the one that prescribed the clonazepam - been on it for 2 years); went to the ER a few years ago before finally being diagnosed with asthma. I even went to see a psychiatrist! I truly believe I had the astham then, but it went unnoticed. Now I have all these weird side effects - some are new since taking Advair and it doesn't quite register at first, then I blame it on the Advair. I read some comments that it has worked for some people and that's great. But I am not one of the lucky ones. I will go from doctor to doctor, new meds to new meds, etc. until I feel like my old self again. It can't always be like this. Does anyone know of any natural remedies out there? My email is ******. Thanks!

ALL WHO HAVE RECENTLY STOPPED YASMIN, LETS KEEP EACH OTHER POSTED FOR SUPPORT!

Thank you for your feedback VOICE. I have been really scared about how I have been feeling lately. I can get over not having a period and the acne, but the hair loss (since stopping Yasmin 8 weeks ago) and anxiety/depression it has caused is HORRIBLE! I have never felt this bad for this long in my entire life. I keep trying to tell myself that each month will get better, but each time I see a clump of hair fall out, I start panicking and getting depressed again. I don't know if the hormones are just making me more emotional, but I have been crying at the drop of a hat lately. I have always wondered if I had PCOS. I asked about that, but my GYN said I may or may not have it and that there is no real diagnosis and that it's just based on symptoms. Well...HELLO...then wouldn't you think she would have asked about my symptoms to see if I fit the CRITERIA! I am definitely switching GYNs. I think I'll go back to a male GYN I have seen in the past. My sister and mom love him (and my mom works for the health plan I have and says he's the best). I should have just stayed with him, but I thought I would feel more comfortable with a woman. I know a lot of women think that female doctors are better, but my history has always been that they tend to minimize my problems/symptoms more. I have found male doctors to be more thorough and sympathetic. I have a male GI, have recently switched to a male PCP and they have really done the most for me. The female docs have all told me my problems are from stress/anxiety and that I need to see a therapist.

Hi I started taking Citilopram 30mg (Celexa) 2 yrs ago because had Vertigo followed by depression. Tried everything to get rid of Vertigo, inlucing MRI Scan, so Dr put it down to stress/anxiety so stayed on them. Get loads of flatulence, muzzy headaches, bad breath - sick of it. Have tried 10mg and started getting dizzy again. Back on 20mg 3 months ago gonna try one every other day because want to get off them cos i do feel happy and positive and life is better now but I know the vertigo will come back, so then what. Which is worse Celexa or Vertigo. Anyone know out there. Lor

Have taken a 30 day round of Paxill CR 12.5mg and have been off for 8 days. While on the drug my hands shook so bad I could not write or hold a cup. My heart raced and I had dizzy spells. It did, however; allow my current stress/anxiety level to become tollerable. My thinking was much more clear. Now that I am off I have noticed diminished shaking and racing. Jan 23,2003
