This was the worst experience! I started taking Doxy to rid myself of infection that might be caused due to a vaginal procedure. I started taking the med on Monday afternoon, by Thursday night my legs and arms were on fire it seemed. The tingly feeling you are talking about. I completely lost my appetite. I was tired, weak, lightheaded, nauseated. Here it is five days after I have stopped the med and I still feel the burning, tingly skin. Also, I had muscle pain that caused my skin to be sore to even touch. I cringed at the thought of someone touching me for two days. NEVER AGAIN will I take this. I mean, after all, it's strong enough to be used for ANTHRAX, how strong does that have to be?

I've been on it now for about a year b/c it is a slow release in hormones and I get migraines from all the other pills. I've noticed a lot of what some of the other posts had noted such as:
- constant discharge (I always feel wet and dirty)
- a smell coming from the area all the time
- mood swings like crazy
- Absolutely NO SEX DRIVE
- fatigue (although this has been a new one I have come across in the past month, so maybe its not related)
none of this is really attractive at all, and I am seriously contemplating going off of it. Does anyone have an suggestions for people who get severe migraines from the pill???

I'm only 26 years old and have been on yasmin for a little over a year now. Before yasmin, I was on Orthotricylen and on Orthotricyclen-lo before that. My OBGYN kept switching my pills because after a year or so on one, my period would come before I was even finished the active pills. My doctor said it was because the hormones weren't "strong enough" for my body or something to that effect. I'm not good with science or medical things, so I've just gone along with her advice. I've been on BC since I was 18, so this is 8 years now I've been on chemical hormones, and I'm starting to think I need to stop. I'm willing to deal with severe menstrual cramps if it means getting my normal life back in order. I felt okay with the ortho pills, so I never though in a million years that Yasmin could be making me miserable. I used to be the nicest, happiest, and most optimistic person you'd ever want to meet, and lately, I've been depressed, moody, extremely fatigued (even with a full night's sleep), have lost interest in sex and don't even like being touched sometimes, and I've been anxious about everything-my job, my relationship, my investments, my family. I almost feel as if I don't know my old self anymore. I don't have fun anymore and I have a lack of interest in seeing a lot of people sometimes. I just want to sleep or be alone. I feel bad because my fiance is the one suffering. I feel bad that I have no libido anymore, and he's been extremely supportive of me through my depression/mood swings. I'm so glad he hasn't run for the hills with the way I've changed so suddenly. He has definitely noticed that I'm not myself. I've never before felt like this. I also have a sneaking suspicion that my IBS(irritable bowel syndrome) is connected to Yasmin. I was diagnosed with it just around the same time I began taking Yasmin. In addition, (without giving too much information!), I've noticed a drastic increase in vaginal disharge to the point where I'm wearing little panty liners on a daily basis to keep feeling "fresh." Concerned about this sudden increase of secretions, I went to my OBGYN (actually, I went 2 times for the same thing). She assured me that it wasn't an infection or anything and ran tests to be sure and all checked out fine. She just said that my body "naturally" produces more discharge. Well, I'm beginning to think that that's a load of crap--never before did I experience the heavy daily discharge before Yasmin and I hate feeling "uncomfortable." I don't know anyone else who has to wear liners everyday to feel "fresh." Has this happened to anyone else on Yasmin? I read through many posts and no one else mentioned this. I'm so glad that I'm not alone in most of my side effects, and I plan on seeking medical advice from my OBGYN (who I'm beginning to lose faith in) AND also I plan on seeking advice from my regular family Doctor. I have about 3 active pills left... and after that I'm stopping this pill. I'll revert to strickly condom usage to avert pregnancy and get away from these horrible pills! I can't imagine what damage has been done to my body... I just hope it can be undone!

After I had my first child I decided to try the NR. I used it correctly and I still ended up pregnant. They told me that maybe it wasn't strong enough for women who just had a baby. I thought it was uncomfortable, you could feel it during sex and now I have two babies who are barely 14 months apart! I would never reccomend it.

I am starting to believe that it is impossible to sue the doctors for disfiguring my body.I have an attorney that is very nice but I don't believe my case is strong enough for medical malpractice.I guess in order to win a malpractice case you either have to be dead or maimed. If someone hit your car and put a big dent in the rear ,you could sue and have your car repaired or even get a new car if you wanted to.Well a doctor put a big dent in my rear and he probably will never have to pay for the repairs and I can never get a new body.He caused this damage and now I have to live with it forever.Where is the justice ?Does anyone out there have any advise ? I want my butt fixed and I can't afford the thousands of dollars that it will cost.I will never trust another doctor another doctor again.

hi there bitter rn and others
im 7 days pre-yasmin but i can,t really call it that because its my seven day break. i took my last pill last sunday and was due to start my new pack monday so i guees thats when the real test starts, as my body will be expecting it.
also i have been suffering from real bad migraines continously this 7 day break but today i have noticed SHARP, SHOOTING PAINS IN MY HEAD, IS THIS NORMAL ANYBODY?????
My dr has prescribed me with a ant-depressant called CITALOPRAM HYDROBROMIDE 20MG DAILY, i told him that i would wait 2 months and if i feel like the anxiety was too bad to handle myself i would only then take it. i just hope i am strong enough to cope on my own without any kind of medication.
however i am thinking of taking homeopathic treatment to regulate my periods and get rid of the cysts on my ovaries, maybe this will control my anxiety after all its the hormone imbalance that causes the anxiety and depression, ISNT IT????
WHAT DO YOU THINK?????????
ANYBODY ELSE HAD THE SHOOTING PAINS IN THE HEAD AFTER STOPPING YASMIN, AND HOW LONG AFTER STOPPING DID THEY GO AWAY?????
PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!
I DON,T FEEL DEPRESSED TODAY , JUST THE HEAD PAIN REALLY.
IM REALLY SCARED WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID PRE-YASMIN I HOPE I,M STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE IT, IM SUCH A SENSITIVE PERSON WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN WEAK-MINDED
WELL I GUESS I HAVE TO BE STRONG AND SEE WHAT LIES AHEAD AND HOPEFULLY I,LL BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT WITHOUT THE ANTI-DEPRESSANTS.
THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS POSTED THEIR EXPERIENCES ON YASMIN I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER KNOWING THAT IT WAS THE PIL AND NOT MY MIND GOING CRAZY
ANY REPLIES WOULD BE APPRECIATED GREATLY
THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN

MY NAME IS JESSICA AND I TOOK YASMINE AND MY REASON FOR CHANGING WAS ONLY BECAUSE I LOST MY JOB AND WITHOUT INSURANCE IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE. i CHANGED TO ANOTHER PILL THAT I HATE AND IT CAUSES ME TO GET HEADACHES ALL THE TIME. I HAVE BEEN ON BIRTH CONTROL FOR A LONG TIME AND BEEN ON ALL KINDS JUST BECAUSE I GOT A SIST ON MY OVERYS AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY BECAUSE MY BIRTH CONTROL WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH AND THAT IS WHEN I GOT PUT ON YASMIN. I HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL BUT I AM USE TO ALL THE PILLS AND KNOW HOW SICK THEY MAKE YOU FOR THE FIRST 4 MONTHS. THERE IS NO WONDERFUL PILL AT ALL. I AM REQUESTING TO GET PUT BACK ON YASMINE BECAUSE SO FAR AND ALOT OF PILLS LATER THIS ONE WORKED THE BEST FOR ME. SOME OF YOU WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE PUT ON IT BECAUSE BASICALLY ITS NOT LIKE ANY OTHER PILL THAT STARTS OFF WITH LIGHT AND DARK PILLS THAT MEAN IT STARTS OFF HIGH AND THEM GOES LOW. YASMIN IS THE SAME DOSAGE EVERYTIME THAT YOU TAKE IT, THERE IS NO HIGH AND LOW AND YOU GET CLOSER TO YOUR PERIOD. I THINK THAT EVERYONE THAT IS HAVING PROBLEMS NEEDS TO GO TO THE DOCTOR AND DEMAND WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU.

It's me again - I don't know who really keeps up with reading this site, but I know I do because it is very informative.
My most recent post was around V-Day, I think - and it was complaints of vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse - whether it was related to Yasmin or not. Anyway, the most bizarre thing has been happening for the past few nights. I take my pill at 8AM everyday, never late because my OB told me it was super important (plus it is kind of a test to see what happens because I had problems with Alesse) - besides the point... The past few nights I have had spotting between 7-8PM, and it goes away by the morning, and I'm fine all day long, until mid-evening, and it is very, physically irritating. I don't know what to do. I feel like my OB thinks I bother her all the time, I always feel like I have a yeast infection, and I am very down about this whole situation.
Everyone always says to take it at least 1-3months, so I think I will continue one more month to see if my body is strong enough to take over the weirdness. Other than kind of odd vaginal issues - I've been okay.
I'm get down because I'm frustrated.

My daughter is taking Yasmin and has been for about a year. She has cysts on her ovary and they thought the Ortho-tri-Cylcine wasn't strong enough. She has been extremely irritable since the first month on this pill. She was diagnosed with IBS and has had a terrible time with gas and bloating. She is up at night throwing up and has nausea all of the time. Her PMS is worse then before. Recently she started having breakthrough bleeding and complains of leg cramping and headaches. I thought all of this was just the IBS and her adjustment to college. After reading everything here I am making her go off of this pill immediately.

I've been using Ovcon 35 for 2.5 mos. now. I don't like it. I was on Mircette at first, but it wasn't strong enough for me. I had constant break through bleeding--weeks at a time for 2 mos! So I switched. Since I've been on Ovcon, I have gained about 6-8 lbs. I can hardly fit into some of my jeans. I feel like I'm retaining a lot of water. Today, I'm in the middle of the 3rd week of my pack and I had my period. Not just spotting--it's a menstrual flow. I'm going back to my gyno and I'm going to ask to switch to Yasmin.

I was put on Lipitor because of a one time spike in my Trigliceride. It was only 10mg for three weeks. Within a week my ankles were stiff and my feet heavy. I had cramps/pain in the legs. Within a couple of weeks, I had pain in all my joints and muscles, especially my legs. It has now been a year, and I've have been told that if I don't stop the process, I may not make it. All of my muscles have atrophied to the point that I can hardly walk. My spine is no longer being supported my my muscles so I have three torn disks. No one will address that problem because the muscles are not strong enough to undergo even the most minor procedure. In addition, my hips have seperated as though I had been in an accident. The only accident was taking Lipitor. I am desperate to find some help. Time is running out. I am already on CoQ10 and Fish Oil. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would greatly be appreciated. I have been to California with no help. Please, please, please. I will do whatever necessary to stop this horrific illness. It is beyond my imagination how they can get away with passing these drugs out like candy. Help, Dianne

Well, I wasnt too happy with it. I guess the estrogen wasnt strong enough for me or something because I have had very heavy bleeding at various times throughout the past 2 months and I have only been on it for three months. That and I have been extra moody and tired.

I was put on zyprexa along with another anti-depressent called effexor. I noticed that i started gaining weight and was hungry almost all the time. I also experienced nausea, and dizziness. I felt considerably relaxed, but i decided to go cold turkey off of both of them. I am experiencing dizziness, heart palpitations and vision problems, but they will soon be over. I feel strong enough to face my problems without medication.

Does anyone attribute these awful symptoms of the infection or medical problem you have??? I almost died from a large, infected kidney stone. The infection moved into my bloodstream causing major organ function to shut down. All of the symptoms I have read above are symptoms I experienced prior to levaquin in my IV. The previous antibiotic was not strong enough to kill the bacteria in the infection. Levaquin saved my life! You should discuss your feelings with your doc and not post your "opinion" to influence others negatively. Yes, afterwards I felt dizzy, lightheaded and my temp dropped 2 degrees, but this will pass.

I was on Loestrin for about 6 months. Main side effects were I was hungry ALL the time, no matter if I had dinner 5 hours ago or five mintues ago. I also had weird cravings. I gained about 10lbs on this pill and my breasts were a full cup size bigger and soar almost all of the time. I can say that moodswings were not an issue, which is the one of the only reasons why I liked this pill. My period completely stopped the third month, which was a plus, but I was more bloating while taking the pill than those short 4 days of the brown iron placebos. I am currently on my the beginning of my second week on aviane, the generic form of alesse and I am pretty sure I am experiencing severe moodswings because of it, but I am leary to think so because it is too early...has anyone else taken this pill?
