i was prescribed doxycycline for 7 days and it has really screwed my body up, i have experienced all the symptoms mentioned including a general strong feeling of unease and feeling like i have the flu as well as horrible reflux and stomach problems and its been 5 days since i stopped taking it and i am still experiencing these symptoms they seem to be just a little less severe. Can anyone give me any clue as to when i will recover from this or any steps i could take to help my body recover. thanks

I'm almost 20 years old and started taking BC to regulate my periods a few years ago and help with extreme cramps. I started on Yasmin and was on it for about 5 months and then started seeing a new OBGYN who suggested trying Yaz. I was on Yaz for about a year and a half and it worked great. But then I started getting really painful ovarian cysts. To help with the cysts my doctor switched me to another BC which made me extremely depressed and emotional. Now I am finally on Femcon FE and have been fo about six months. I haven't had a problem with another cyst again and things were working out fine... until about 3 months ago I skipped a period. No big deal I thought to myself, it is definitely not possible for me to be pregnant, its been over a year since I've had sex, so i figured it must just be stress or the way I'm eating or something..

Well it's been 3 months and still no period. I know most ladies would love to not have one but I'm starting to worry if this is something that is normal. I honestly don't know if it has anything to do with Femcon but I have a strong feeling it does because I haven't been stressed, my eating habits haven't changed and I know it is not possible for me to be pregnant. I am going to see my OBGYN soon if I still don't have one after this next pack but I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced the lack of a period as a side effect of this medicine because on this site I mostly only see women who have it too often.

Since my daughter second gardasil shot she has become tired all the time, she passed out on November 10 and was taken to the doctor. She orderd an EKG, chest xray and blood work. They called me that night and said she has an irregular slow heart beat ( which she has never had before). We went to a heart specialist the next day, he did an echo cardiogram and said things looked fine. If she passed out again, for me to call him and he sent us on our way. Tonight, while she was walking at work, it happend again. We went to E.R. and basically were told to follow up with her doctors on Monday. She is supposed to get the third shot in December, now i am afraid for her to get it. Im wondering if her suddenly getting the slow irregular heart beat, and passing out, irregular period, and headache is connected to the Gardasil. She is 17 and a senior in High School, she was planning on going to college, but now she is afraid to be alone, drive, or do anything that typical teenagers do.

I had the Mirena put in about 4 years ago , and luckily enough I haven't had that many problems . I started early menopause at 41 and it was recommended that i use the Mirena coil cause it replaces some hormones that I lose during the menopause . Also my periods has stopped and haven't had one for nearly 4 years .
The one thing I'm a little concerned about is that i've got a strong feeling that i'm getting my periods but nothing happening. Would there be any chance i could be pregnant , even though my friend who's a nurse says it's unlikely but the worry is there . I'm afraid to do a test in case it comes out positive !!! , I'm now nearly 46 ... any similar experience would be greatly appreciated .

After having the third shot I noticed my hair began falling out (July 2007). It is now over a year later and after having numerous blood tests, visiting a dermatologist and doing tons of research, I have concluded that gardasil must be causing this. My hair continues to fall out, I have bald areas around the crown of my head and my mood is very depressed by this. I also experienced soreness in my legs and joints but these are not constant. My periods also are out of whack. They can be between 28-50 days apart. I would not recommend anyone getting this vaccine. I wish my OBGYN had not sold me on it. I was 31 when I got it but she said age didn't matter, she said one day insurance companies would cover this vaccine for all women no matter what age they are. I paid $190.00 a shot and now I have a thin head of hair that may one day soon be bald if it doesn’t stop falling out. I think they should take this vaccine off the market. If anyone else has had severe hair loss, has it stopped falling out after a certain point?

If you have a history of uterine fibroids I would NOT use the Mirena! I have a history of uterine fibroids. Had Operative Hysteroscopy in Oct. 2006. In June 2007 started having symptoms of another fibroid. (I didn't know that at that time and I know now through researching it on-line.) I had the Mirena inserted in Nov. 2007. Complications in or about Jan. 2008. Large uterine fibroid discovered. Hysterectomy recommended and performed in April 2008. Went to Mirena website and it states WHO SHOULD NOT USE MIRENA. and on the list was...

Have a condition of the uterus that distorts the uterine cavity, such as large fibroid tumors.

My doctor should have never recommended this IUD!

Here is a quick list of my large fibroid symptoms after the IUD was inserted..

brown foul smelling discharge
pressure in the pelvic area
pressure on the bladder which made it hard to urninate
severe constipation
enlarge abdomen
severe pain in the pelvic area during intercourse.
I'm try if these side affects are to graphic but this is what happened after this IUD was inserted.

If you are considering using this IUD and have a history of uterine fibroids I highly recommend having an ultra sound performed. If you already have this IUD and are having similar symptoms insist on having an ultrasound.

I just went to the Dr. for my second Lupron injection and to get some help with the side effects. Menopausal/emotional me, started crying!!! Gawd! I went in with my list of side effects from the last 3 months (and it was long!) and wondered what was worse, the pain of endometriosis or the life changing side effects of Lupron. My Dr. is wonderful and spent an hour with me; he decided to put me on Provera (progesterone or add-back therapy) for a week to see if the side effects improve. If they do, I get my second dose of Lupron in a week. If not, we stop it all and let my body slowly try to get back to normal (although I have never known what "normal" is since endometriosis) and see how the "therapy" worked. He is strongly encouraging me to follow through with the 6 month course as that is the recommended length of time for the best results. I'm 5'8" and have lost 10 lbs. in the last three months, I'm down to 107 lbs. He told me to try and eat more if I could (although my nausea is constant 24hrs. a day) and make sure to take a daily vitamin and calcium for bone loss. He said that he has never heard of blurred vision to be a side effect of Lupron, "But every woman is effected differently." I'm really hoping the Provera works - any kind of relief is better than this! I'm still having 3-4 hotflashes every hour with extreme exhaustion/fatigue, night sweats, daily migraine headaches, nausea 24hrs. a day, life changing mood swings, and shaky hands. He kept reminding me that this only 6 months out of my life - it's not forever ... forever feels like an awful long time when you can barely get out of bed!

I am an active 63 year old male. I have been on 10mg lipitor for 5 years and have experienced a very gradual muscle degeneration in my legs, feet numbness & tingling and hair loss from my ankles up. I have been to a neurologist, two Chiropactors, and Physical therapy and got some relief, but these symptoms never really disappeared. Recently, my bad cholestrol level increased and my doctor doubled my level to 20mg. After a month, my symptons are now worse and I can hardly get out of bed in the morning with sore muscles in my legs. I have had full skeleton x-rays and MRI's and Bone Bi-op. and have been cleared from other problems such as cancer. I have a strong feeling that my problems are from Lipitor. My doctor is in love with the drug. I am going to stop the Lipitor for a month regardless and see what happens. Joe

Even i have realised that i have more earwax and the sore throat was literally killing me. I stopped the pill yesterday and today morning my throat is not hurting me much. My doc says its not related to the pill but i have a strong feeling that it is.
