Folks, I have put several posts and replies on here. I am trying to be advocate as much as I can. My family went through hell with this drug and my 4 year old. He has been off it since October of 07 and I can report that he is about 90% recovered. I finally have my son back!! I am a paramedic and have seen these effects on other children first hand! Aspartame is in almost everything. Sure some kids may be having a reaction to that. Most likely not. It may be the inert ingredients. Most allergists do not test for that. However I would be willing to put money where my mouth is and say that neither one of these scenarios is the case. Merck knows what is going on and has failed to do anything. WHY you ask because Singulair is their number one money maker!!!!!!! Please read my other posts. Yes I am very passionate about this. My innocent 4 year old had his world stripped from him. He could not understand the thoughts or pains he was going through. It was overwhelming. No child should have to go through that at any age. Just ask the mother on this board who lost her son from this drug. Trust me folks it can happen to you!! No parent wants to ever face that. It is unbearable. I have seen it first hand, more than I would ever like to. The only thing that we can do as parents is protect our children. Be an advocate. Contact your Attorney General, The FDA. Heck I even wrote Bill O Reily. Maybe if enough of us do that, things will change. My hope is that other parents as ourselves have done stumble upon this website and realize the problem at hand!! Best of luck to you all. My heart is with you as I know this can be a very challenging struggle.

I am still trying to figure out all this yasmin stuff. I am the one whose 13 yr old daughter was given yasmin as sorta a favor because she was having long periods. It seem to me that yes, yasmin or yaz whatever the difference is works well for lots of people. Thats great i'm glad to hear that. What about the handful of women/girls that it does not work well for even potentially dangerous. I am starting to thinkl that the ones that have had bad reactions to this are the ones that didn't have good followup with thier obgyn. It seems to me that there is sometimes no association made with bcp and some of these adverse reactions. I mean when my daughter started to get sick and stuff I took her to the pediat. not the ob/soccer mom. I just happened to stumble upon this site in my own desperation to figure out why my daughter has been and is so chronically tired all the time. I do wish when I recieved these sample packs of strong hormones that i would have been told of things to look for. Honestly ,I don't think this doctor knew of these side effects. I will say they stopped the bleeding she hasn't been on yasmin since the end of march and still hasn't had a period. I was told this should be out of her system by now. I don't believe that though.

I've been on Yasmin for probably over 2 years now. I was taking it continuously for endometriosis but if I forgot one pill or took it later than usual I would start BLEEDING, not spotting, and a lot of bloating and cramping. I also had a lot of stomach problems when I bled and I just got so very frustrated with the bleeding, stomach pain & bloating as well as the severe cramping that comes with endometriosis. Well I stopped the darn pills for about 2 weeks but I was worried about getting pregnant so I decided to get back on them. First off, I have noticed in the past week since I re-started the pills that I am getting cystic acne which is very distressing to me because I am 29 years old and I suffered from cystic acne for a long time before I got it under control with Accutane but not before the scar damage was done. I never even thought that the Yasmin could be causing it since I didn't have this problem prior to stopping it. I happened to stumble upon this website looking for help with pregnancy issues related to Yasmin users. I was just on Yasmin's website which said that recent studies indicate that women are the most fertile the first two weeks after stopping Yasmin. So I'm freakin' out a bit here because I was off exactly two weeks and my husband and I were quite "frisky" these past two weeks. Is there anyone out there that may have experienced an unexpected "quick" pregnancy right after stopping Yasmin? I already see that many people have suffered from the acne, I'm just not sure why it didn't affect my skin before.
