I had my second Lupron shot this last mid October that lasts, supposedly, 3 months. So I will be 5 months in this mid December and I have to say I was one of the people who was fine with Lupron...up until now. I had and have all of the typical side effects of hot flashes, headaches, memory loss, mental fog, etc. Then I had my first ever migraine a week ago that knocked me on my butt for 2 days. My memory loss and depression are by far, by far, the worst side effect I have experienced. At this point I am concerned my memory problems and mind fog will not go back to normal, which has already adversely affected by daily life. I was one of the people who spoke positive of this injection even after reading all the horror stories but now I am beginning to wonder if they were right on some levels. When reading all the different experiences I would get confused and wouldn't know what to believe. I am not saying I would change things, the jury is still out as to whether the benefits will outweigh the difficulties, but my personal experience and symptoms have been getting worse just in the last few weeks, so that would be between month 4 and 5 on it. I could lead a pretty normal life up until recently and I'm a pretty tough person, I clean houses for a living and work hard with a packed schedule so I am not just stating little symptoms I experience but ones that actually have affected my daily life. Just being honest so you know what to possibly expect, depending on your body's reaction. That is a point to keep in mind, everyone's body reacts differently but if the majority of people are saying the SAME side effects, makes you wonder if there is a consistent pattern.

One thing I will tell you that has helped me is B vitamins regularly in your system and staying as active as possible. Write things down to remind you for the memory issues, don't over-commit to things because of the mental affects-it hits you hard when you can't follow through, and try to watch your sugar intake, which messes with your emotions. Hope this is helpful.
I would love to know from someone who has the same symptoms (which looks like almost everyone who is on it) and who is now off of Lupron for at least a few months, if the symptoms of memory loss and mind fog go away. Is my memory permanently damaged?

My son is on the 15mg patch. He is developing OCD type behaviors-right now it is an obsession with his fingernails-always picking at them, getting dirt out from underneath them, even when there is none. We have tried adderall and this. I think I am going to try something natural. Any suggestions? He also won't eat or drink all day so we need to go a different route.

I was on Lamictal for 4 years and after the first year I suddenly started having all kinds of teeth and gum problems for no discernible reason. But since Lamictal has the possible side effect of "sores or blisters on the inside of the mouth" I wondered if it could be related.

I did a Google search and am coming up with no experts yet, but lots and lots of posts connecting anticonvulsant meds, particularly Lamictal, Topamax, Neurontin, and Depakote, with dental problems. Dilantin is well known for causing gum disease and breaking down tooth enamel, loosening of teeth, and even breaking down of jawbone tissue.

I don't think the experts have connected the dots yet, but is anyone else having this problem?

I am a 25 year old, who was perfectly healthy prior to recently when I was diagnosed with Nephritic Syndrome and Minimal Change Disease and possibly FSGS (kidney diseases) I was put on 60 mg of Prednisone for 1 month then I was lowered to 40 mg for one month and I am then dropping to 30 mg. I am also taking Fosamax for my bones and a Vitamin D pill because my last lab test showed low vitamin D levels.

I am dizzy constantly and can not live a normal life, I can not drive or do any activities that I had previously done. My chest is so tight and constricted all of the time, my heart rate is so fast and pounds at my chest. I have no energy to do anything, I can barely open a door at times. I am beginning to grow unwanted hair on my face. My abdomen is always bloated. I have pain in my rib cage, and shoulders. I feel very sore throughout my entire body. I do not really sleep at night, so I look very tired all the time.

I have actually lost weight, I have no appetite at all. I am down 10-15lbs.

Now for the Pro- my Kidney Diseases are currently in remission and this has happened much faster than the Nephrologist had thought.

I am very anxious to getting my life back to normal and getting off the Prednisone.

Has any one else experienced increased heart rate, chest tightness, or rib pain?

I wish everyone the best in their roads to recovery!!

My mother was put on Prednisone 3 weeks ago because of severe muscle pain (15 mg at first and increased to 60 mg). After she starting taking it she began to have weakness in her muscles/joints and was unable to walk by the end of the week. She also had severe water retention and could not catch her breath. Most of all she was very weak all the time and could not seem to sleep at all. She wound up in the hospital and was classified with a type of Congestive Heart Failure due to the excessive dosage given by a pain doctor. She had to be admitted to a Rehabilitation Center where they have now cut her down to 10 mg a day and she is trying to take Physical Therapy to walk again. She is fighting with depression and overwhelming feelings of anxiety. She still cannot sleep and wonders if she will ever by back to normal again. Just a month ago she was living a normal life and because of the pain, was given this medication. I wonder if the benefits outweigh the horrible side effects she has experienced. After reading some of the responses above I see others are having similar side effects.
Any encouragement from someone with a positive long term outcome would be beneficial at this time to her. She feels very helpless in her situation.

I took Yasmin for 2 years and about 6 months after starting Yasmin I started getting migraines at least 3 x per week and sometimes 5 x per week (before not even really getting many normal headaches). I thought it might be my birth control and saw my OB who referred me to a Neurologist who put me on a medicine for migraines. About another 5 months later I noticed I had a small bald spot in my hair line. Saw a Dermatologist who diagnosed it is alopecia. I immediately stopped Yasmin and migraine meds and decided to get an IUD (GREAT CHOICE!) My migraines stopped almost immediately, however my hair loss continues to progress. I now have 3 additionally bald spots on my head and areas on my scalp that are very thin. I feel great otherwise, no headaches, no depression (other than losing my hair), no anxiety, appetite is normal. I'm so desperate to find someone else that has had this specific problem as no one believes the hair loss is connected to Yasmin. I just pray after awhile the hair will grow back. Please if anyone has experienced this same situation please post what might have helped you get through it and if it does ease up! One more thing - I have scalp pain, like burning on the front and top and back part of my scalp, wide spread, not only in the bald areas.

After bith my childrens births I have experienced a enigmatic skin disease / disorder which has been unclassified by dermatologists and specialists. First I experienced blisters on my torso, which crusted over and followed with severe urticaria-like wheels all over my body. Doctors placed me on Prednisone 5mg tablets ( 40mg daily) for 4 months, in which time the symptoms subsided , but the side -effects for this Mother was terrible!!! I experienced a 12kg weight-gain, uncontrollable appetite, excessive sweating, dizziness , shortness of breath and extreme hairloss. My skin thinned and OI bruised very quickly. No diagnosis could be made. After the induced -birth of my second child now, I have the same episode and had been placed on Prednisone for the second time just to cope with the swelling.

I am currently in my 7th week of using 10mg - 15mg daily with an anti-histamine. I hate the re-occuring side-effects and am very scared of all the long-term damage. Does anyone have any idea how to boost your own natural immune-defence system while being bombarded witha immuno-suppressant like Prednisone??!!!!

I believe that your own body ws made to heal itself or be healed by natural means... but how and what?? I am desperate, and have been following a anti-candida like diet ( no yeast + sugars + preserved foods) Thus far I have not been able to kick the symptoms. Any help out there would be much appreciated. Have someone experienced the same sort of symptoms???

Is loss of sex drive a problem when you are on Topamax? Also, does the weight loss stop?

My wife is getting really skinny. She pops off at me when I ask her a question....and I have given up on sex.

She's free of migranes though and I guess that is all that matters. She's been on it for about a year.

I am 28 years old, I have been on Yasmin for 14 months and have had horrible depression issues. I am always tired. I can't sleep. I have absolutley no sex drive. I lost weight when I first started taking it, but have gained 19 pounds in a year. I am hypoglycemic and have to watch my sugar intake, just as a diabetic would. I was not told that there was potassium in this pill and that eating a bannana could put me in the hospital. I found that out though only after being in the hospital and feeling like I was going to die. I was put on Yasmin because I have problems with bleeding 3 out of 4 weeks a month. Trust me this pill is not what it is cracked up to be.

I am 30 and had my first Lupron shot last week. Needless to say, I have been exhausted, dizzy, nauseous and have been experiencing headaches on and off. I have also been experiencing chest pains but not sure if it is because of Lupron or not. One evening I did experience abdominal cramping so severe that it woke me up. However, since the location of the cramping was on the side where my endo and uterine fibroids are I attribute the pain more to that than anything else. No memory or speech loss but I have mood swings, am craving EVERYTHING and could eat constantly if I did not discipline myself. I am hoping to avoid the weight gain through exercise and monitoring my carb and sugar intake. I think it should be medically required to take a week off of work after every injection so we can deal with the side effects...sometimes it sucks to be a girl :-P

I'M 27YRS OLD AND HAVE SUFFERED FROM OCCATIONAL BOUTS OF ASTHMA ALL OF MY LIFE. THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS HOWEVER HAVE SEEN THE SYMPTOMS BECOME WORSE AND MORE FREQUENT, FEED UP WITH THE ASTHMA I WENT TO THE DR'S OFFICE WITCH I NEVER DO AND HE GAVE ME A SAMPLE OF THE 250/50 ADVAIR. I BEGAN TO TAKE THE SAMPLE ADVAIR THE SAME DAY AND BEGAN TO EXPERINCE SYMPTOM FREE DAYS FROM THEN ON. THE DR WANTED TO SEE ME 2 WEEKS FROM THE DAY I WENT TO VISIT HIM FROM THE ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT. TO MY AMAZEMENT WHEN I WAS WEIGHED BY THE NURSE I HAD WENT FROM 203 TO 211. I NEVER SUSPECTED THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE ADVAIR. ALARMED BY THE RAPID WEIGHT GAIN I BEGAN A RIGOROUS EXERCISE CAMPAIGN. TWICE A DAY IN THE GYM [ONCE IN THE MORNING 45MINS OF CARDIO AND ABS AND ONCE AT NIGHT 15MINS OF CARDIO FOLLOWED BY 45-60MINS OF WEIGHT TRAINING. I HAVE LITERALLY ATE GRILLED FISH WITH STEAMED VEGGIES TWICE A DAY FOR THREE WEEKS. IHAVE ALSO CUT MY SUGAR INTAKE TO ZERO NO SWEETS, COKES, STRICTLY WATER AND WATER ONLY. BOUND AND DETERMINED TO GET BACK INTO SHAPE AND LOSE THE WEIGHT I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE MUSCLE FATIGE W/SORENESS IN THE LOWER LEG ALONG WITH SEVERE UPPERBACK AND NECK PAIN, BLOODY STOOLS ALONG WITH FREQUENT BLOODY NOSES ACCOMPANIEDTHE OTHER SYMPTOMS. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT I WAS FALLING APART AT SUCH AN EARLY AGE. I COUNTINUED WITH MY DIET AND WORKOUT, HAVE TOOK IN THE PAST 3 WEEKS EXACTLY 3 DAYS OFF FOR RECOVERY AND WEIGH MYSELF EVERY MORNING BEFORE I HAVE INGESTED ANYFOOD OR WATER. THE WEIGHT HAS INCREASE EVERYDAY NOW UP TO 219LBS!!!! LOOKING FOR ANWSER I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR REASONS, AGE, METBOLISM, DIET, MUSCLE GAIN....ETC...ETC. NO ANWSER UNTIL TONIGHT. THIS SITE EXPLAINS ALL OF MY WORRIES. I WILL STOP USING ADVAIR TO GET MY HEALTH BACK IN ORDER I HOPE THAT OTHERS WILL FOLLOW SUIT.

I have been taking Effexor Xr 75 mg three times in the morning for about a year and a half. At first I experienced some weird side effects like you were experiencing, such as being tired especially in the morning. I started graduate school recently and I am doing great. The only side effects that I still experience are sometimes weird dreams and on rare occasions nightmares. However, decreasing sugar intake especially just before going to bed have helped with that. You shouldn't lie to your boyfriend. Depression is a weird disease that is for sure. Get so info and have him read it. Good luck and just remember you have your whole life ahead of you.
