I have experienced the muscle/joint aches (thought I was getting arthritis) and blurred vision, but never thought Advair to blame till now.
Had blood test and discovered my sugar level is way too high and now they're worried about diabetes! I see on the side effects that Advair can effect blood sugar levels. Anyone else have this problem?
I should add that I am not a normal diabetes candidate - no family history and I've been thin all my life.

I have been on Lisinopril for 2 months. About 2 weeks ago I started noticing small cough and I am dizzy off and on. I am a borderline diabetic which means I am not on medication for it. Let me tell you, Lisinopril suck! I feel like crap. I am always dizzy, I have to have things that have high sugar because my sugar level is always, always dropping. I feel really bad and it is getting worst. As of tonight, I will stop taking Lisinopril. I am due to see my doctor on Wednesday, Dec 17, 2008 and we will have a long talk. He is testing my blood. There is no way I will continue on this medication feeling the way that I do. I should have done research on the drugs like many of you did. My doctor assured me that Lisinopril was a good drug and it will help me with my kidneys since I am a diabetic. I believe drug has cause me more problems than what I had prior to taking it. I pray that my dizziness will stop and he will have to put me on something different. I am not over weight and I try to watch what I eat but, I will change my diet drastically and do whatever it takes to stay off HP drugs. This is really bad. I will come back with an update of what my doctor and I discuss. I thank all of you for sharing your story. I never knew that a drug could make a person feel like this.

Doctor prescribed Lisinopril along with Metformin about a year ago , he told me the lisinopril will help protect my kidneys from the diabetes along with reducing my high blood pressure. I started with cramping and shaking which left me bed ridden for days! I blamed the metformin, thinking it was reducing my bodys sugar level. In this time I started having these pulsating, center of chest, waves of severe hot pain, I went to his office and he put me on an EKG machiene. Everything was fine. I have these bouts every so often, along with lip numbness and severe pain that feels like my right arm is caving in with muscle spasms, my veins stick out in the effected arm along with a numb cold feeling!(goose bumps too?). My physician told me it may be GERD.He put me on protonics which helped for a while, but it is back! I also get edgy, have trouble staying asleep and walk around like a zombie in a fog all day long. I started getting strobe light migraines without the pain recently, wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms from Lisinopril? By the way my blood sugar is in control. Also on allopurinol with no problems.

I had a shot of Kenalog into my knee for a torn meniscus. About 2-3 hours after the shot, I started feeling very jittery and nauseous. Had to have someone drive me home from work. Called the doctor who administered the shot and he said it had nothing to do with the injection. Within 1 hour I barely had any strength to lift my arms. Called my primary doctor and she said to come right over. She said my heart murmur which is usually very soft and can barely be heard, was quite prominent now so she did an ekg, took blood and urine. The next day she called and said my sugar level was high. I had fasting blood tests taken 2 months earlier and never had a problem with my sugar level. Four days after the injection, I got my period so heavy (I'm 53 years old and before the injection my period was almost stopping). I have never in my life had a period this heavy. Neither doctor will admit that it had anything to do with Kenalog, but I'm certain it did. If this shot gave me diabetes, I will never forgive myself for getting it done... But, funny thing, the shot actually helped my knee and I can walk without pain. I'd rather have pain in my knee than diabetes and heavy periods.

I started Januvia 5 months back and have had fantastic fasting sugar level. I have dawn syndrome but Januvia put a stop to it. However, my hair is severe. My hair falls like leaves from a tree in autumn - all through the day. I am going to switch back to Amaryl instead of Januvia with my Metforming ER.

For those who become increased in thirst and urinating after taking Prednisone, you might want to check for your sugar level in your urine or blood.
I was recently on Prednisone for 2 days with 60 mg per day (3 pills of 20 mg) and I started to have severe lower backpain. I went back to see my doctor and found out that my sugar (or glucose) level was high in my urine (and the sugar level was same to that of a person with diabeties) and I stopped the medicine right away. I have been monitoring my sugar level for 5 days now and it is still high now especially 1 hour after meal (i.e >200 whereas a normal sugar level should ~ 80-110).
As some of you, I had anxiety, sleepless, swollen face after taking the medicine for 4 days but now these have stopped. However, the high sugar level still remains the problem of concern.
Do any of you know whether the high sugar level is temperoray problem AND how long the sugar level will come back to normal (being thirsty, blurred vision or sensitive to light can be the results of high sugar level).
Please advise.

I am taking prednisone for pneumonia. AND I CAN"T SLEEP!! I have about 4 more days and I can't wait. Last time I took it I had a psychotic episode. Laughing uncontrollably and then crying-sobbing. My husband was so frightened . I swore would never take it again but I can't breathe and I am wheezing. I know it works but it is very dangerous. It also affects your sugar level. If you are diabetic be cautious.

i was on prednazone until i was 5 years od. in addition to daily antibiotics (penicillin) and other concotions for severe asthma and allergies. i am now 33, and in deteriorating mental health. anxiety, depression, mood swings, you name it. my fiancee leaving has awakened me to how bad it is getting (not violent, but certainly extreme anger, rage, frustration) and i am tired of living with it. counseling is a start but i'm wondering if anyone has any info regarding long term psychological affects of taking prednisone for an extended period, especially during childhood. thank you for any info

I am a 50 yr. old female diagnosed with diabetes 10 months ago. Tried Metformin for a couple of weeks and feet started swelling significantly. Have been on Januvia and Starlix since March '09. Just spent 9 days in the hospital with PNEUMONIA in my right lung only. Drs. are considering the fact that I have a very ENLARGED LIVER (19 cm. avg. is 12 cm) to be the cause of my pneumonia and having 3 liters of fluid removed from right lung cavity as the cause for my pneumonia. Liver function tests show liver is working fine. Anyone else have enlarged liver problems or pneumonia while on Januvia? I'm off it now and dreading what will happen to my sugar level. I also take ENBREL for my psoriatic arthritis and stopped it when my pneumonia developed.
