Switched to Metoprolol Succinate ER from Toprol XL at 50 mg dose once daily. For control of heart rate in A-FIB in combination with quinidine gluconate. For several years, side effect of Toprol XL was the suppression of my cluster headaches. After switching to the generic ER, the headaches are back. Very clear association with the change in medication.

Diagnosed hyperthyroid about 3 yrs ago. So extreme they deemed it necessary to not mess around with supression therapy and gave me radioactive iodine. Was all done so fast I didn't have time to think if I was doing what was best. Anyway.....1 mg of synthroid. When I am on it hair loss, thinner nails, calf cramps that kill, anxiety and depression...because of the depression I don't take care of myself therefore I don't take my meds. ta da...i feel better when I don't and all the other symptoms go away too. After a few months I freak myself out that I dont have a functioning thyroid and need to take my meds. So I restart the synthroid and bam....here the bad things all start again. And the cycle goes round and round.

Its hard to say for sure what people will experience with any of these drugs, but its nice to hear from you all.
I am looking at whether geodon or lamictal is causing me these horride nightmares.
It seems both drugs can.
I started taking catapres, which is a blodd pressure med that has an off-label use to control nightmares which helped quite a bit...
but beware...missing a dose or two of caterpress will give you a rather bad day, as it suppresses adrenaline...which causes nightmares.....so imagine what happens when this suppression suddenly stops???? BAD.
i am tapering off geodon, i had no issue with it, but being seroquel is the only FDA approved anti-psychotic med to treat depression/aniexty....i will find out soon if the geodon was causing the nightmares or the lamictal. i will post later.
just know- for me..tappering off geodon is not going pleasant for me.
my doctor said the drug rep even mentioned it had a high side effect profile...
