I am a healthy, 36 year old woman and on 3/18/07 I was hospitalied for a blood infection caused by e.coli and was given levaquin intraveinously (sp?) during that time. Upon release from the hospital I was given a perscription for 750mg once daily for 10 days. In the hospital, I was having TERRIBLE HEADACHES- borderline migraines, HORRIFIC NIGHTMARES and was also sweating profusely throughout the night. When I got home and began taking the prescription pills, I continued to have the nightmares, nightsweats and headaches but then started having ODD TINGLING SENSATIONS IN MY LEGS, DEPRESSION, BACK PAINS & TERRIBLE NECK STIFFNESS/CRAMPING as well as INSOMNIA. (Right now it's 2:53 am and I am up writing this email). I am also noticing some pain in the tendons in my ankles and feet. After I read these postings I immediately flushed these pills down the toilet. I believe that these postings saved me from further suffering and possible long term damage. At this point, the cons of the medication seem to definitely outweigh out the pros. I am a mother of three (two of whom are under three yrs old) and I can't afford to have any lingering and/or debilitating side effects. Good luck to all and may God bless and keep you.
PS - It may be helpful if future posters would include their ages and health status pre-levaquin to help others in ascertaining risks, etc.

My husband was prescribed levaquin 2 days ago for a bacterial infection - 750 mg, twice a day! Since that time, he has had a horrible headache and is sweating profusely. He is experiencing nasua that an additional prescription to help nasua has not affected. He also has the shakes and has been in bed for 2 days. This stuff is horrible -

I am so glad I came across this site. I took Yasmin for two months, and I thought everything was fine. I went to my doctor today and my blood pressure has jumped from being completely normal to 140/110. This worries me a lot. Has anyone else had a jump like this, discontinued use of the pill and had their blood pressure go back to normal? I dont want to have high blood pressure long-term just because I picked the wrong birth control!!! I was reading through some of the other posts and realized that some things I was going through I attributed to other things but now think that Yasmin might have been responsible. Sweating profusely, especially at night, dizziness, headaches, moodiness, depression, suicidal thoughts, all kinds of bad stuff!
I'm really glad that I found this site and see that others have had problems too. Now I just wonder if other BCPs will do the same thing.

I have been sweating profusely at night and I am wondering if that may be a side effect of the Yasmin. I have been taking the pill for a month and half. Anyone?!?!

My son had the Comvax vaccine and he suffered side effects. He was sweating profusely, his leg from hip to knee was swollen, very hard to the touch, red rash (12cm X6cm) around the injection site and the redness felt hot to the touch My son is just not himself moodwise either. The doctor prescribed Redipred. I wish I was offered the old vaccine schedule with separate shots. I don't like these cocktail vaccinations.

I've been on Zyrtec for roughly 3 months now, and I out of the blue started sweating profusely from my arm-pits. I'm 20 years old, past the sweaty portion of puberty, and I've never sweated so much in my entire life. Even when I'm completely inactive I soak my shirt through.
Also, I've been feeling rather depressed lately, my once happy outlook on life has turned 100% bitter and cynical.

I have been on Toprol for about a month, originally 50mg, steadily increased to 200. I did have the temporary dizziness, sleepiness, and "brainfog" that others have mentioned, but also extreme fluctuations in BP and heartrate. I have awakened in the middle of the night, sweating profusely, my heart beating rapidly, and feeling my pulse in every part of my body. A few hours later, I was so cold, that I couldn't get warm, no matter how much I covered up, and felt too weak to do anything about it. I have also awakened with large bruises that I didn't have the day before, and bleed profusely when scratched or cut. In the past few days, I have developed depression, and didn't know that it was a side-effect, until I got on the internet, and started reading other people's stories.

Was given prednisone for an allergic reaction (to Wellbutrin, we think) -- 5 mg 2X daily. Didn't seem to work, so they put on 20mg 3X daily for several days, and gradually decreasing. It's been since Christmas eve with a rash on my arms and legs and it's better, but not completely gone yet. I still wake up scratching. I've been finished with the treatment for 2 days.
The side effects I've experienced are sweating profusely, anxiety (rapid heart rate, etc), night sweats, strange dreams, insomnia and CRAZY APPETITE. I just keep eating and eating and nothing tastes right. It took me two weeks to figure out that it was the drug making me eat. I've also experience pretty severe gas that disrupts my work day and home life (my poor husband had to leave the room!)
I'll be so glad when this is over!

Been taking Zolft now for 3 month. I was on xanax for years. In my opion the xanax was much better.
The side effects on Zoloft that I experience are : lack of sleep, vivid weird dreams, joint pain. The first 3 days while still taking 25mg I was at work and felt like someone had put a flame thrower to my head , I felt like I was sweating profusely but was really dry. I still take 50mg but at night time before I goto bed this solved the problem of feeling bad at work.
This drug however is a sex drive killer !! But read the reactions on the other med's you take and they are very much alike..
Good luck to all taking this med it affects everyones chenistry differently.

I am a 56 year old female given this drug after gall bladder surgery I left the hospitaL feeling almost decent I woke up in the hospital with sweats after they gave me my dose. When I took it at home my first dose I took a nap woke up with no strength in my legs in the middle of the night I had two episodes of sweating profusely. My thinking has slowed I fell like my life was zapped from me. Now I know why my potassium was so low in the hospital. I am sitting here wanting to cry. I have to support a family this is awful that no one knows anything about these drugs. I am mad get this stuff off the market. It is taking me so long to just think of what to write. Wow what if I wasn't smart enough to figure out what it is.

I have experienced profound dizziness during the "inactive pill" week. It varies month to month, but this month it was so terrible, I couldn't walk and I was sweating profusely. I just put a call into my midwife to see if this was normal. While I'm on the active pills, I feel pretty good, and my periods are short and comparitively light compared to how they were before I started Yasmine about 6 months ago. I don't know that I want to go off Yasmine, but I can't call my husband home from work 2 or 3 times per month to watch my girls either. Any suggestions out there?

I am really glad I read the other posts here. I see a pattern. I tried the NR for the first time about 12 days ago. I got a dull headache from it right away and my stomach didnt feel right although I never threw up from it. I thought I was ok until 5 days ago (Saturday) when I burst into tears over something little right after I woke up in the morning. I went to my weekend waitressing job and burst into tears again over something little. I had such mood problems that day that I worried most of my co-workers and smarted off to people which I never do. My manager was really worried that I was acting so strange. On Sunday I just wanted to sleep all day because I was upset. I freaked out and cried until I choked myself just because my husband was going to be home from work later than scheduled, which is a regular occurrence in his line of work. On Monday when I went to my office job I was in the bathroom all day feeling sick. After that I went to my waitressing job and got really moody again. My manager had a pep talk with me and I thought I was ok becuase Tueday and Wednesday (yesterday) my mood was much improved even though my stomach was still really upset. Well - today I burst into tears on the way to the office, could not shake it off, and left the office an hour later (around 9 am) to try to calm down. I felt better so went back about 10:15. Worked about an hour, felt sick in the stomach again. After almost fainting while opening the bathroom door, I spent the next 15 minutes sweating profusely while I hung over the garbage can waiting to throw up. I'm 29 years old and had to call my mom to come pick me up and drive me home. I thought I had a panic attack or a nervous breakdown by now. I slept a little, woke up with nausea and crying and got online to see if NR was why. It sort of sounds like it. I am trying to decide if I should just pull this NR out now or stick it out until day 21. I am afraid I might lose one of my jobs for being so moody and saying the wrong thing - or hurt my husbands feelings worse than I already have if I don't get rid of the NR, but will I make matters worse if I do? I need help!
