I had Mirena inserted 09/30/2008 under general anesthesia as I was also getting a D&C. I bled for one month following the insertion. Throughout the next 4.5 months I have experienced the following symptoms: shortness of breath daily, foul odor when spotting which was pretty much daily, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain I swear I could feel exactly where it was it was achey, pain on the right side of my stomach, muscle pain and joint pain throughout my body and this last side effect started in January 09, 3 months after insertion which was the straw that broke the camel's back as new side effects were starting instead of diminishing. I felt like I had the flu and it never really went away. Many times I had to leave nights out with my family as I felt so ill. I had it removed 02/10/2009. My doctor acknowledge the odor and ran a pH test -no bacteria was found, my body was just not tolerating the Mirena. She did not blink an eye when I asked to have it removed but only asked me if I was interested in any other type of birth control. Last night I woke up sweating, dizzy, pounding heart and having a very difficult time breathing accompanied with a lot of bleeding. Withdrawal symptoms?! I think so. I knew that removal of Mirena would cause my body to react and it is. Today is much better and I am on the road to recovery. All of my aches and pains are gone, I'm still bleeding but not heavily and the shortness of breath is better but not gone completely. I'm hoping all side effects will be gone shortly. What a nightmare - thank God it is out of my body!

Hi, i have been on NR for only 5 days, these 5 days have been VERY hard for me, my emotions are screwed all up, i feel sad and depressed when i have absolutely no reason to be. I have never felt this way before, not even during pregnancy. I have been getting headaches, i feel bloated and hungry all the time. I have even experienced flu like symptoms...shortness of breath along with body aches, unable to concentrate. I have been feeling VERY tired. I am a very active person, always on the go doing something... ever since i began NR i do not have the energy to do anything at all. I can not wait to go home and take this thing out of me!!!

I was put on Loestrin24 Fe to control bleeding until such a time as I could have surgery. I took the first pill and started experiencing a sever mood swing right away. I became angry and depressed. My breast were tender. after a month the Anger and Depression were out of control. I was as hateful as I have ever been. My relationships were effected by my extremely negative attitude (which is completely out of character for me) and my sex drive well there was none. I suppose that is one method for birth control.... I started to notice fatigue, couldn't get out of bed had no energy, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath. Blood Clots...NOT FUN... NOT SAFE...

I noticed my old self returning almost immediately after stopping the pill. I don't think I cracked one smile the whole time I was on them. I am glad to be off and I will never take birth control again.

Please please if you are having sever symptoms. Shortness of breath and chest pains. DON'T WAIT to be TOLD to get off of them.... GET OFF OF THEM and GO to the ER immediately. YOU are talking about your LIFE...

Hi my history started from last couple months when I realize my bp went up very high(160/100) so I started metoprolol succinate 25mg,for couple days i felt fine and my bp went down but I noticed some pain in my right side so i thought maybe is the liver problem and i started to get off. After a week i was suffered from withdrawal(first week i decreased dose to 12,5mg)then my bp was very high so i called doctor and he prescribed metoprolol 100 mg and lisinopril 25(i never used this one)and hydloxiazyde 12,5 and i felt better for couple weeks then I started to get heart palpitation and very low bp so I quit hydroxiazyde and now I'm on toprol xl (oryginal brand) and still have chest tightness (i switch metoprolol to toprol one day ago)and how you guys divide the tablets to get exact amount its hard

I am a 41 year old male that has BP averaging 140/90 and spikes that were extremely hi 190/125 (which landed me in th ER). Lisinopril 10MG was prescribed last Friday. My BP came down immediately yesterday 111/75 today 109/69. That is the only good thing. I have a headache, dizziness, feel disoriented, had urges to urinate and nothing would happen. Yesterday while trying to walk, wash my trailer, or even chew a piece of gum whatever muscle I was using became soar immediately. They felt as if I had run a marathon or something. Today after one flight of stairs to get to my office I was short of breath and my leg muscles hurt. I had to go lay down at lunch because this stuff makes me so tired. It is like I have been poisoned. As I'm typing my fingers hurt and the metal taste in my mouth has me thinking I want to trash this stuff. The doctor says they haven't herd of these side effects and and they said to cut the pill in half.

I am 34 yrs old and new to oral contraceptives. Have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a month and a half and have noticed the following symptoms: shortness of breath, sore/tender breasts, vaginal dryness, extremely dry patchy skin (from otherwise having very oily skin), 2 periods in one month, hungry all the time - which has lead to overeating and weight gain, feelings of despair - lots of crying and mood swings, periodic tingling sensations in feet and lower legs.

My first period on the pill was shorter and pain was dulled, but second time the period was longer and had pain every day of my period which is unusual for me.

I think its time to jump off the Loestrin 24 ship...

I took lisinopril for high blood pressure for 3 months. During that my physical condition gradually but steadily deteriorated. As I write this, I am off the lisinopril now for 3 more months and very slowly recovering.

My symptoms included cough, shortness of breath, loss of stamina during exercise, frequent stomach and intestinal cramping and burning sensation, sweating, severe acne break out on the chest and back, difficulty concentrating, loss of sleep quality, and weekly spells with low grade fever.

The symptoms started appearing gradually, and I first noticed them about 2-3 weeks after starting lisinopril. The cough was mild at first. It never got that bad really, but I found there was a cycle. If I coughed in the morning, I'd generally feel better, and when I didn't cough for a few days, some of my symptoms (shortness of breath, loss of stamina) would increase. Then I'd finally cough again and be a bit better for a while. As time went on I started having more bad days than good.

After quitting lisinopril for 3 months now, the symptoms have faded, except I still have the occasional cough (yes three months later, though its finally almost gone), and some shortness of breath. My energy level & stamina are very slowly returning, but still not normal. I am now finally having more good days than bad. Within a week after quitting lisinopril, the symptoms all faded noticeably, and have been slowly going away with time.

It seems to me that there is something seriously wrong with this medication.

About me: I am 42, male, generally good health. I took the lisinopril because my doctor felt my blood pressure was too high. After complaining about the various symptoms listed above, my doctor recommended separate additional medications to treat the individual symptoms, not recognizing all of them together as side effects. I finally figured it out myself as things just kept getting worse. Since I have quit, I have started jogging to help with my stamina. My blood pressure has gone below 135/85, and am now not taking any medication for blood pressure (or anything else).

Immediately after quitting, my blood pressure went quite high (160/95) and stayed that way for a week, I think that was due to quitting the drug quickly. Still, for me personally, I'd rather have done that then take one more dose of this so-called medicine.
