I started taking Levaquin on Thursday October 4 for a sinus/throat infection. 5 days later and I feel wired out of my mind. Strange thoughts, increased energy intertwined with panic, wrist/hip pain, very little sleep. Severe stomach pain, constipation, nausea and vomiting, gagging reflex. Also mouth sores, and terrible taste in mouth. This has me very concerned. I am grateful that this isn't my imagination. Thanks for this forum. Why is this drug still on the market. was put on toprol 25mgs. one year ago by my heart doctor, for tachycardia which only happened after stress. soon thereafter i developed a numbness in the toes of both feet. i saw my my intrenist who didnt know what it was from. i left the country and was livinf abroad until aug 07. while ther the paresthesia of my toes got worse and started traveling up my foot and half of my calf. saw my internist and was advised to see a neurolgist. he put me thru a series of blood test and an emg. all came up negative. went back to the internist and asked her to review my records from sept 2006. first thing she noticed was that i had been started on toprol. she told me one of the side effects is paresthesia of the feet and or hands, and advised me to cut the dose in half for a few weeks and then in half again in a effort to wean me off of it. its been only 3 days since i began to cut down and already the numbness is starting to decrease. has any one else experienced this? does it go entirely away? please write. hopefull

I started getting very exhausted with lower back pain and had felt like I had to urinate constantly. I went to my doctor and found out my gall bladder and pancreas was inflammed. I am now waiting on more lab results and 5 days after stopping my sypmtoms are still the same. I am at the point were I have missed 2 days of work because I have been so miserable. My boss is pissed at me, like its my fault. Thanks vytorin and your unsafe ways. Just say No to statins!

I originally went on 10mg of lipitor a day in January,2007, experienced leg pain, muscle ache and weakness,so after 3 weeks went off the drug on my own.In June 2007 after talking to different Dr's I went back on Lipitor,10mg, figuring that I had not really given the drug a chance as sometimes side effects do subside after a while.I saw my Dr on July 3rd & my cholesterol had gone down to 170 in about 3 weeks.I told him about my symptoms, which were the same as before & he told me to let him know if they got worse.By August 30th 2007 I just could not tolerate the pain and achiness all over my body,I was not sleeping well as every time I turned in my bed I woke up from the pain ( We even got a new mattress fguring maybe that was contributing to the joint pain) My joints became swollen & red,I could not lift up my arms, they were so sore and weak,my neck was so stiff that it was hard to drive and have to turn my head,I had a constant headache and what seemed to me like a"fuzzy brain"I am 63 years old and have never experienced anything like this,I am an active woman with a great deal of energy and people who know me could not believe what was happening, instead of scooting ahead of everyone I was barely keeping up.I found myself not wanting to eat as my stomach was constantly bloated & in pain & I was gaining weight too.
I went off Lipitor on September 1st and the withdrawal sypmtoms have been horrendous, I went to see my Dr yesterday & he put me on an anti inflamatory drug ,I have taken 2 dosages & am already feeling an improvement. This web site really helped as I felt I was not alone suffering from the side effects of Lipitor. Many people I have talked to have experienced the same symptoms but were attributing them to aging.

I have been on the Nuvaring for about 3 years, i just recenlty got off the ring because i felt like i needed to give my body a break for a while. I am seeing a doctore because i have had severe headaches, i exercise 3-5 days a week, and had to actually stop beause the headaches were so severe. I am always exhausted, i wake up in the morning after sleeping 9-12 hours feeling like i don't want to get out of bed. I realized after getting off of it for about two weeks that the nuvaring may be causing my sypmtoms. But i also feel crazt off of it, i have been extremely emotional and feel like my boyfriend of 6 years does not care and he does! It is taking a toal on our relationship i am only 24 years old and should not have all of these sypmtoms. I also have experienced dryness, itchiness, discharge on the ring. Also no sex drive whatsoever I really love this method of BC it was so easy, i always forgot to take the pill, and i tried the patch but felt it made me crazy. I have no idea what to do now that i am off of bc because i do not want to get pregnant but I feel like my hormones were controlled while i was on it and i don't want to feel crazy. Any advice?

I have been taking levaquin for 4 days, after not having any sleep, severe hot/cold feelings, almost like being rubbed down with Icy Hot, shivering but sweating, leg cramps, metallic taste in mouth. Went to the Dr. and was told I was healing fine, (had 5 treatments to bust up a kidney stone with a stent inserted) and that he was at a loss for why I was feeling so bad. He made me feel aweful as though my sypmtoms were in my head. I am glad I found this forum, what a relief of mind!

Several months ago, my doctor switched me off of Pulmicort and onto Advair 250/50, in addition to the Singulair and Zyrtec that I take. Yep, an asthmatic with allergies...ain't life great?

At first, Advair did control my symptoms better, as I was able to excercise without feeling chest tightness. However, other side effects, such as an extremely dry throat, and hoarsness to the point of pain while talking--let alone singing--has occured. I've also noticed increased tightness in my throat, and weight gain. Now, I had a fairly sedentary lifestyle before, but always maintained the same steady weight.

These side effects are extremely troublsome for me, because I am a professional singer! Since taking it, I have lost the upper part of my register, and have pain while singing anything more than a few bars. My doctor has decided to lower my dose and send me to an EMT, however, my pharmacist thinks I should switch back to Pulmicort. My sypmtoms were not as well controlled, but at least I could function.

Hi all: My wife has been having problems for about a year and when we started talking about them with our counselor, I realized that the problems began the same time she started taking Topamax.
She takes 100mg a day, (4, 25mg pills every night before bed)
Thinking back and thinking currently, she has had memory problems, problems holding objects, NO SEX drive, has had problems thinking clearly, moody and is mad at me a lot. This has all lead to problems in our marriage.
I'm trying to see if these side effects are common!
I have read some posting from others that show some or all of these sypmtoms occurring in themselves or their loved ones.
I love my wife greatly and have mentioned not taking these pills anymore, but she has resisted. I'm hopeful with some research and some more first hand accounts, that I can convince her to give this a try and possibly save our marriage.

Thanks to any and all who can help.

Hello! I went off of Effexor 75mg @5 days ago. The withdrawl symptoms came back with a vengeance. I have tried 3 other times to get off of this drug with no success. Not because of depression, but the physical withdrawl sypmtoms were terrible. I immediately experienced dizziness, "zapping" in my head, nausea, extreme fatigue; all the very next day. I had tried in the past to taper off, same effects as quitting cold turkey. This is day 6 and still have the same syptoms. It's very hard to function at my job and driving is a chore also. I am determined to "not" go back on this or any other drug like this ever again (Lexapro, Celexa, etc) I will say I felt fine while on it, but I'm sick of not being able to lose the 30 lbs I gained while taking it. I want to be able to handle lifes curve balls as they come without any drugs. I will keep you all posted as to how long this goes on. Take care all, and we have to hang in there!!!!!

I have been taking Advair on and off for about 2-3 years, not regularaly. Recently I noticed that my hands and feet started to become numb more often, and I had a tingling sensation in my hands as well. When reading all other side effects those have effected me as well. I have gained 25 lbs in the last 2 years, my hair is somewhat thinner and now I have developed a low grade fever and a dry cough. I wondered, did anyone start with some sypmtoms, but have them get progressivly worse with continued use?

27 yo male. Never take any drugs if I can help it. I was perscribed doxy for a bacterial infection. 2 days into it all my symptoms are gone and I'm still taking it like you're supposed to with antibotics.

Tonight at school, all of a sudden the room starts spinning. My heart starts beating wildly and I'm feeling nasueaous. I was scared half to death. I excused myself from class and called the doc who said that this is typical of this antibotic and to stop taking it. We'll I'm home now and still feeling very woozy. Other sypmtoms are: hot flash in back of neck, teeth clenching, rush of nasuea, then feeling of being tired. This is all similar to "rolling" on X, but without the good feelings.

Also, for those of you with stomach probs, the paperwork that comes with the drug says you should not lay down for 30 mins after taking because of the erosion of the esophagous.

I'm a Sunday starter about to finish up her 1st month of Yasmin. (I will finish the active pills on Saturday.) The first week was fine, but on Monday of the 2nd week I began experiencing extreme fatigue and nausea in the mornings, diarrhea, complete loss of appetite, and I lost ten pounds in less than two weeks. I have also been very anxious -- but as a cancer survior, I am typically anxious about my health so this may not be caused by the Yasmin. These sypmtoms were so bad that I went to see my general doc, instead of the gyn, suspecting that I had come down with some sort of virus. They have tested me for mono, thyroid problems, diabetes, and even Hep! All tests have come back negative...but I am still experiencing the symptoms. Yasmin is the only change I've made to my routine. I am going off this pill as soon as I finish the pack, despite the doctor's claims that what I'm experiencing can't possibly be related. I really think it is this pill ... we'll see what happens once I go off it.
