I take it at night, 60mg, and have constant terrible nightmares, even if I take a nap the next day.

I am a 27 year old female and have had high blood pressure since I was 15. I have been on beta blockers my whole life like (Labatalol and Toprol XL100mg/day). I have never noticed any side effects with those, but my doctor just switched me to Lisinopril because my blood pressure on Toprol is 135/90 and when I am off it is 160/105 so she said the Toprol really isn't working. So, I have been on this medicine for a week and a half now and I think I would rather take my risk of a stroke and have high blood pressure than to continue to take this. I have nausea each day, upset stomach, my appetite is gone and then when I do eat I feel very full and bloated, I am shaky on the inside, foggy headed, I cough in the morning, I have been waking up with a sore throat that goes away within a few hours, but I am not sick, I get a weird dull headache in the afternoon, pounding heart, and I feel crazy like a crackhead. I have been crying for the past three days and feel depressed, confused and my mind won't stop racing about stuff.
AND my BP has been 130/80 so nothing has changed. I am having a hard time focusing at work and I just want to go take a nap because I am so worn out from fighting with the racing thoughts and shakiness. I am going to a new Dr. today to see if I can take something else, but as of today I will no longer take Lisinopril.

i've been on the nuva ring for a year now, and i started having complications about 6 months ago, when i contracted Bacterial Vaginosis, then after that cleared up, i got a bladder infection, and ever since i've been battling yeast infections non stop! i've gained 15 pounds in the past 6 months, always hungry, and in the past 2 months, my right breast has swollen tremendously and there is a constant pain on the side of the breast, i get strange headaches and find myself taking ibprofen for them 3 times a week, i get home from work at 2 am and sleep till noon/one and wake up feeling like i want to go back to bed or take a nap 3-4 hours later, i have a fiance and our SEX DRIVE IS BASICALLY GONE, i never want to engage sex, oral sex doesn't feel good, and when sex begins, it feels like needles scrapping my vaginal wall no matter how much lube we use, and after about 20 min when the session is over, i'm sitting on the toilet with a warm wet wash cloth, holding it to my vagina cuz it burns and stings so bad!!! my fiance just felt horrible and told me i bet it's the ring that is causing all these symptoms, i cried and cried cuz i'm thinking what is happening to me? i went from sex 3-4 times a week, to having sex once every 2 weeks only cuz i felt bad that we wern't doing it enough, and i suffered through it, so after we talked about it and going to see a doctor, i looked up the side effects for the nuva ring and found this site and my fiance and i are relieved to find out what the problem is, i just took the ring out and threw away my next 3 months of it, cuz i am DONE!!!

Woke up at 4:30 on Tuesday morning... can't remember if I woke up before or after my cat was coughing and puking up a large piece of folded up packing tape.. But then I noticed my right side of my chest hurt when I tried to take a deep breath. It's in my lower right chest, behind my ribs, and lower than my right breast. I just took my nuva ring out a at 4:45, and maybe it's just a placebo effect, but my chest felt a little better right away.
I put the nuva ring in on Thursday, June 28th, and have been so sleepy since that first night that I've felt compelled to take a nap every day, whether I wanted to or not.
Woke up Sunday night with an itchy eye, which I rubbed, then fell right back asleep. A couple of hours later Hannah (my 3 year old) woke me up because she'd peed in her bed, and after cleaning her and her bed up and getting her back to sleep, I went to the bathroom to pee, and when I looked in the mirror, my left eye was extremely swollen. It watered a lot, and the eyeball looked slightly red, but it didn't itch. I read about swollen eyes online and fell back asleep with my laptop on my lap at about 5:30 am. On Monday my eye improved over the course of the day and now it is about 95% back to normal.
On Saturday Hannah and I stayed over at our friends' house on the beach, and I woke up around 5:30 AM and noticed that: A.) The birds outside were chirping and making a ton of noise, and B.) On both of my hands, my pinky and ring fingers felt like they'd fallen asleep. I wondered if I slept on them in a funny way, and wiggled them and kept changing positions for about half an hour before they regained good circulation and I fell asleep again.
I don't remember if I woke up Friday night or had any health issues on Friday.
On Thursday, the day I put in the Nuva Ring, I had a terrible headache that was barely managed with advil and acetominophen. I had a headache the day before that was less severe, so I assumed the two were related. That night I fell asleep sort of involuntarily at about 10:30 pm, which is very early for me.
I normally sleep through the night without waking every night that Hannah doesn't wake me up, but not since I put in the nuva ring.
I am feeling quite a bit better now at 5:10 am on Tuesday, and will lay down again and try to sleep.

I am extremely exhausted after being up for only 6 or so hours. When I take a"nap" it ends up not being the usual ten minute refresher but a 4 hour zonk, and I wake up even tireder. I usually am energetic and get a lot done but I have spent so much time sleeping that I get way behind my to-do list. I had one 60mg shot on June 5th for psoriasis. My psoriasis is slowly disappearing, and I don't have an indentation at the shot site. Also, my skin feels young and supple, not dry and scaly like before. I also read somewhere that I could get "feelings of self importance" and "misplaced suspiciosness" as side effects.

I was prescribed Singulair in an attempt to prevent nasal polyp regrowth following a third sinus surgery. Began taking it on February 2, 2007. After about the first week noticed difficulty sleeping. Would wake frequently and then have difficulty going back to sleep. A couple of nights later, I had a sensation that someone was standing over me and choking me. I awoke screaming at the top of my lungs. Next, came the depression, total feeling of impending doom, death and misery. I cannot put into words. Would go get a haircut and wonder if this was going to be my last and would it look good in the casket. Next came the lethergy, I would wake up exhausted, sit on the couch all day, watch tv then go take a nap and go to bed at 6 p.m. Other side effects I noticed were total loss of sexual desire or ability to attain or maintain an erection, headache, and digestion problems. I stopped taking this on March 7 and am slowly (very slowly) returning to my former self. Does anyone know how long it takes to get this out of your system totally? - I have never had any issues with depression or sleep in the past so am convinced these issues are related to this drug.

Just a update I have taken 3 of the Lexapro and Iam very tired and dont feellike myself
I also didnt sleepwelllast 2 nights
Of course had all these symptoms prior to Lexapro
I will say it got rid of the creepy crawling under my arms that I suffered with for 6 weeks. It was like restless arm syndrome and it went away only 3 days on the Lexapro keeping my fingers crossed it doesnt come back.
Dejay also is on lexapro a week ahead of me and just so you all know she is doing so much better.
She was awful 2 weeks ago and now she is laughing and decorating her Christmas Tree.
I was really worried about her as she and I have become so close.
She swears she has no side effects from the Lexapro
I feel tired and kind of blah
I need to get back to work and get back on track and its so hard and so frustrating
I only slept 3 hours last night and wish I could take a nap but I cant.
DJ is seeing a therapist and she said the checmicals in our brains were altered by the stupid pill but that we will be back to normal.
I hate that I had to take a pill to get over Yaz/Yasmine as I said I didnt even take a Tylenol prior to this experience.
Does anyone else have any experience with the Lexapro??
Cant believe I had to take it
I too had been to the Emergency like 7 times in 7 weeks everytime telling em Iam fine except the first time I was anemic.
The last time I went to the ER the doctor told me to see a shrink.....he didnt believe a pill could trigger this
Dejay and I are so mad about the pill
It has stolen a part of our life and robbed a part of our soul
This experience forever changed us both
We have to do something everyday innocent women are taking the pill only to end up where we are today! Its wrong
Very very wrong
I have had pharmacist my doctor other doctors tell me its not the pill well it was the pill or the effects it played on my hormones
It made me a person who never took medication in my life have to take Lexapro!

I have a hard time getting up and walking after a nights rest or sitting for a while. I also have severe headaches and blurry vision. Sometimes I cannot see as it seems I have something blocking my vision. The headaches are behind my eyes and at the base of skull and the top of my neck. Also shoulder pain and low back pain. These pains go away if I take a nap.

I have been getting the 7.5mg injection once a month since July 2006. I had a uterus the size of a 5 month pregnancy and have several fibroid tumors. My uterus has shrunk (not sure about the fibroids) but I have been having so many side effects I don't know if I would do this again if someone told me about them. Thankfully my last shot was Sept 8th and I will have a hysterectomy in October. I did lose the stomach but regained it with the weight gain!!!! My bones are always aching, constant teeth ache, headaches (mild migraines) every day. Now I have been experiencing dizziness and nauseous. I have been coming home from work the last couple of days because of this. I am so tired all the time - I take a nap during my lunch hour to just get through the day. Oh and the memory loss is so difficult for me. I cannot even remember co-workers names. I can't remember what I was supposed to do when I get across a room. I have to set a timer to remind me that I am cooking dinner!!!! I would definitely not recommend Lupron for any long time use. If my doctor told me that I would have to get another shot - I would say NO!!!!

I have been on Gedon for about 3 months for schizophrenia. I am mostly happy with it. The only disturbing thing is sometimes I have trouble breathing. I can breathe, but I feel like I'm not getting any oxygen. It usually lasts about a half hour and goes away if I take a nap. Other than that, I had some muscle tension at first, but it went away. I'm glad that I am on it instead of Risperidone. I hated Risperidone. On Geodon I actually regained some of my sexual functioning. I mostly feel like myself again on Geodon.

My daughter was put on the lowest dosage of singulair that is available at 9 months old. I could not figure out why she wouldn't stop moving, she actually looked like she was on speed. She crawled around non-stop, I could not get her to take a nap, she would not eat, because her stomach kept churning like it was upset. I got really concerned after 2 days of this and I looked up the possible side effects of singular. What I found weren't side effects, but signs of an overdose...you might want to check the dosage if you are having any of these reactions to this medicine.

I am 51 years old i have been taking this medication for over 20 years. I was taking 2 pills a day which was helping me a quite a bit. My son was just born when i started and he is now going to be 20 years old. I have servere arthritis on my knees and i need to have knee replacement on both knees. No im taking this darvocet 4 or sometimes 5 a day and it really helps me to stay on my feet. I cannot stand on my feet for over 10 minutes i'm in pain and i want to cry. I am on disability and this pill has help me to much . It also gives me energy makes me want to be on my feet cleaning and also helps me with my sex drive. I want to be with a man for a longer period of time, and yes i feel a little sleepy so i rest when i want to , i can take a nap at least twice if i want too. If i want to stay up all day i do its all a mind thing. It does give me a little stomach pain if i take it with a empty stomach, other wise it really helps me . I will take this medication for as long as i have to because i do not want to have surgery on my knees. I also have back pain but i feel fine when i take my medication. I also take naproxen 500 mg and lisinipril 20mg all in total i take 5 different medications twice a day. But i will not stop taking my darvocet because without it i feel weak, i cannot move without feeling pain all over. I feel like im 80- years old when im not taking my pills, but i feel like im 30 years old when i taking this medication it really makes me feel energetic , happy , very good sex drives and i can live with this forever. Hope this will help someone, who is confused, about this drug. I have 6 sisters with the same problems knee problems and my mother who is 68 years old and she also takes this for pain.

I have been on Yasmin for about 14 months now after having my son. My side effects of yasmin include depression and severe fatigue. No matter how much sleep I get I feel like I have had zero! I have black circles under my eyes and I have no strength to do anything at times. I feel like I don't get any sleep but I do, I even take a nap in the afternoon with my son. I am 21 years old and I feel much older than that. My husband is drove crazy by angerynous and we fight all the time. I am thinking of stopping it and just using the regular birthcontrol...CONDEMS!

-I have been on Effexor XR for almost 1 year @ 150mg.
When I was first on the drug I would feel the dizziness, brain shock, etc, side affects if I went roughly 2 days without taking the drug (on accident). In the past few months I start getting severe withdrawl side affects (dizziness, brain shocks, etc.) as soon as it hit 24 hours from my last dose (If I took a pill at 2pm on one day, by 3pm on the next day I was having severe side affects).
What seemed to be unrelated at first was the fact that in the past 2-3 months I started to have severe sleeping problems. I got extremely worse in the past 2 months as no matter what time I went to bed it became extremely difficult for me to wake up before 10am - 11am (which obviously affected my work). It was the hardest thing in the world to drag myself out of bed, no matter what time it was (it was almost impossible for me to get out of bed before 8am). I would then work for a few hours and come home and take a nap. I went to my Doctor (same one that prescribed me the Effexor XR) and he sent me to a sleep study thinking that I might have Sleep Apneia. Immediately after that a friend recommended trying to get off of the Effexor XR and as soon as I started weening down my doseage, my sleep went back to normal. In any regard, I was able to ween myself down to 37.5 MG for a couple of weeks and have now been off of it or 3 days and it has sucked. I've tried getting off before and have many horror stories as other people (the following horror story is one that happened about 2-3 months ago when I tried to quit cold turkey once from full 150 mg a day doseage, not a good idea!).
This is somewhat funny & scary...I had gone about 2-3 days at one point in trying to cut cold turkey from 150 mg a day(I was also out of pills) and was suffering from severe withdrawl affects and decided to drive to my pharmacy to have it refilled because I could not take it anymore. My pharmacy is one that is in a large grocery store...so while it was being refilled I tried to find some granola bars so I would have something to eat to take with the medication. I was so dizzy and confused that I had to call my wife (fiance at the time) on my cell phone. I had to ask her to help me find the granola bars (this was a store that I often shopped at) and was standing in the middle of an isle with tears streaming down my face begging her to help me over the phone. I'm a 30+ year old professional who is 6'2" and was (prior to my weight gain recently) a healthy 250 pds, and was reduced to tears in a grocery store trying to find granola bars. The storry is sad, true, scary, and slightly funny all at the same time.
I've also managed to put on about 25-30 pds in the last 2-3 weeks as well. One of the side effects I personally got when I went too long between doses (or now in trying to stop completely and was feeling after reducing doseage) is a weird nausea feeling (I suppose similar to the one others have felt too). If you've ever felt nausea from being overly hungry, this is the type of nausea feeling I get. I feel like my body needs some food to help it feel better, so I eat and eat, and it's a very temperal relief (unfortunately, even the temporal relief doesn't always come), then the nausea is back. Hence the 25-30 pounds in the last 2-3 weeks.
In closing, I think it is sad that most doctors probably do not fully understand the drug. I know the manufacturer states that the side affects occur in about 10% of those that use the drug. However, I wonder what the percentage of severe side affects is in those that try to come off of the drug? I'm sure it has to be very high as the only thing my doctor made clear was to talk to him when/if I want to ever come off of the drug. THESE SIDE AFFECTS FROM COMING OFF OF THE DRUG ABSOULTELY NEEDS TO BE MADE CLEAR TO PATIENTS BEFORE THEY START OUT ON THIS DRUG!
Thanks,
M

I got my shot a few days before my wedding and it was the best gift ever. Before the shot I spent four years dragging myself around with lupus and chronic fatigue. Prednisone made me insane and miserable. I've felt like my old self again, for the first time in four years. I didn't have to sneak out of my own reception to take a nap. It's only been 6 weeks and I think it's wearing off. I wish it would never wear off. Reading these posts, it appears that as with other steroids, it is a trade-off. I'd gladly walk around with a dent, just to be walking around.

I am 41 and I started Yasmin 4 months ago. Almost immediately after I started I noticed a change in my breasts which were already a size C. They hurt constantly and now I have pain underneath my left breast that radiates to my back. It's scaring me because I thought it was my heart. My legs swell and go numb and I'm exhausted all the time. Sometimes to the point of not being able to function unless I take a nap. I have a couple pills left and I'm not going back on after I start my period.

OMG! I started taking Levaquin 500mg yesterday for a severe kidney infection. I think I was giving a shot of it at the doctor's office and then sent home with samples for 7 days. All day after recieving the shot and taking one tablet I had intolerable sweats. If I just got up to do the least little thing I would pour the sweat. Not to mention everytime I would lay down to take a nap I would wake up with soaking wet clothes. I still feel very nauseated even after taking a topical Phenagran (?Spell?) I feel very very dizzy and light headed and my heart seems to do a little quiver every few minutes. Mind you, I am only 21. After reading all of these horrific stories I too will call the doctor immediately and get off of this medication!!!

I have only taken it for 4 days, to fix endometrium thickening, and an ovarian cyst. I only have to take it for a couple of months. But, this board makes that seem difficult. I have stomach pain and a little nausea, not severe. I also have a headache, not a little one either. If I take these in the afternoon, I want to take a nap a little while later, do they cause sleepiness? No breast tenderness yet, but it's welcome if it results in a size bigger :) I do have some major zits, or boulders, or something to that affect. That stuff started a few weeks ago when I had to take Provera for 10 days (that's a mean drug!)

Hello. I want to warn everyone who takes Levaquin to be extra careful.( This is my third post here. )After taking just 8 Doses of Levaquin last month. I now am under Doctor care for the side effects. I am on Vicodin for pain .(which does not help much) I have to get blood work done every week ,Sometimes twice a week. My Doctor is talking about putting me in the Hospital if things do not get better. I will need IV Fluid for dehydration, I now need to see an ortho doctor for my hips , legs, and feet and shoulder. I used to walk all the time. and now just riding to the store ,I come home and take a nap. I can not go anywhere by myself. My mood swings are horrible and I get depressed so much easier now. I wish everyone luck . You all are in my prayers.

I have been taking Vytorin for about 10 weeks. During this time, I have experienced aches and pain in my neck to the point of tears. Hands get numb, lower back, now....knees, joints, fingers, hips, EVERYTHING HURTS. At first I thought it was due to the fact that I just started work (bar tender/food server) which requires a lot of lifting, reaching, stretching etc. As far as I know all that motion would make me healthier. Right? Common sense tells me......hmmmmm if I've been working for a month and I still HURT and it's getting worse....what the????? The Dr who prescribed the Vytorin then suggested that I go to physical therapy; The PT told me that I had strains in my back from working. What the? Then I'm told that I'm experiencing aches and pains because I'm in recovery????? What the????? I'm in so much pain when I wake up, my hands are stiff, I can hardly move my entire body. This is like it's a drug induced fibromyalgia. I'd rather go home to the Lord from high cholesterol than live with this pain. Today I am stopping the Vytorin. I had one of those AH HA moments that was posted on this site. It's really sad that I had to do the research on what has been the cause of my aches and pains; when the first thing any doctor asks.....what medications are you taking? BOLD LETTERS......VYTORIN!!! I'm going to take a nap, try to rest the next two days off work being that I have a doctor's excuse to do so after marching myself to the medical facility where I live and BEING ANGRY and letting them know........I should not have to have had to diagnose myself. WE ALL KNOW OUR BODIES....I kept insisting that I hurt so bad and it wasn't from "work" or being in "recovery". So, I certainly can relate to all the posts. I'm going to be 50 on 12/19 and I feel as if I'm 80. Thank God (lol) I "look good". A sense of humor goes a long way......but it's so hard to not be a little grouchy when we hurt, right? You are all in my prayers.
