Not sure my story applies to most women, but I'm having to take a double dose every day because I haven't stopped bleeding since my son was born in April. I'm scheduled for an ablation which I am not happy about. This is a procedure which is supposed to stop the bleeding permanently. They actually burn the blood vessels inside the uterus to seal them off. I just wish the bleeding would stop on its own like it's supposed to. It finally did stop after a week of taking Femcon fe, 2 at a time and so after three weeks I cut it down to one a day - hoping nothing would happen, but I started bleeding again the second day. I guess I should count my lucky stars that I'm not having migraines. But the nausea and bloating and extreme fatigue and depression are what made me find this site. I've also gained weight - even since starting to exercise again! Seems like every couple of days I just hit a wall and can't carry on any more. Im lucky to have a supporting husband who takes over the care of the house and kids for a few hours while I have a meltdown and some rest! I have two more weeks to go and I'm really hoping to never have to look at another birth control pill again! What the heck was the point of having my tubes tied during my c-section if I have to take pills anyway AND get my uterus messed with? Right now I feel pregnant all over again -- just without the wonderful package at the end of it!

Hello all!! I have been on NR for around 9 mos. I think that this is a great method of BC for me, a person who forgets to take pills and gets rediculous nausea from pills. However, I'm wondering if anyone experiences NIGHT SWEATS? I sweat so much at night, that everything is soaked and I often feel like something is crawling on me and its just perspiration. This is gross! I've taken many 2am showers because I can't stand it. As I read some of your entries, I noticed that fatigue is mentioned. I thought I needed vitamins, more blood, or just 24hrs of sleep. I wanna continue to use this method of BC, but can't stand these two problems.

I've been on it now for about a year b/c it is a slow release in hormones and I get migraines from all the other pills. I've noticed a lot of what some of the other posts had noted such as:
- constant discharge (I always feel wet and dirty)
- a smell coming from the area all the time
- mood swings like crazy
- Absolutely NO SEX DRIVE
- fatigue (although this has been a new one I have come across in the past month, so maybe its not related)
none of this is really attractive at all, and I am seriously contemplating going off of it. Does anyone have an suggestions for people who get severe migraines from the pill???

I've been on NR for 15months now.
My breasts went from a 32A to a 34C (people think i've had surgery)
I used to be 107lbs. Now I am 130lbs. I eat salad & lowfat cottage cheese for Lunch and dinner and i cannot lose ANY weight. I just don't know what to do.
I went on this because I had VERY bad ovarian cysts and i cannot take pills (allergic to binding agent) and what's worse is that the Depo shot made me an absolute lunatic.
Now that more weight has settled on me, I have found myself depressed from that and for other very silly things. I started a new ring 2 days ago and after reading this board, I want to run in the other room and take it out! I'm done with NR, somehow I'll find a way to deal with the cysts.

Hi Sarah
Thanks
Iam going to try and wean off of it in one month I cant stand having something foreign in my body!
I dont take pills I dont even know why I took Yaz I guess because my doctor said it would be good for a ovarian cyst I had and I trusted her!!
I cant sleep either now dont know if its the Lexapro or the Yaz help its horrible!!!!
Does anyone know if it is going to be no problem to stop the Lexapro.
my doctor said she isnt treating me for anxiety but a induced anxiety so I should be able to come off easy Iam terrified of stopping and feeling this way again!
B12.......I was taking liquid B12 drops???
But than my doctor told me it was adding to the anxiety
I believe in my bloodwork B12 was tested but not positive if not I will go get it checked via bloodwork!
Had to have a mouth cyst removed today yes induced by the stress of Yaz by a ENT he said to be careful with Xanax and any antidepressants. He said that it appeared that the anxiety wasnt leaving no matter what I tried....eating drinking alot vitamins walking baths massages acupuncture. I was getting massages 3 times a week.
The anxiety wouldnt pass I still have it some today
But I wanted to heal all on my own not by another drug
So frustrating
Dejay is well she was in a bad way she was crying every day losing weight I was in the ER once a week she was in her bathroom.
Our symptoms were so severe I lost my job she couldnt take care of her family and we were crying suffering every single day with no relief it was the most horribliest thing in my life.
I just need some advice on if anyone thinks in 30 days I will be over the hump and the anxiety gone??? So i can stop the Lexapro???
Please advise

hello peeps...I used to use injectibles for contraception for 1yr and 6 mos, however due to weight gain i have decided to take pills instead..so I told my Gyne I wanted to take pills and I want to take Yasmine because they say it could help lose some weight?(is their any fact to it?), however my Gyne has given me other pill instead, it's called Gracial, but I told myself I would definitely change to Yasmine after the pack is finish...however, after reading all these side effects i've decided not to...just wanna thank you guys for all these comments, i might as well go back to injectibles if the same side effects appear on Gracial (i hope not)...this site is really informative and it could definitely warn people who wants to try yasmin..tnx again :-)

Oh my god. I'm 17 and today I went to the 24 Hour Clinic because I was absolutely at my wits end - ever since I got my period it's always been irregular; and after I'd heard that the Pill can control your cycles I thought I'd try it out.
I get there, and the doctor recommends I take Yasmin. I read the little booklet inside and sh*t myself because of all these mentioned possible side-affects... so then I decide to do a little research; see how other people cope with it - and to be honest it's not looking good. All I want is for my period to be regulated just so I can go swimming, and maybe get a little action lol... so I was thinking I'll trial it and see how it goes, but as soon as I feel different/horrible/break-out or anything bad like that I'll stop. I don't ever take pills or anything like that so I'm not used to putting things like this in my body. Hopefully nothing too horrendous will happen.
Fingers crossed aye.

I have been on Lipitor for almost two years, started having knee joint pain, was pooped all the time but added that up to my being 53 years old with a bad back. Then I got a very pronouned erratic tinnitus in my right ear, but the doctors could find no reason for it. Live with it they said, it is age. Ok. But now everytime I try to add a new pill into my body, the Lipitor fights it. I get a terrible burning in my chest, that works down into my both arms but it is not my heart. I get sick to my tummy and just feel terrible. It happens with any or all pills I try to take. So now off the Lipitor for 6 weeks while my doctor checks things out. But you know my knee is better, I can take pills again and my anxiety is better. I am not going to take Lipitor again. I knew there was something wrong, why won't doctors listen. Who knows our own bodies better. Thank you for this site, it has showed me so much.

WOW!! i'm surprised to hear so many bad things about yasmin.
i've just started my 6th month with it and feel pretty good. fortunately, i don't share many of the side effects that many of you have posted here (knock on wood). the only ones i can say i have, which are not that strong, are dryness and itchiness with my vagina, a loss in sex drive, and moodiness. the discomfort with my vagina is much less now than when i first started, and because i'm consciously aware of my moodiness and loss in sex drive, i can act consciously about it. hMm.. does that make sense?
before i went on the pill (this is the 2nd one that i have tried; i only stayed with the last one for 2 months), my periods were super heavy and lasted a week. my last period was the shortest ever, at just 4 days and was totally manageable.
i deplore the idea of having to take pills on a pretty daily basis, but the patch isn't an option where i live and in my lifestyle of always being in the water. all i can say is, so far, so good.

For a year I had all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, rapid heart beat, muscle weakness, no sleep, bulging eyes, weight loss, etc., but the drug Evista masked the thyroid lab tests. When I ceased taking Evista, a subsequent lab test showed extreme hyperthyroidism. No doctor treating me knew of the connection. After treatment with nuclear medicine, I became hypothyroid and required Levoxyl. Dosage is monitored and has remained at 75 mcg for two years. I am "cured" because my thyoid is now normal, and I have absolutely no side effects from the Levoxyl. I am a 70-year-old woman who hates to take pills, but this is mandatory. I had lost 15 pounds and in two years have gained 5.

I have been on Nuva Ring for about 7 months now and at first I loved it. It was great not having to worry about taking the pill everyday and with 2 small children who has time to think much less take pills. I started having problems about 3 months after taking it...bloating so bad I looked 4/5 months pregnant, gas pains that would wake me up at night, heartburn/acid reflux. I have been through numerous tests to try and find out what is causing my stomach pains (ct scans, ultra sounds, blood work) now the Dr. wants to put me on Paxil after putting me on Prilosec and Gas Relief Chewables. Nothing is working, I can't stop the bloating for nothing...its interfering with my everyday activities. Not only is my stomach an issue but my moodiness is TERRIBLE. I hate EVERYTHING, I dont want to be bothered...leave me alone is my new attitude. I have always been a moody person but this is severe. Everyone around me says I need to be on "be nice pills" and that makes me even angrier when I hear that. I cry/laugh/get mad feel like Im screaming inside...I am still taking this stupid thing listening to the Dr. saying the Nuva Ring doesn't cause these side effects, but after reading all this I think I'm going to take it out for a couple of months to see if anything changes.
