I JUST started Loestrin 24 Fe (day one) and have been reading many articles and websites (anything from the literature in the research journals to the Mayo Clinic posts). I have just read through this entire site and took in all the feedback from the women who have shared the side effects. I have NEVER taken BC until now. I am trying it to keep monthly bleeding and mood swings to a minimum. BUT, I see some serious side effects (depression, acne, weight gain) - these seem worse than just dealing with the monthly symptoms and taking some pain relievers.
Should I STOP? Any advice from veteran birth control users?

I'm glad I came on this site.. My GYN gave me Femcon FE because he saw that I have a cyst on my left ovary. I hard horror stories about birth controls, like weight gain, acne, and nausea.. I am afraid of all three of those.
He told me to start taking them over the weekend and I asked him will there be any side effect and he told me that I would like the pill.. I just gave him a look and said I will be doing some research on this pill and if I read any stories about bad side effect I will not be taking them.
So thanks guys for your comments...
I WILL NOT BE TAKING THIS PILL..
I'll just wait for the cyst to disappear on it's own.

I had been on doxycycline for 4 1/2 days. I was out in the sun by the pool briefly on day 2 with 45 sunsreen - no problem. On day 4 was out by the pool with 45 sunscreen and within 15 minutes I began to feel strange. My face and arms and hands felt like they were burning. I went in the pool to cool off and found that my hands felt like pins and needles, like I had put them in menthol, and that I had fine string on the tops of my hands. (I didn't. It was just that sensation). I called the doctor who didn't think I was having an allergic reaction and suggested I take my next dose as prescribed to determine whether these symptoms were actually from the doxycycline, to which I said "no thank you." I'd really rather have theses symptoms dissipate than possibly escalate. This is day 5 and the symptoms have decreased but my hands are still tingly in water even with rubber gloves on. Additionally, I am also allergic to penicillin. Is anyone else? by lmhsea

i have been taking Yamine for about a month and a half, after being on a generic pill for a couple years. I didnt know if these symptons i was having was caused by yasmine, but now i think it may be. I have been getting lightheaded, blurry eyes, shakiness, hot flashes..almost like a panic attack, and i have become very dehydrated, even though i have been drinking alot of water. I even went to the doctors for these symptons and they still don't have an answer, so i think it may be yasmine.my newest sympton as of yesterday is chest pain. also i feel like my heart is beating fast all the time, and i feel fatigued way too often, which is causing me to eat more, becauase i am starving way to often, and if i don't eat i feel like i am going to collapse. Also my sex drive has gone to non-existant- is that common? I workout all the time, and eat pretty healthy, so i don't know what else these symptons could be coming from. Is anyone else experiencing these sympons?

i think what we need to understand is that all of the posts provide information. maybe its not the information you want to hear but all this information will maybe help us come up with some answers and although one person might feel like certain posts are unnecessary others might find it valuable. i understand its frustrating what we are all going thru, but if you thought you were going to find an answer here you wont, what you will find is thousands of women on yasmin for months or years who have all delveloped serious side effects while on the yasmin, coming off the yasmin and after yasmin even months later. if you are new to this site please take the time to read the posts skip over the ones that dont give you the information your looking for and realize you are not alone and even though the doctors tell you its not the yasmin over 2000 users tend to disagree. we do not have the answers as to why this hell pill put our bodies through such havoc we just are here to communicate about our personal experiences and update others on any progress or any tips as we continue to become more knowledable and refuse to give up one day we might have answers.

The perfect little partner. I love Ambien, because of my occupation, I often find my sleep pattern shifting from day to night and sometimes "none". So, needless to say I have trouble maintaining a normal sleep pattern, and somewhere along the line developed a mild case of insomnia. Ambien is great.
The only side-effects that I have noticed are the mild hallucinations...but is this "really" a side effect? Ambien is classified as a hypnotic, so of course you are going to be drowsey and experience mild distortions in time, space and certain realities...but nothing scary like that from actual hallucinogens...If people don't take the time to read and teach themselves about the chemicals they put into their own or their childrens bodies, they shouldnt get upset or scared or mad about what they experience.
Personally, I somewhat enjoy the 10 mins of mild hallucinations just before I go to sleep...it's a little bit entertaining. As I said, It is listed as a hypnotic, it is part of what helps you fall asleep.
Know your drugs before you take them people.

My daughter is 10 and the one where I wrote earlier today about her having seizures now from this medication and being on seizure medicine for possibly the rest of her life.
This drug is dangerous and there have been 2 CHILDREN under the age of 5 DIE from this.
I have contacted a attorney and will be pursuing this. Please take the time to email me at ****** or call ****** to have your name added to the list because we have to have alot of people working together to get this off the market.
Merck is a powerful company and it is a shame that doctors care more about kickbacks from prescribing these drugs than what effectst hey can cause our children or adults.

Please if you have or your child has had any serious side effects to this drug- please contact me at the information below.
THERE HAVE BEEN 2 CHILDREN DIE UNDER THE AGE OF 5 FROM THIS MEDICATION... This is terrible!!!!!!!!!
And the fact of the matter is that the doctors care more about their kick backs from the companies like Merck than our childrens lives.
I have contacted a attorney and they have my case on file and have asked me to get as many contact names as I can to be added to this list.
I am looking at my child being on seizure medication for the rest of her life.
Please take the time to contact me Kelley ***
We have to get this drug off the market.

I took 10 days of levaquin. I have hearing loss, tinnitus, memory loss, and dI can hardly walk. This was from taking levaquin 10 months ago. I had mettalic taste, nightmares and psychotic episodes that have eased up over the last three months. The other problems will be with me for the rest of my life. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because others have died and others can only get around in a wheelchair. This is not mob mentality. This is the truth if you care to take the time to read about this horrific drug.

So far so good with me. I didn't know what I was dealing with everyday until I started taking this. Sometimes you are so busy you don't take the time to realize you have a problem. Sexual side affects are the only real problem. I sleep well and have vivid dreams. Also take Xanax 1/2 to 1 tablet for anxiety attacks, which aren't often now. Have gained some weight but small sacrifice for feeling good.

Hi,
I had a systemic allergic reaction to an allergy injection. I was treated at the hospital with Benadryl and Prednisone. I was told to continue to take both, but still was having problems with sinus inflammation related to the reaction a day later. I saw my Dr. who told me to up the Prednisone and start taking Singulair.
-- By napagirl2007 | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meWell I started having side effects worse than the sinus inflammation I originally had within a few hours of taking the Singulair. I totally chalked them up to Prednisone side effects, since that drug has so many issues. But the side effects were different than those listed from Prednisone, and different from the last time I had to take Prednisone for an allergy attack. I had INTENSE head pressure (not just the sinuses, but everywhere), muscle tightness/pressure in my neck muscles and at the base of my skull. I don't know if this was a side effect or not, but I had freezing hands and feet, also VERY cold.. except my face was hot. I also got hot flushes occasionally in my body, like on the backs of my thighs. I also felt "out of it".. very dizzy and slow to respond. I was also very confused by why my sinus inflammation was not really responding to the Prednisone since it is such a strong anti-inflammatory. Well, I stopped taking the Singulair last night after reading this site, and I am feeling back to normal! Even my sinuses have unplugged. I suppose this could all be something besides the Singulair, but I am not chancing it again.
