I take 25mg of Toprol XL for mitral valve prolapse. The only thing is I feel tired like I could fall asleep all the time. Is this common with this medicine on such a small dose. My doctor said this small dose shouldn't bother me. Anyone else take this dose and feel tired?

I have been on Femcon FE for about a month now and I have had the worst headaches of my life. My blood pressure has increased from about 110/70 to 180/100, and I have had to start taking blood pressure medicine. Needless to say I WILL NEVER TAKE FEMCON FE AGAIN AND NEITHER SHOULD ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!!

I have read a lot of these blogs and I am seeing that many other people have the same side effects. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was in 6th or 7th grade I think and I am now a high school senior so about 5 years taking Synthroid. the doctors said that my antibodies had completely destroyed my thyroid gland so I wasn't getting any of the hormones I needed which became very noticeable when I started gaining weight and loosing energy in 5th grade. I haven't really seen any weight gain in a while but I still look like I am overweight. I am 5'6 and 130 lbs so I am about average. Side effects that are also occurring are rapid mood changes, one minute I am happy and something sad happens or I think about something and ill be tearing up. I feel depressed a lot. I am currently on 150 mcg. also during 9th and 10th grade I was put on this drug to stop my puberty so that I could grow more while on the Synthroid I guess it helped a little with height but I still look like a freshman. I don't know if I should stop taking it or keep taking it because I stopped for about a month once and started getting really sick, I would get really bad nose bleeds at random, had constant migraines and felt sick to my stomach. I started taking the Synthroid again and felt fine. I really don't know what to do.

I believe Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, and coughing can be a side effect of an ACE inhibitor. I was treated with another ACE inhibitor a few years ago for my BP. My husband would tell me my coughing was getting on his nerves. I constantly would have very frequent coughing episode like I was always clearing my throat and sometimes so much that I would gag. Some nights I wouldn't get sleep because I would cough during the night and wake myself up. I talked it over with my doctor and he changed my blood pressure medication to Avapro which is an Agiotensin Receptor Blocker which after a few days after coughing for months the cough was gone!!! My insurance carrier would no longer pay for Avapro and now I am taking Diovan and still no cough, and my blood pressure is controlled!!! It is important not to stop taking blood pressure medication without talking to your doctor. Coughing is not listed as a major side effect, but let your doctor know about this coughing you experience, he should pick that up as a side effect of the ACE inhibitor, and if he agrees to change your medication you should notice a difference if he gets you off The ACE inhibitor soon after changing meds.

Like everyone here I have a lot of the same symptoms. Since starting zocor, I am on medicine for depression, gained weight, can't sleep well, tired all the time, legs egg when walking. My biggest concern and I didn't notice anyone having this problem; I am wondering if zocor can make your blood pressure rise. I stopped taking zocor about three weeks ago and my blood pressure (yesterday) was 128/68...perfect for me 55 year old woman. Prior to stopping the zocor (and taking blood pressure med's) it was 140/88. I stopped the b/p medicine too.

I am on 150 mg of Toprol XL daily for about 2 years. AFter I started on the Toprol within 3 months I noticed my hair was much thinner. I did not associate the two until the next time I saw my beautician, and the first thing she asked me about was if I was taking blood pressure meds. Her experience with many heads of hair had given her this knowledge. I have found others who say the same. My doctors say they have never seen hair thinning as a side effect. Does everyone have to go bald before this is acknowledged?

Lupron is terrible! I was given lupron after my lap which discovered endometriosis. I had my second injection last week. My pelvic pain is still here and now the Lupron side effects are killing me. I have insomnia, restlessness, bad mood swings, back hurts all the time, fatigue all the time, depression, headaches, and awful HOT FLASHES. I was not given other options but to take this poison. If I had done my research I would have said hell no to Lupron. It's all about the money...Dr's and pharmacy companies are making the big bucks while most of us suffer. Oh yes, and my blood pressure, which is normally low (110/60) is now up to 150/100. I'm not thinking this is too great for my health. And another sad thing is that the long term effects are not really known. I WILL NOT take another injection. I would rather take my regular endo pain over this in a heartbeat. Don't let them fool you.......Lupron is a VERY BAD thing. Anyone who is thinking about....do you research and think long and hard . Is it worth it? I don't think so...

I have taken Lisinopril for a long time. Not sure when it came into the market, but seems like I been on them a few years. I been taking blood pressure meds for about 10 years. I am 53. Not sure when I was switched to Lisinopril. I have fought most the symptons that are on this website. I have never connected it with Lisino and neither have my doctors, even at Mayo Clinic. I always check out healthy as a horse, except, they write this off to having Fibromyalgia. I have had long periods of time when I did feel I could "catch my breath" It's like the feeling of holding your breath in, till you need to really breath badly. So you breath, and that feeling seems to stay to a large degree. Extreme Fatigue, walking 100 feet and back sometimes. Dry cough or clearing Phlem all the time. Dizzy for like, 3 years now, weakness in legs, pain in legs even in the morning. They carry a burning with them like if you were working out, but it burns like that if you just walk a short distance. Bad insomnia, so freaking tired, but the sleep button just doesnt kick in. Sometimes totally exacerbating as far as the fatigue is concerned. Do not know if its connected, but can tolerate the soap isle in the grocery store, I can just feel it suck any energy out of me. Hot flashes, ear aches..not infections, they just seemed to stay slightly inflammed. Lots of stiffness in neck and shoulders, and lots of just skin pain, across my back. So for years I have been fighting this fatigue and pain and we will see if it's connected to Lisino or not. Let me add also, when the fatigue is greater so is the brain fog and/or lethergy. Lots of headaches. I was feeling so weak not long ago, I thought it might be MS. But Dr. Said MS is not painful, and my legs, especially thighs, and hip joints hurt a lot. If this is caused by taking Lisino, I would have to say, I am about 10% of the man I used to me, Physically. Might as well throw a sexual activity report in here. All the plumbing works fine, it just the concern if that's where I want the energy to go for the rest of the day. Sometimes and physical excertion, the best way to describe it, it like an exahusting "flare", It will kick your butt and put in bed. Like, hmmm, think I will move the couch over there...bammm. Okay, I am done. I just wanted to be a bit detailed, it might help others out. If it is Lisino, I am sure it will take several weeks for me to get it off and out of my system, but I will write back. I hope this may help someone else out there.

I initially started taking Lipitor from my doctors prescription about two and a half years ago, after I was diagnosed with type two Diabetes. (as well as taking blood pressure medicine and a diabetes pill twice a day) I didn't really notice any side effects for a about a year and a half,(I now realize that I was starting to have them, but didn't know they were attributable to lipitor)until about 8 months ago when my doctor increased my liptor from 20mgs to 40mgs. She did this because the cholesterol limit had been lowered.

I immediately started to get more tired and fatigued. Lots of muscle aches and lethargy. I noticed more tingling (especially at night or upon waking)in my right arm and especially my fingers on both hands. As well as feeling of having arthritis. I previously had some tingling and shoulder pain in the past, but I had always attributed this to the fact that I am a cameraman and carry cameras on that shoulder. (I had memtioned some of my pains to my doctor 8 months ago and she sent me to get an x-ray for my neck and shoulder which ended up negative.) At this same visit 8 months ago, my doctor increased my Lipitor dosage and then I really had more noticeable problems with my right neck, arm, elbow and fingers. I could not sleep on my left side because my whole neck would tingle, and I was having severe pains in my right elbow like tennis elbow, I also developed a trigger finger (kind of a bad arthritis feeling)where I can barely close my right middle index finger. It hurts and throbs most of the time, and I can't close it normally without pain. And when I try to open it up, it kind of pops open like the knuckle is stuck...I am going to get it x-rayed. It was also very hard to concentrate, and my memory was getting worse.

I recently went to see my doctor about all this fatigue and muscle aches. I asked her if my symptoms could be from the lipitor (because she once said to tell her if I develop any bruises or muscle aches) and she said they could and that some people won't take statin drugs because of the side effects and that people do a lot or research on the internet. Anyway, she was going to schedule a blood test for muscle enzymes that would possibly show muscle weakness from my prescriptions, but she looked into my mouth and said Aha! You have strep throat! And she totally blamed all my symptoms to strep throat and prescribed antibiotics. She even said that my finger could be a by-product of the strep throat. I never even had a sore throat! I took the antibiots for the 3 days and then I did my internet research and found this site and I couldn't believe my eyes that so many people were having the same type of symptoms and problems from taking Lipitor.

Well here I am 3 or so weeks later and I have stopped taking Lipitor! I have a ton more energy and am not tired all the time. I can also concentrate better and I also noticed my memory and attentiveness has gotten better since I stopped taking Lipitor on August 7th. I still have my trigger finger though, it hasn't gotten any better. But most of my muscle aches have gone away. I am going in soon to my doctor again and show her all this information from the web site.

I will probably try some of the natural remedies that I have read about on the website to lower my cholesterol and also mention these to my doctor.
