My son was given this medication for MRSA staph infection, in addition to Rifampin 300mg, and other medication he has had before. This is his 4th outbreak so they were trying to get aggressive with this treatment.
Yesterday, Day 4 (although he hadn't been taking his medication faithfully as he should have been) he developed a rash on the side of his tummy. Then today, it started spreading sporadically on his back, his knees are red & swollen, and his hands feel swollen to him as well. Since both these medications are new to us, and it's a Sunday, I'm having him stop both the SULFAM / TRIMETH, and the Rifmpkin until I can speak with a doctor tomorrow.
Looks like other people have had similar, and worse side effects such as his.

Many people have asked why I suggested that Omega-3 from fish oil MIGHT possibly help those retrying to recuperate from the adverse side effects of Singulair. It is my opinion, that it MIGHT help the body return to balance. And unless we OD on Omega-3 from dietary sources, (avoid tuna fish high in mercury), then it won't hurt.
Mechanisms and innovations
The science behind dietary omega-3 fatty acids

"When cells are activated by external stimuli, arachidonic acid is released from cell membranes and is transformed into powerful cellular mediators such as thromboxanes, prostaglandins and leukotrienes.10 These compounds possess a range of activities, including activation of leukocytes and platelets, regulation of gastric secretions, induction of bronchoconstriction and signaling of pain in nerve cells. The importance of these compounds in health and disease is evident by the range of pharmaceutical products that target their biosynthesis or action.11 Indeed, arachidonic acid metabolism is the target of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors (e.g., rofecoxib, celecoxib12) and leukotriene antagonists (e.g., montelukast, zafirlukast).13 Dietary omega-3 fatty acids directly affect arachidonic acid metabolism because they displace arachidonic acid from membranes and compete with arachidonic acid for the enzymes that catalyze the biosynthesis of thromboxanes, prostaglandins and leukotrienes.8 Thus, the net effect of consuming foods enriched in omega-3 fatty acids is a diminished potential for cells like monocytes, neutrophils and eosinophils to synthesize these powerful arachidonic acid–derived mediators of inflammation and a diminished potential for platelets to produce the prothrombotic agent thromboxane A2." I was just placed on Cellecept last week- 500 Mg 4 times a day-
for my autoimmune muscular myopathy- I was a body builder 6 months ago- now I can barely make it across the Target parking lot.
I am sure the myopathy is Statin induced as I was on Lipitor-)rather than Prednisone as my doctor said less side effects.
He said I should see improvement in about 6 weeks- is any body taking Cellcept for autoimmune disease?
Thank you.
PS; So far- side effects seem to be weakness- more shakiness-

UPDATE: Our nightmare with SINGULAIR has not ended! After reading "conerned citizens" report discussing the possiblility of Singulair causing asthma blew me away. My son was put on this drug for food allergies not asthma b/c they thought of his two anaphylaxsis episodes in 5 days. 1 food related the other unknown (maybe outdoor mold?) He had no prior issues with breathing.
He has been off of it for almost 2 weeks however over the last week he has slowly developed some breathing issues. After getting off of it, he still has his ear infection from the second day of being on it and last Friday after playing some basketball began to seem like he was winded so I brought him in. He was having trouble breathing. I called the Dr. and he said it could be excercised induced asthma. He is a very active boy who runs non stop and has NEVER had breathing issues before Singulair! It seemed to pass after a few hours. The next fews days he coughed a few times when playing and I thought what the heck is happening to him. Monday at school they didn't go outside so he was fine b/c he didn't run around. Tuesday, they came to get me b/c he was having trouble breathing and one of his teachers whose son has asthma said I think you better give him an inhaler. I called the Dr. ASAP and he approved us to borrow another child's. He freaked out and wouldn't let us give it to him. After 2 epi-shots in the previous weeks, he wanted nothing to do with that. At school the next day, we made him take the inhaler if he wanted to go out to playso he did. He didn't cough but a few times. No excercise at all. Then last night, he got really bad. He started to cough and couldn't stop to the point of gaging and it seemed as though he had developed a ton of phlem and kept trying to swallow. We ended up in the ER where we were told that he has asthma! I am so furious! I don't get this at all! If this report is accurate and my son got asthma by going on it - this will be devastating. We kept him home today from school and took him into the Dr. b/c he continued to cough all night. He is now on Flovent, Albuterol and has an enebulizer. I'm probably the only one of all of us who child did not have asthma to begin with.
Has anyone who did not have asthma before singulair now have any issues? Please let me know!

Hello Ladies, I am also a victim to Mirena. I am a married 30-year old women with three children and have been with my husband for 15 years. I have never felt the way that I feel today with the Mirena. Like most of you I didn't want to tie my tubes, but is very sure that I do not want anymore children. I figured I would try the Mirena for five years and then see what I want to do at that point in time. My list of symptoms are headaches, severe fatigue, bloating, cravings, acne, mood swings, dizziness, memory loss, painful intercourse, depression, nausea, vomiting, weight gain or loss (weird), thinning hair, severe backaches and cramping, pregnancy symptoms like not being able to brush my teeth without gagging and the feeling of a baby kicking inside my belly, lack of sex drive and last very little appetite for food. I thought I was going insane until I found this website. Thank you all for posting your symptoms you may have saved my marriage and my children from hating me. My mood swings are ridiculous, I mean down right MEAN for no reason. My husband and I have decided to have the Mirena removed and he will get a vasectomy. He said I have been through enough and God knows I didn't want to try anything else. So thank you all. Also for the young lady who works in the health field and has only had the Mirena for "I'm 21, relatively healthy, and never had children. I work in healthcare and see people react like this all the time-no tolerance to pain, and just wanting an excuse as to where some of their "pains" come from" discuss your issues if any after a couple of months. I hope you don't have any problems. But I know for a fact that before the Mirena I too was a healthy women who had never taken medication not even to have my three children. So I think I can handle pain very well. These symptoms are real at least for me. But good luck with you. To all the other ladies, follow your gut instinct. You are the only one who knows what your body is going through and can correct it. I will follow up once I have had the Mirena removed. Thank you all.

My doctor keeps increasing my dose of lisinopril. It started at 10 mg, then 20mg and now 30 mg.The doctor wanted me to take 40mg , I refused and am thinking about slowly decreasing my dosage with my pill cutter. My blood pressure is high. But when I take it at home, it is lower by 10 to 20 points.

My son was diagnosed w/ ADD/ADHD when he was 7. My husband and I were not advocates of giving drugs to a child and avoided it for some time. But as I watched him struggle and become depressed because he couldn't focus, etc .etc, I remembered what it was like when I was his age. (I am also ADD). You can say what you want about drugs but when my little boy was looking up at me crying and pleading for help "please help me, please...please come to school with me and tell me what to do, remind me because I forget what the teacher says right after she says it".... To see him struggle like that at such a young age we had to do something. He was a very confident and happy kid prior to starting school and after being in school for a few years being the kid that was always getting corrected by the teacher or being called out more than others for not paying attention was taking it's toll on his personality.
He did not start out on Adderall, but another Ritalin type drug. But it made a drastic change in his life - he was happier, able to focus and his self esteem came back. Later he was changed over to Adderall. He said it didn't make him feel nervous like the Ritalin type drugs. I am also on Adderall and it has made such a positive difference in my life as well. I didn't realize how much I had to struggle to stay focused, how much I procrastinated and how overwhelmed I used to feel on a regular basis until I stopped having those issues...what a relief!!! I don't have the stress eating issue anymore because I don't feel as stressed. The only side effect I noticed was my eyes getting red and a some dry mouth.
Adderall has a calming effect on me, I don't feel nervous, I don't feel detached, or any of that stuff several other folks wrote about. My son doesn't either, he is calm and happy and is doing great in school. Neither of us have any issues when we don't take the medication - as far as craving it, etc. In fact, from the initial research I've done and my own personal experience, many who are truly ADD and not misdiagnosed are less apt to become addicted than those who are not truly ADD. When we don't take it we might be a little less apt to remember that important thing we were supposed to do because we got distracted! But we don't seem to have any other withdrawal symptoms or tiredness, etc. So far it has been positive choice.
So for all you people having social issues, hearing voices, having chest pains, feeling strong urges to take the medicine even when you don't want to - YOU PROBABLY SHOULD NOT TAKE IT! All medications effect everyone differently and not all people can take or tolerate the same medicine. And for all you folks that are able to spend 10mins w/ your kids and get good results...well good for you, but DON'T JUDGE those of us for which that technique didn't work. During the summers we usually don't make him take any medication and we spend a lot of time talking through the issues that arise, practicing focus without medication, etc. We spend a lot of time reassuring him that it's OK to make mistakes when you're trying to change your behavior and that we love him just like he is. We hope that eventually as he matures that he will find it easier to do this on his own with out medication to help. However, if he doesn't, then I would rather see him be happy on medication than to struggle and be depressed without it.
Peace.

After 1 day of taking this medication, my body instantly didn't agree with it. I experienced dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, no appetite and the worst diarrhea that i ever experienced. I also kept vomiting and recieved a yeast infection in the process. Finally after 3 days I stopped it under my own discretion. My doctor couldn't believe it was doing of this in 3 days. Every medication isn't for everyone

Taking Topamax for 2 years started out at 25 mgs 3 times a day for a mood stabalizer (bi-polar). Had tingling in hands and feet sometimes in face. Lost waight, pop tasts nasty, sleepy, short term memory loss, slurred speach. Now I take 100mg at bed time have no symptoms except I still am able to controll my eating (had a problem with over eating) no more road rage but I still felf a little depressed and did cry so I was not to stable until Citalopram 10mg at bedtime and Adderall XL 10mg in the morning was added. Now I finally feel like a totaly normal person. No more anxiety, mood swings, crying, paranoia,or any other weird stuff. I feel pretty good. Rarely I get pins and needles in my hands or feet or I forget where I put something.

How long does the fatigue and weakness last after switching off Lisinopril. My dad was on it less then a month and he started suffereing from extreme fatigue and lightheadedness. He's been off it now for a week or two and still seems to be suffering from these side effects. They've switched him to a different low blood pressure med now.

To guest 41494:
Yes, I realize that I might sound like a Country-Life salesperson!
But I also like NOW Foods, Solgar, and Solaray.
And please note that I favor very specific supplements, not necessarily everything these makers have.
If I'm looking for a new supplement, yes, I look first to these brands; however, I have found some items from each of them that I also don't like.
So, in direct answer to your question, I'm just a patient with no investment in any of these brands.
I have spent several years comparing various nutrional supplements.
In my lisinopril weakend condition, I can really tell a difference that others who are stronger/healthier may not notice. So I just call it like I see it.
For example, before finding the Country-Life Target Mins zinc, I tried many other zinc formulations, that were either ineffective or irritated my now very sensitive stomach (due to lisinopril).
I specifically remember two of them: I tried a Whole Foods zinc that made me feel sick (kinda flu-like and mild headache) and I could not take it long term.
I also tried a Country-Life Maxi Zinc 100mg that I found very hard on my stomach and also not as effective as their other one.
And, yes I take supplements with breakfast, lunch and dinner, and some in between meals too. Before lisinopril, I used to just take ordinary vitamins with dinner. It is not fun to be in this situation. Thanks lisinopril!

Hi-
I also took lisinopril for 3 months, and the cough endured for a long long time. Its now three years later, and I still have side-effects, such as lung pains and shortness of breath and a bit of ahem sticky throat. I often cough in the mornings. The good news is that the symptoms are less and less each year, and also, I have found several things that have helped me.
Please note that I am a patient, not a doctor, and, that I speak from my situation only. My situation was that the cough was accompanied by increasing bouts of shortness of breath and energy/stamina issues, all caused by lisinopril, and likely due to nutritional depletion (minerals especially) as a result of an overworked immune system.
First, zinc: I like Country-Life Target Mins Zinc, 50mg tablet. This is not the highest dose, but still a lot of zinc for long term use. For me, I'd split the tablet into quarters, and take these quarter pieces as needed. When I found the zinc, my lungs were in so much pain from the lisinopril (even though I had quit), and, I had no other help, so I was taking quarter tablets 6 times a day (i.e. 75mg/day). This really helped with the pain, but was too high a dose for sustainable use. For long term use, I've cut down to 2 or 3 quarters per day (i.e. 25-37mg/day), the lower the better, but as needed for benefit. At 2 quarters (25mg/day) I pretty much don't need to worry too much about taking too much zinc. I take this zinc on an empty stomach between meals to avoid absorbtion conflicts (zinc tends to inhibit copper, calcium, etc... absorbtion, so best when taken alone).
Second, selenium: I like Country-Life Vegetarian Selenium in a yeast bound forumulation, 200mcg. This is also a pretty high dose for extended use, but again short term use can go even higher, and I used it effectively at 2 tablets per day for a while. Just like the zinc, after that, I have found that a steadily decreasing dose of, say, 3/4 of a tablet per day and of late 1/2 tablet per day or 1/4 tablet per day to be helpful. I take this with food.
Both of these may seem to make the cough worse at first, but I think that is due to stimulating the immune system (the immune system runs on zinc & selenium especially for chemical attacks), and what happens is that the cough becomes more effective at clearing stuff out of the lungs.
You might also consider L-Cysteine, as it is one of the main proteins found in the lungs. I like NOW Foods L-Cysteine w/ vitamin b6 and c, 500mg tablet; I find that it is an effective formulation, and I can take it up to 3 times per day short term and once per day long term. I take this, like most amino acids on a pretty empty stomach, in my case just before bed time.
You might also consider MSM, as sulphur is also found in the lungs in high concentrations. I like NOW foods MSM 1000mg capsules. Short term, I found I could take 3 per day, and long term 1 per day. Take with food for least stomach irritation.
You might further consider Horsetail for silcia also an important mineral for the lungs. I take a 40mg Solary version, but only a few times per week.
I also like very much Country-Life Iodine/Kelp Trace Mineral supplement. I found that taking 2-4 per day for short term use and 1-2 per day long term use has been helpful. Works best with selenium, if taking larger doses of selenium, I take larger doses of this one. The trace minerals should not be ignored!
Also, I started taking vitamin-b: I like Country-Life Basic B (a b-25 formulation). I took at 3 per day (spread out) for a while, and later cut down to one per day. For quicker action try Country-Life CoEnzyme B (also b-25) but quicker acting. I wouldn't recommend this quicker acting one for long term use since it may increase joint/wrist pain.
And also I take vit-e (400iu) twice per day, and vit-c (500mg w/ bioflavinoids) twice per day, as both of these are associated with healing.
Whenever beefing up one mineral for long term use, you should also beef up the others. These other minerals have also helped me out: iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, potassium, boron, molybdenum, chromium. (Chromium was always helpful short term, but I always got headaches long term until I started taking a bit more iron.)
In addition, I have found that Beta Glucan is has short term effectiveness in stimulating the immune system. I found that my immune system would get lazy and used to the mild cough after a while, and that if I took this beta glucan, it would get very aggressive about rooting out the problems. I wouldn't take this without also taking zinc and selenium, no sense in boosting the immune system if it doesn't have the nutrition it needs. So far, I have only taken beta glucan for less than a week each time (about 3 or 4 times now). It has helped me after 3 days or so, but then seems to stop helping, and I don't want to overstimulate my immune system, so I stop taking it for a while. I like Solgar Beta Glucan 200mg. I take up to 2 tablets (each at different times) per day for several days, until it seems to be no longer effective, then give a long rest.
Best of luck to all!

I've experienced extensive hair loss but this may be due to the high dosage I am on (15mg). The quality of my skin, hair, nails etc has also changed considerably since I started taking warfarin back in February. Does anyone else find it difficult to reach their target INR and stick to it? I can manage it for a period of about two weeks and then it suddenly dramatically falls

Regarding athletic ability:
If this medicine works for you that's great! If you get the side effects though, you'll be on the bench for a very long time. There are reports of joggers and people who suffer athletic debilitation from this drug. I was an otherwise healthy jogger for 15 years except for hbp, now have much trouble due to stamina/energy and breathing related problems. On the good side, the arm and leg muscles seem to be fine.
Regarding fatigue and malaise:
I took the lisinopril for 3 months and suffered for over a year from what can be described as abnormal fatigue and malaise, plus the cough. I recovered to a point, but every time I'd try to start jogging again, I'd have some kind of relapse. Lots of pain in the lungs, shortness of breath, pain in the liver, headaches, flu-like symptoms, feeling off or not altogether here. It wasn't until I found zinc that I recoverery restarted. Zinc, zinc, zinc, a bit of manganse, and vitamin-B. Tried several zincs, and found I like Country Life "Target Mins" Zinc 50mg; I take about 1 a day, though split it to spread it out. I take a 1/4 tablet whenever I feel shortness of breath or pain in my lungs, quite helpful. Note the UL (upper limit recommendations) for zinc is about 40mg/day though I think this applies more to people who are not suffering from mineral depletion. (Note that zinc depletion is a know problem with the general ACE class of drugs.)
Regarding staying on this drug:
Be very wary, as sometimes the symptoms and side effects can take a long time to show up. Many people who had no problems for a long while (years even) seem to report problems after a change in brand, especially to generic, or a change in dosage, either up or down! If you get the symptoms reported here, they will persist for a very long time even if you quit. Further, your doctors will try to convince you that 1) there is really nothing wrong with you, 2) it couldn't possibly be the lisinopril, and 3) if you continue to complain it must be psychological (and so you need more drugs, not less!)
Also please note that on this website there are over 40 pages of complaints about this drug. There ought to be a FAQ (frequently asked questions) or summary. It can be a bear to read through all of them, but until the website improves folks wanting more info should page through them...

I had major stomach problems that started with gas, bloating etc... I went to the emergency room for abdominal pain (because that's what my doctors office told me to do when I asked for an appointment regarding abdominal pain), and they found nothing and suggested IBS (Iritible Bowel Syndrom). The side effects continued developing and turned into a burning sensation deep in the abdomin. I had to stop eating all spicy foods and also stop taking my usual 500mg/day vit-c supplement. The burning sensation was physical but really hurt and made me anxious and agitated. Problems kept getting worse, doctor said all was psychological problems, prescribed paxil, later zoloft; I tried the paxil for two days, didn't like it (they said it would take two weeks to help, but I felt it the first time); never took the zoloft. Took many tests; all came up negative. All the doctors I went to were absolutely no help (made things worse in fact). It turned out to all be the lisinopril. I figured it out as the side effects kept mounting.
By the way, for those with the cough (get off this horrible medication and) take extra zinc around 4 times the RDA/DV seems to help a lot with helping the lungs clear that sticky stuff out. (I like country-life target-mins 50mg zinc - effective and easy on my stomach; tried several others before finding this one; I take a quarter of one 50mg tablet 4 times a day, and a good multivitiamin at dinner.) Also, calcium seems to help with the some of the other side effects (there are many side effects, pains, discomforts, etc... from this so-called medication).
This is one crappy medication, and, the worst of it is that doctors are just clueless about its numerous side effects.

ok, i am warning you in advance that this is kinda long, but i wanted to explain a little rather than just list how i was affected. the effects happened gradually at first and then all of a sudden got worse.
i was on yasmin for just over 2 years. i started taking it shortly before i got married and at first i noticed that i hated everyone and everything around me but figured that it was due to starting a BCP for the first time. after a month, i was ok.
about last year april, my father in law who is a gynecologist said that continually taking the active pills would be ok and then every 3 packs or so to stop and have a period. ok fine, that is what i did. i thought things were fine until july when i noticed that i was starting to have all this hate towards my husband yet i still loved him. i thought it was just stress from us both trying to finish school, me working full time and him not working. around august, i got a bit happier. not sure why. during the rest of the year, from september throuogh december, i went back and forth in my head trying to figure out why i was so mad and depressed all the time...was it me? or my husband? or just life in general?my family and feriends could see that i was no longer happy and just wasn't the angel they knew. i seriously considered leaving my husband because i thought it was all stress because of him. fortunately, i decided to wait until january to see how i felt then. i didnt want to just hurry up and get divorced only to regret it later.
january came and i got worse. i started crying because i didnt know what to do. i almost lost my job because they didnt like me "coming to work with all my 'home' problems". they didnt think i kept work and home separate. around february is when i noticed the nausea thing. my husband and i went to target one night and ate some pizza before doing our shopping. while we were wandering around, i felt extremely sick. i either had to sit down right now in the middle of the aisle or go to the bathroom. this happened a few times so i blamed it on the greasy pizza - maybe my stomach couldn't handle it anymore.
i found this site last week monday. i took my pill that morning but havent taken one since. after reading all the problems other people had been experiencing, i knew i had to stop. i started talking to a friend about it; she said to stop. so did my husband. i called my sister who was also on yasmin. she stopped. things from the past year all started to make sense. things i never even considered would be caused by taking yasmin every day. having me and my sister both on it probably made a lot of people in our lives wonder why we were so crazy. as i read through this site, i realized just how many things in my life were being affected. the symptoms/side effects i noticed are:
depression
extremely bad headaches (in the back of my head)
hair loss
dry skin
no sex drive (at all)
anxiety
severe mood swings (i've always been moody but never borderline psychotic!)
start crying for no reason (i used to never cry and my friends thought i was incapable of showing emotions!)
insecurity (especially about weight)
weight gain (25 lbs in 2 yrs -no change in eating habits)
inability to concentrate/cloudy thinking
diarrhea
abdominal pains (especially after eating)
sudden food intolerances i didnt have before
very bitchy
night sweats
dry itchy nose
unexplained memory loss
swelling of hands and feet (aka edema if you come across that word!)
dizziness
blurred vision
constant achy feeling
extrelmey sensitive
dehydration
no motivation
insomnia (i've NEVER had a problem sleeping!)
constant worrying
vaginal dryness/pain during sex
heartburn
Reading abck on all of this, i must seem like one of those people that thinks they have every sickness in the world, but I AM NOT LYING. Yasmin affected me in a very bad way. It took a year for me to start noticing any symptoms, so to all of you who after 1 week or 1 month say that everything is fine, it was the same with me (for the most part). if you give it time, it will affect you too. as for me, i am never going on another BCP. i just dont like the idea of putting extra hormones in my body. if you think back to being a teenager when your hormones start going all crazy on their own it only makes sense that adding more later on wouldn't be a good thing.
as i am off yasmin for more time, i will post which symptoms are improving and which arent. And I will try to keep them shorter!
thank you for reading and best of luck :)

geeDub here....giving you all an update since quitting Lipitor a month ago.
To refresh....I'm a 52 yr old male. I had four stents put in following a massive heart attack 5 months ago.....no warning...two in the Lower Anterior Descending and two in the Right Coronary Artery. Both shut down 100%. I flat lined twice on the operating table during the angioplasy/stent procedure. I was on a heart pump for a day and 1/2.
LDLs were 185...HDLs were a LOUSY 25. I've gotten my LDLs down to 113 and HDLs up to 31 (target HDLs is 50 at least). They're not sure if it was a "plaque eruption" that sent clots to the sites ....or if there was a low grade infection in my blood stream that clotted me up. Either way, they fixed me up very well. I literally owe my life to extremely fast acting Fire Dept/EMT guys and Virginia Mason Cardiologist...Dr. Wayne S. Hwang.
Although I appreciate the value of what the Lipitor is meant to do...I found after I'd been off of the statin for a month on my last blood work just the other day my numbers were still looking good due to WAY better eating habits and walking three miles per day now.
Lipitor had my muscles and joints hurting like crazy for over three months. I also was very dizzy at times. My memory was going cookoo....and I was twitching in various places constantly. Not to mention....I began to have extremely weak wrists, thumb gripping, arm strength and leg strength, and an overall feeling of ill health due to lack of sleep caused by amnesia that was developed while on the Lipitor.
I'm about 90% back at this stage. I'm still in hope that I quit just in the nick of time.....for me. I know that some have had success with the statins. I, personally feel they are of the DEVIL! LOL.
Good luck to anyone else considering quitting this stuff.

I had taken Yasmin for almost two years, and stopped about 6 weeks ago. Reading the postings on this site really opened my eyes. When you ask your doctor if these odd side effects could be from Yasmin, they act stunned that you could even think such a thing...it's supposed to be the new "miracle drug" they say.
Looking back, I can now accurately target just what Yasmin brought to my life since these side effects have disappeared ever since I stopped this awful pill. After about 6 months on Yasmin I began having SEVERE anxiety attacks -- so bad that I was put on medication and wondered what was wrong with me. I was depressed...a level of depression that can almost not be put into words...along with mood swings that made my friends think that I was defiitely losing it. I had foot cramps regularly, acne, shortness of breath and utter exhaustion 24/7. These are the bad things.
On the only good note, my periods were light, pain-free and wonderful. That was why I stayed on for as long as I did.
I was switched to Mircette 6 weeks ago and all of the Yasmin side effects are now gone. Unfortunately with Mircette, I began hemmoraging a week ago (2 weeks before my period was due) and am still bleeding. I now do not know what to take, or if I should go without. If anyone has advice, I would much appreciate it.
I hope that reading about my Yasmin experiences has helped you, please don't think that any of these side effects are just you...no matter what the doctor says.

I was prescribed 500mg once daily for 7 days for a UTI. At first I thought it was really good because I always react terribly with the weirdest of any possible side effect. In spite of digestive problems, I experienced none with Levaquin and that was simply amazing.
On the third day, I had a hint of bad taste. Nothing to concern me. On the fourth day, I took a niece to the movie and she leaned on mein a way that caused me to lean to my right , straining the left upper leg. The fifth day, the back of that left thigh was so stiff it was difficult to get out of bed, but I attributed it to the way I sat (though it seemed a bit much for that). The pain did not subside all day. I woke this morning and was so incredibly stiff that it was horribly painful to get out of bed. The pain had spread to an area about three times as large as what was hurting yesterday. It became so stiff while at work that I was barely able to walk. Getting out of my chair was excrutiating. It finally dawned on me to check side effects, and this is how I discovered that my notion that the Levaquin was the culprit was on target. By the time I left work, the pain has spread further and tonight it is even more intense, but my doctor has said not to take the remaining dose. I don't know yet whether the Levaquin did or didn't work for it's purpose because it also allowed for a secondary infection that is giving me some of the same problems. Now I am treating taking Macrobid again (which my digestive tract will not like) as well as treating the secondary infection. At this point, I don't know whether the pain in the left upper leg (all of it now, not just the back of the thigh) will get better on it's own or not. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Unable to focus eyes on any target while moving. Later extreme muscle soreness and weakness. Unable to do some simple chores. Lower back and upper legs ached mostly first thing in the morning, got a little better later in the day. Have stopped taking Simvastatin. Will wait and see. Have taking statins since an angioplasty 11-12 years ago. T.
