So it's been a week and a half now on the Femcon FE and I started spotting on Monday, which turned into clotting on Tuesday, and today (Wednesday) is a full blown period. I called the doctor and he said to just let my body get adjusted to it. Well, we will see! My fiance says I am very moody, and I cry at just about everything remotely emotional on television. I will keep you updated as I continue!

This is not a side effect but some good news. I saw yesterday on television that the FDA is being forced to put a Black Box warning on the antibiotic Levaquin. This is going to force doctors to recognize the dangers of this drug and that the side effects are more widespread than they are being told by the FDA.....D.

My Daughter was twelve when she got her first and second Gardasil shot. The first shot went well other than the normal irritation after the injection. The second shot hurt a bit worse and for longer after, but we thought nothing of it. Slowly, she started to get very down and very tired, it was around the holiday season so we thought maybe she was just stressed out. Then, she started bleeding vaginally. There were no "warning signs" that she was starting her period, so we treated it as a Urinary Tract infection, and that's what the doctor's told us it was, until a month later, she got it again and we found that it was her period. She also started having MAJOR stomach issues, having two colon scopes, and many other tests (as well as tests for Urinary Issues as well). All have so far come back negative, but all this started occurring exactly ONE MONTH after her second shot. Needless to say, please read her about her other symptoms, and the other posts on this site and others. Gardasil, does not seem to be as safe as they say.

I have been taking Lamictal for 8 years for the clinical diagnosis 'double depression.' I now have no depression so for me this medication as been a miracle.
I take 100 mg at bedtime. I have very vivid dreams every night which I do remember upon waking. Whatever I am thinking about or watching on TV seems to be the theme of my dreams so I have stopped watching frightening movies or television.
I also experience balance problems, I have difficulty reading out loud, and thinking of words when I am having a conversation. My cognitive problems are not with thinking but rather verbal expression. I have a lot of problems with three dimensional thinking, as in reading blueprints.
I suppose as my doctor suggested you have to decide if the quality of life is improved weighed against the side effects. As my doctor said "you'll have to decide whether you want to be depressed or clumsy." This is a no brainer for me after many years of depression.

I started looking for side effects on the nuvaring after I seen a lawsuit commercial on television today. I am on my third ring and this last time I didn’t even want to put another one in. Lately sex has been painful for me and the other day after my boyfriend and I had sex it fell out! From the beginning I knew I wasn’t going to like it but, I liked the thought of not having to take a pill everyday because I could never remember to take it. After reading all of these I realized that is why I have been having these horrible never-ending headaches. Here are some of the symptoms that I have been having:
Crazy dreams and I never dream
Terrible headaches that won’t go away
Painful sex where the ring is
Abdominal pain (worse than was already)
It falling out after sex
Chest pains
Mood changes (not a lot)
Acne
Boobs hurting (not a lot)
Hair falling out more than usual
Feeling just weird
Extremely tired (may not be nuvaring)
Last period was heavy and my periods are never heavy
Back pain (may not be nuvaring)
Legs hurting (may not be nuvaring)
Swelling of the groin area (I had it before I started using it)
What do you think I should do? If I stop taking it may be awhile before I can go back to the doctor, but I don't want the symptoms to get worse. A lot of the women have said that they eventually lost their sex drive…I don’t want to do that! Will it get better? I have already had problems with my stomach...could it just be that? I need some advice! I don’t want it to get worse.

I had extreme anxiety so the dr. gave me .5 Ativan. i have been taking it for a month now 2 times a day. it worked great up until last Friday. Since then my heart has been pounding and i have extreme anxiety again, not as bad because i still am taking the meds but the rapid heart beat has taken over my life right now. I can't sleep, eat, concentrate on television. i barely go to work. I don't know what to do. Another doctor i went and saw told me that Ativan is only used temporary and that if you keep using it as a long term thing you are going to have to keep uping the doses and depend on it more and more until you go to the highest dose and it dosent help at all. Now I am scared about depending on them and not being able to get off them. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP. i need some help through this.
i am going to a therapist and all she can say is practice deep breathing so it doesn't really work 100% for me.

My doctor took me off metopolol (genericToprol), and my last dosage was a week ago. I suffered weight gain, tiredness, and muscle fatigue during my 18 months on the drug.
I have 2 questions - how long will the drug remain in my system, and has anyone who experienced weight gain while on Toprol or the generic, lost any weight after stopping it?
Thanks, Tony

My son is 6 years old and he has been on and off Singulair for about 2 years. He was off since last Fall 2007, but was put back on in April 2008 for allergies. He began telling me that he was having "dreams" during the day. He would then tell me these totally bizarre thoughts, "dreams" that he was having. They were very strange and perverted and violent. I asked him why he was saying this stuff and he said, "I just can't help it, they pop into my mind." I thought that he was going through a phase because he was bored. He is in 1/2 day kindergarten and I attributed this to too much television and boredom. I was thinking that someone was feeding him this crazy information (kids on bus, class, etc.) and he was repeating it to me. He was too showing OCD symptoms, afraid if he touched his feet- "is that dirty??" afraid if he touched someone's hand, "is that dirty if I touched Tim's hand?" He would also cry and whine often over the simplest things. I thought this was a phase. Our prescription for Singulair ran out and I did not fill. I started noticing a change over a week's time period. My little boy who was coming to me several times a day with bizarre "dreams" had not mentioned them at all. His compulsive behavior has stopped and so has the whining. I feel lucky that I did not fill the prescription because I would not have even thought it was the singular, since there are no side effects like the one's I mentioned above on the label. I am sick about this!!

i heard something on the television about a lawsuit involving advair and came across this site looking for information. i have been on advair for aprox 8 years. when i read some of these comments i began to cry. it so said exately what i have been feeling right down to being diagnosed with rhumetoid arthritis and fibro. i spent 6 hours in the er last week with a heart rate of 112. i went to my doctor as recommended after my visit and he blew me off because he was mad i went to the er and told me to go see a surgeon to cut into my collar bone, go down to my lungs and biopsy them. i see a different doctor next Thursday for a second opinion. i am so tired of being sick and to think, it could all be from this one thing. i am going to talk to the doctor about this on Thursday.

I have been on Levoxyl for about 3 years now, maybe more. My mother , father, and I all have Hypothyroidism. Mine was diagnosed at 19 when I started on Levoxyl and now it is around 3 at 75 mcg. I do have alot of these symptoms, including fatigue, depression, insomnia, major migraines, bloating, but my mom and I also have ringing of the ears and I wonder if this is a symptom. I have been to an ear specialist and had my hearing checked, everything is normal he says. Maybe I just have very sensitive hearing and can hear the slightest things? I don't think so, I didn't have this ringing before a year and a half ago!

I have recently experience high bp that my doctor said was due to anxiety. He prescribed .5mg Ativan. It helped in the beginning but I have now noticed that in only 2 weeks I am having extreme anxiety when it wears off. Last night I woke out of a dead sleep in what the ER doctor said was a panic attack. He then gave me a double dose of Ativan in the ER. This sent my heart rate skyrocketing and caused a major panic attack in the hospital. I have never had these before I started Ativan. Has this happened to anyone? Now they put me on Valium to counteract the anxiety from Ativan. The ER doctor now thinks the high bp was from the new birth control pill I started. I think I am going to quit taking any meds.

i have had my mirena out for 2 weeks now. i was bleeding heavily for 2 weeks and then it stopped out of the blue. my acne is better and i am slowly loosing wieght with little effort. my sex drive is coming back and i am enjoying a sex life with my hubby unlike before where i dreaded going to bed to only turn him down again. my night sweats are gone along with my cyst issues. my heartburn has lessened and my insomnia has disappeared. i am slowly going back to my normal self.
as for my new form of b/c; we are using condoms with spermicide, along with a lot of prayers. there is no way another form of hormones is going into my body again.
my yeast culture also came back today and it was shocking to the nurse. now i am on a double dose of pills to get the yeast down. i NEVER had a yeast infection before and can't wait for this to go away and me to be back to normal.

I started on Lisinopril/hctz 10/12.5 mg ten days ago and within four days I had a severe hearing loss in my left ear. I thought it was plugged with wax, but when examined they found nothing. After being referred to a ENT specialist they found nerve damage to the ear and are unsure if I will regain my hearing or not. They are trying to treat the hearing loss with steroids but are unsure if it is reversible. Both the ENT and the internist did not think there was a connection with the Lisinopril. I think there is. I am a healthy 47 year old who has never had a health issuer before ten days ago.
I would love to hear from anyone else with this problem. We need a definitive link to this drug for hearing loss.

Well, I used to be on Loestrin, but after about 8 months it started making me skip periods. I had one every other month, which was really disconcerting. Dr. said it was that it had too much of each hormone in it. Aviane was the switch. However, I have had the following symptoms: rage (!!!), sadness...I cry every time I watch television and I'm not a crier by nature. and when I first started taking it I was nauseated a lot and even threw up sometimes. Boyfriend almost broke up with me after our last rage fight and I keep thinking it's me but now I wonder if it's this pill.

I just got my first prescription for Neurontin. When the pain management doctor told me he wanted me to try this, I asked him if there wasn't anything on television regarding this drug & suicide? He said he wasn't aware of anything. No sooner do I get home & the commercial for a law firm says if you or anyone you know has commited suicide while taking this medication contact 1-800 so & so..I am terrified of trying it! What do you recommend? I am truly afraid of that particular side-effect, the one where you get so depressed that all seems hopeless & commit suicide. Can anybody advise me?????Thanks, Margarita

My 15yr old son had Doxycycline prescribed for acne and 3 mths after he stopped taking it he was experiencing pins and needles in his hands, which were cold when they shouldn't have been and also his eyes are still sensitive to light even the Television- as he is squinting when he views it at times. And by the way, the acne is just as bad as when he started taking the Doxy and he took it for 100days!

I was taking Lipitor for 1Year. I began to fall and I couldn't get up. I was hospitalized and a neurological workup indicated that I had fibromyolysis caused by Lipitor. I stopped taking Lipitor. I was given a walker and sent for physical therapy. After many sessions of being treated as if I was a stroke victim I was released because I wasn't making any progress. I spent 3-4 months in the walker and 6 months with a cane. I was ver active prior to this, but it took a year to be able to walk without assistance. 3 years later I am about 85% recovered. I lift weights and walk about 3 miles a day. I am thrilled, since I could not even lift my legs initially. I still have weakness in my left leg and balance problems. I want to get the word out. I have been interviewed on local television twice. I woul like to go national . Len ***

I started taking Allegra at 8 p.m. on April 8, 2003, for seasonal sinus problems here in Michigan. After taking the second caplet at the same time the following evening (April 9), I awoke the next morning with a lower back ache. On April 10, after my third Allegra, the back pain was so severe I could not stand from a sitting position without assistance. By my fourth Allegra caplet on April 11, I also had a severe headache along with the increasing back pain. I had taken Allegra for approximately one week before I saw a local television ad for the medication stating that "possible" side effects included headache, cold symptoms and/or backache. I thought then that the possibility of the back pain being related to the Allegra was evident. I discontinued taking Allegra on April 15, 2003, and the backache is nearly gone. The slight headache remains, but responds to aspirin. It should be noted that I had a problem several years ago with Allegra-D causing severe head congestion and sinus pain. I would not recommend anyone taking this medication without knowing that the side effects are more than just "possible" .

Hello folks.I am a 63 year old male and began taking 10 mg.of Lisinopril 2 years ago. Eight months ago it was increased to 40 mg.a day.I experienced incredible fatigue(sleeping 18 to 20 hours a day),depression,I became severely anemic and was hospitalized for 3 days and given 3 units of whole blood.I became hypothyroidic and had rib cage pain.My legs and knee joints hurt so badly that I was almost unable to walk.I couldn't sleep through a night without waking up gasping for breath. My mental processes became extremely foggy and I was unable to concentrate. This is hard to believe but I sometimes was too tired to watch television.Although I am sure that not all people experience these symptoms,be advised that it can happen.I am now off of Lisinopril and have recovered my health. This horrible "medication" needs to be looked at more deeply by the FDA.
