*Update* Mirena out for 2 days
So i posted a few posts down about having an emergency removal due to the pain after only 3 weeks. I cannot believe the difference in the way i feel. The bloatedness has gone down finally. I don't feel sore and tender everywhere. my head is actually clear now. and my favorite part...NO CRAMPS. I spent 3 weeks of my life in utter pain and cramping with mirena. I'm finally back to my old self. This product should not be on the market. It is ruining lives. Please..anyone thinking of getting it...read these posts and really think about it. I read these posts before i did it..BUT i did it anyways thinking i was different than the ppl posting...I WISH I HAD LISTENED to what i was reading. The women on here are telling the truth, including myself now. The side effects are NOT WORTH it.

Has anyone had any problems with their hair? I've always had healthy and thick hair with awesome body. Now, my hair is very dry, brittle, and dull. It has no life. I have split ends horribly and it's broken off really bad. It may seem as if I'm exaggerating a bit, but I am absolutely telling the truth. I've had the mirena for a year now; since January 2008. No major problems. But I have notice also as someone mentions on here previously about the horrible discharge and it's odor. (All of this has been going about 4 months after having mirena inserted). I had a culture done about 3 months ago and doctor says it's a bacterial infection and yeast, but it isn't sexually transmitted. Doctor says my pH balance is way off. I took the medication, my husband used a condom, and still the bacterial infection came back. But what I really want to know is can anyone tell me about the hair loss?

I kind of think CNN and the FDA are intellegent enough to figure out that they should NOT get information off this website. What makes everyone think all these posts are real? First you have to weed out the pranksters who post here for fun, then you have to weed out the competitors to Merck who post here to bust chops, and then you have to weed out the ones who really have a psychiatric condition and get their jollies by posting made up stories.....shall I go on? This is the INTERNET people!!! Anyone with one, two or ten verifyable emails can sign up (I have 11 email addresses myself). I have been intrigued to see the same people posting under multiple user names. Then you go to the other boards and see them there. If you really study these messages you can figure them out. So my point is, NOT ALL THESES STORIES ARE REAL. I think I would be generous in saying 25% of these posts are legit. I would hope that no government agency or news agency is going to risk their reputation on a public forum message board.

Are there people that have not experienced any side effects of Singulair I saw a question, and the answer is that they are the ones that are not going to post here. Millions of people and especially kids are fine with this medication and have no reason to look for this site. Will some people get side effects from Singulair, yes, but unfortunately there is not a drug out there that will cause no side effects.
People saying this could cause all kids to suicide is a bit disturbing. If you want to take a look the most popular allergy medication, Zyrtec has had suicide listed in their information for awhile. The reason these allergy medications have to have them listed is because they are heavily prescribed because of the great amount of allergy sufferers and any time some one passes in a car crash, accidental death, or unfortunately even suicide they have to list all medicines they are on. Obviously with popular medications more people from these cases will exist than the less popular ones. Drug companies are protecting themselves because of the litigious society we live in and have to place all kinds of occurrences there and not to say in this case, but a lot of people are always looking to blame others for something instead of taking responsibility for themselves.
I don't think doctors are prescribing these medicines because they do not want what is best for each of their patients. There is no conspiracy, and I would trust their view and years of studying and practice to someone's inexperienced diagnosis on this forum when I have no idea what their background and job is on here. I do not look to consult my son's teacher to fix a leak in my roof, so I go to my doctor for advice on medicine and not consult someone not in the field.
Sorry about this harshness, but someone showed me this board and as a parent who has their son on Singulair with great results and even trusted my doctor when they suggested to try it in my one year old son I will continue to listen to their advice. I have heard numerous people in the medical community tell me Singulair is one of the cleanest drugs out there, but again there isn't a drug with no side effects. I am sorry that not all parents have achieved the great effects my kids have had with this drug, but I think most have and thus not had the need to find this board.

Finally people are telling the truth about this drug.
-- By nofriends | Reply | Private Message meI am 17 and have had trouble falling asleep since I was two years old. After a few not noticeable prescriptions was prescribed 15mg of Remeron. I have eaten healthy my whole life and never really cared for sweets before this drug. I literally was eating an entire pie every night. I couldn't even think about anything except for how hungry I was. Running out of sweets was honestly what I imagine heroin withdrawals are like. This went on for a few months and I gained about ten pounds. I recently I ruptured my spleen about a two months ago and have been in constant pain since then. Because of the pain I barely sleep at all. 2-3 hours of solid sleep max, so I was prescribed klonopin and went cold turkey on the remeron. I am now pretty much pain free and more social. Is it possible the remeron increased the pain?
