I have been on Wellbutrin XL 150mg for 5 days now and have noticed that I am very short with people and experiencing anger. I tend to lash out. Will this go away?

I was a completely different person on this medication - different temperament, different likes and dislikes, but the worst part was not having any emotions! When I reported still being depressed to my Dr, she just upped the dosage (from 75 to 150mg) and I hardly remember anything from the time I was taking the high dosage. Coming off of this medicine, I would almost have cravings for it, severe dizziness, the "brain zaps" others have mentioned, and rage like I have never felt before or since. So glad I got off of this stuff!

I have been on this med for about 4 weeks now and being used for year round allergies. I've tried most, if not, all the antihisthamines (OTC/RX) and do not work. My doc gave me a month supply of samples (10mg), since I've been taking it --I haven't had an allergy "attack" since. However, yesterday, after obtaining another two month supply on Monday, I started feeling very fatigue. I broke out with a fever and some pretty intense body aches. I took some Tylenol last night and broke the fever, but it came back in the morning when I got ready for work.

I called my doc and asked if these were syptoms of the meds and unfortunately, they are. He advised me to take some Tylenol and mentioned that my body will have to get use to this and will eventually overcome it. As for temperment, I can't really tell whether it's changed me or not, I'm 28, married and have two kids (3 yr old & 10 mo. old infant) and they haven't noticed anything either.

I'm at work right now and planning on leaving early because the fever and body aches are not subsiding. I'm hoping some rest and plenty of fluids will help me today--I don't want to feel like this during tomorrow, Saturday, May 5 is one of the biggest fights in boxing history.

I've been on 20 mg of Fluoxetine for the past 3 and a half weeks to treat clinical depression accompanied by a very moody temperament. I feel completely zoned out and light headed. Waking up has become more difficult. I've gone to my psychiatrist and pediatrician with concern about the above but they told me its just part of my body adjusting to the new meds.

I am so glad I have come across this website, my son recently was put on singulair 4mg for allergies, but we have definately noticed a very negative, aggressive attitude from our child who is 4 yrs. old. I looked on the makers website and it does not say anything about temperment change, aggression or anything of that nature. I will take him off immediately after reading everyone on this website's testimonies. I am also greatful for you mom's etc. out there sharing your experiences. FYI for Annabelle, I have worked in the past around pharmaceuticals, and yes DR's do get kickbacks in the form of vacations, etc. It's just not talked about openly nor openly admitted to. Terri

My son, 3 1/2 years, began taking singulair at approximately 2 1/2 years for asthma prevention. He seemed to handle the
medication well for about 1/2 a year. We then noted his first (of four) earaches and infections that he had ever had in his life. His temperment slowly began to change to being more anxious, he began to become aggressive, which he hadn't shown signs of before the medication, and his attention span has markedly decreased. For a week and a half, now, we have intentionally decreased his medication to twice a week, and note significant changes in his behavior. We will be speaking with his physician, today.

I posted on here a few days ago see (Sun, 21 Aug 2005 10:18:19 -0500 by Guest, #12792). I stopped taking Singulair. Today was my 3rd day off of it. I am fine during the day, but needed my Proventil inhaler one of the nights. I am starting to take Claritin before bedtime. Maybe that will help the nights. I wanted to comment on how different I feel since stopping the Singulair. The biggest change is in my temperament. I read somewhere that it would stay in my system for approx. 5 days, but I already feel different. I am not as angry, irritable or impatient. It is an extreme difference after only 3 days. I am also not as tired. The overall achey body feeling is gone, however, my fingers still hurt on one of my hands. I think that is starting to improve too. I just wanted to let everyone know that this drug really does affect your personality. Also, the strange vibrating sound from my chest/nose is gone. I'll see how it goes.

I think this medication sucks... My son was diagnosed a.d.d. whatever... his lack of focus, his temperment, his finding humor in someone else's sadness. The answer is not pills. It is finding 10 minutes a day of your time just with your child. More encouragement and being consistant . That one (consistant) was the hardest. Pills may help for the time being... but are our children to stay on pills their whole life? what happens when they go off? Don't take the easy route drugging up your child... They will get their aggression out behind your back instead of in your face.

My husband has experienced tantrums and a change in temperment. He flies off the handle at the drop of a hat! This is not normal for him and I have only seen a few people report this possible side effect. I would be interested in hearing of any other reported instances.
