I take Adderall NON xr 20mg with Lexapro 20 mg. I have general anxiety disorder so sometimes I get that chest tightness or the lump in throat feeling and it being hard to breathe but it usually went away when I took an Ativan. The Lexapro just seemed to stop working for me and my depression was bad and so we decided to add Adderall in because it made me more clear minded, hopeful, happy, and balanced. the only problem is, after about 4 or 5 hours I feel a "comedown" from this and it's completely horrible. I start to get very edgy and irritated, I lose my focus and feel kind of light headed and headache, I get tired but cannot sleep, my chest tightness and anxiety comes back pretty bad, and I get goosebumps and my back and neck tense up. I love how it makes me feel during the first 4 or 5 hours but once it starts wearing off the come down is just so awful I'm not sure what to do. i do take 1 Ativan before bed and that helps me sleep. I heard that I may need to take another 10mg of Adderall around 1 or 2 to give me a boost and sustain my balance and focus and all the good things about this medication. Does this actually work? Or do I just need to up my dosage? I understand that Adderall enhances anxiety in general so it makes sense but I wonder why I don't get anxiety when I first take it, but it seems to come on after the medication is starting to wear off.

I know that when i got off of effexor, it was a nightmare!!! I had night sweats, chills, nausea, and my mucles would tense up around my torso and neck. It made me feel like i couldn't breathe. My doctor said it was just withdrawls, but it scared the crap out of me!!! He put me on topamax a few days ago, i'm yet to have any problems. I'm really looking forward to the weightloss!!! Does anyone know if topamax is as bad to get off of as effexor??? please get back with me soon!

I cant sleep at all. I am very irritable. I have no sex drive. My asthma is worse taking it. I get awful leg cramps. I bruise a lot easier. I have migraines every day. I have blurred vision. I just feel tense all the time

My sister is on Toprol, just started, so I was looking up side effects. Cough is one, by the way. Considered rare, however, it's still a listed side effect. FYI: my sister is 57. She is a somewhat tense person, but slim and takes care of herself. She is having a horrible time getting started on this med. I am urging her to get a second or even a third opinion about her options.

hi kim123,
i am sure it is a symptom of your anxiety levels. the excess adrenalin circulating in your system causes muscles to twitch, tense and shake and tingle just like they would if you were in real danger (although you are not your body thinks you are because of the constant high anxiety state) i used to have twitching in my legs, they would jump and shake all the time. i also used to get tingling and numbness in my face. how is it going with the lexapro? is it helping you at all?

I have been on the nuvaring for about 6 or more months. I thought it was working pretty well until 2 months ago...the first night after my cycle, I put the ring in and in the middle of the night woke up with severe nauseau and sweating. thought I had the flu. Then, it happened again this month. Seems that each month, the first week I put a new ring in, I'm irritable, tense, and just want to run away. I'm taking this out today and I'm going to see what happens.

I started Topamax at 25mg at night for 2weeks and just moved up to 50mg at night. My husband kicks me out of bed every night saying I kick my legs. I don't even realize I am doing this. Them when I try to go back to sleep, my legs feel like I have to tense them up to relax in a constant cyle. I am also on Effexor 225mg and Lunest 2mg, which seems to not work anymore since I went up on the topamax dose.

Guest 20168--Guest 20077 here...thanks so much for your response. I am really overwhelmed at all this though... it's crazy how many women are listing their problems with Yasmin. Don't you think there should be something done with it? I do, just don't know how. I'd like to see how many women there are that do not have problems taking the pill. I just found out that quite a few of my friends take the same kind, and one didn't have any side effects...the other didn't have any problems when taking it, but said that after she stopped with the pills, she did feel better--more energized, motivated, more like herself. I am utterly frustrated at everything...and not just because the pills are making me feel that way. You read about the situation I had with the doctor...I have been seeing a counselor/phsycologist about the lack of sleep issue, and she doesn't seem to think it's Depression, as she says that people who are depressed think they are... I'd say I'm depressed, but that's not more than feeling down every day. She says she hopes to find the truth behind my problems... and I said I hope that depression isn't the truth and that it's just something simple, like Yasmin. All this just because I can't sleep. Before taking Yasmin, actually, as far as I could remember, I had a hard time with sleeping. Even as a little kid...but with this birth control, something with many great benefits, I've become exhausted, angry, frustrated, tense, anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, etc. All that. As the Doc has said, "You're depressed. Come back in 3 weeks." Yea, and about those antidepressants...I don't mind taking pills...I'd rather take an antidepressant to feel better than be taking 7 or 8 different sleeping pills in one night just to find sleep. No one seems to understand, or seems willing to understand, besides women who post on websites. Thank Heaven for you ladies and thank heaven for caring families. I wish I could show them Me...who I really am. I wish I could see who I am and feel just like me.

I tend to clench my jaw and grind my molars after an hour or two of taking Geodon. When my Dr. increased the dosage, my body temperature would go up and I would have to take my hat off to cool down. Irritabiltiy goes along with it. After I take Geodon, My jaw, my head, and my neck would become very tense. My vision gets blurry at night even with my glasses on.

So far Yasmin has been the best birth control that I have been on. I have tried Depo Provera. That was hell and I have tried Ortho Tri Cyclen. That was also hell. I had really bad depression with Ortho Tri Cyclen to the point where I had to be on Anti-Depressants. While I was on Depo I was just a complete bitch. I was so angry that I would break things and cry all the time. Now I am on Yasmin and I have been for almost a month. It is funny that I came upon this site because I was looking for the side effect that I experienced last night. I was fooling around with my boyfriend and he was sucking on my nipples and suddenly I just freaked out and immediately got out of the mood. I felt also like in my mind that he was forcing me into sexual things when he was not even saying a word to me. We were just being intimate the way we usually do. Nothing had changed. I also thought of him as a bad guy that was trying to hurt me when all this happened. I started feeling like I was going to have a mental breakdown or something. I was feeling depressed and thinking that I was going to start to feel like guys were hurting me and that I had to constantly protect myself from anyone although nobody could be around me and I was still fearing that I would feel like this. After about 20 minutes, I was feeling better and I could not even understand why I had felt that way. I even ended up being intimate with my boyfriend that night. I just told him that he could not play with my nipples. Another side effect that I experienced on the same day was that my whole body was tense. It did not hurt but it felt like I had been working out non-stop to feel like that. The funny thing is that I did not do any extensive exercise. So besides the ocassional moodswings with the pill I got hit hard with terrible side effects all in one day. I only hope that things will get better for me if I continue to stay on Yasmin for another couple of months.

hi there folks,
i've only been taking yasmin for 3 days and i've felt aggressive, anxious, a bit vague, tense, wired, etc, etc. on the up side i don't have to fight sugar cravings now cos my appetite practically disapeared, and i dumped a guy that i've always been too forgiving of, cos instead of feeling mildly frustrated by his stupid mind games and evasive circumlocution, i got totally p*ssed off and fed up and ended things. (good move, really) so i kinda don't mind the aggro feeling. it's making me more assertive than i usually am.
anyways, i've read about 5 pages of posts here and have noticed that a lot of the posts are about what happened after people came off yasmin. i want to stick it out for a month or so and see if the side effects go away, but i'm worried that if they don't, and i go off it, the side effects will get worse and i'll stack on weight.
so my question is: to the people who suffered anxiety and weight gain after coming off yasmin, did you also have these side effects while you were on it (but just not as bad) and it just got worse after you stopped, or did you not have the side effects and they only started after you stopped?
cheers folks!

I have had asthma for over 30 years and have recently been on Singulair. I have gained 15 lbs with no dietary changes and I am active. Recently I have been experiencing rapid heart rate, tense feeling, anxious, and uncomfortable to the point of a "panic attack" type of episode accompanied by sweating and the feeling of almost passing out. I take hormones for flashes (i'm 47) and have been fine with thme but the new med is the Singulair. I stopped it for 2 days and thday is the first day with no "episode". I do not have more tha 1 cup of reg coffee but I have felt like I have had pots of coffee. This stuff is awful. I will stick with an inhaler when needed and go to the health food store for a natural asthma supplement.

I've been on nuvaring for about 2 months now and my breasts have grown quite a bit. So much so that my t-shirts aren't fitting me. Also, i feel tense and edgy on a regular basis. And my skin is breaking out a bit.
Not feeling very comfortable in my own skin.
Anyone else feeling these side effects?

I started taking geodon a couple years ago when I had a "psychotic episode" so to speak. They diagnosed me with schizophrenia. They put me on geodon which did wonders for me and helped all my symptoms go away. I'm perfectly functioning and capable now. However, Geodon does have some side affects that I"m dealing with. It makes me tired all the time. I'm tired all day and can't sleep at night. It seems to be progressive as in the longer I'm on it the more I have to take. If I miss a pill I get very tense physcially like and my jaw clamps down. I also feel like I'm going crazy if I miss a pill. Thoughts start to race, however the natrue of the drug is that one pill missed shouldn't cause psychotic symptoms. I can't think as clearly because it makes it harder to think abstractly. I take it when I need the down feeling. Sometimes more then it's perscribed. I'm clearly addicted to it like somebody would be addicted beer or pot, perhaps psychological. I tried to switch to abilify and I couldn't function because of the hard with
drawl from geodon. Good luck at your venture with geodon

Yes, I developed a severe sore throat when I started the Welbutrin. I failed to mention the other side effects that I noticed while I was on Welbutrin XL 300mg. Dizziness, nausea, HEADACHES EVERY DAY!, sore throat, neck pain, back pain, very sore muscles, tunnel vision, I became anxious and nervous, and I think the worst one that I could not handle was this wierd "electrical" feeling that would pulsate throughout my body. It would make me tense up and it felt like my teeth were tingling all the way down to my feet. I am back over to Lexapro 20mg a day and will just have to put up with the weight gain.

I have been taking Zoloft for about six months now, and for the past six months I haven't had one menstrual period (this isn't unpleasant, but a little worrisome in its strangeness).
I am sixteen years old and I weigh 130 pounds. I take 200 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) every morning for depression. I am constantly in emotional turmoil internally, but I rarely have the motivation to express any of it, which leaves me a bottled-up mess.
I have gained about five pounds on Zoloft, and I exercise frequently and watch my diet in an attempt to avoid more gain. My emotions, ideals, thought patterns, and self image are all extremely volatile and they change constantly.
If I don't take Zoloft for one day, I feel slightly more energetic and I always have detailed, vivid dreams that night. If I don't take Zoloft for two days, I get a splitting headache, I am aggressive and histrionic, and I feel tense and hopeless. These disturbances are only slightly more unpleasant than how I feel when I take the medication; hence, I usually take it. However, if I gain one more pound while taking this, regardless of withdrawal effects, I will discontinue the Zoloft.

Well, it's 3am and I'm wide awake. I'm taking Levaquin for recurring strep throat. Today is day 3 and I just found this site. I've been feeling tense and anxious and obviously can't sleep. I also have a horrible metal sort of taste in my mouth that will not go away. Calling doc tomorrow to get a medication switch and will do more research in the future before taking an antibiotic. I never thought that an antibiotic could give you these weird side effects.

I have been taking doxycycline for about 4 days now. Last night I took it right before bed, with water, and upon waking at about 1 am I felt that the pill was stuck in my esophagus. And then my stomach starting burning and acid started coming up. I still feel like the pill is lodged in there, and it is very uncomfortable. Along with this issue, I have felt rather depressed, dizzy, yeast infection, and am extremely tired. I don't really know what to do at this point. I was prescribed it for pneumonia and a double ear infection. My chest is still killing me from the pneumonia and still have trouble breathing. My doctors have not been helpful what so ever through this process. I had to actually go to the hospital for the proper diagnosis. I don't even know if it is even working for me, but I don't have health insurance and have been out of work for over a week. Can any one give me ANY advice PLEASE???!!!!!
