Prescribed Avelox after previous antibiotic could not clear up sinusitis. Avelox cleared it up within three days, but I feel worse now. Extreme agitation/anxiety, tremors, twitches, no appetite, boughts of depression, dizzy, lack of coordination, accelerated heart rate, leg shake, cold extremities, very strange, vivid dreams. Doctor told me to stop taking and side effects should clear up in a few days ( I hope). This is nuts. I feel like I am going insane. I could not go to work for three days due to side effects.

Been on Zocor for two years went from 20mg to 40mg and since being on the 40mg I have increased leg & foot cramps so severe @ night that I have trouble getting out of bed, the foot locks up. Even getting up after sitting is a problem, sometimes my feet and legs go numb and I even fell a few times. I get very tired during mid day. The newest problem is my sight, I have notice that there is a blurriness that I don't know if it ever clear up, after telling my doctor this she said it was the arthritis and to take arthritis nonasprin and to stop the zocor for about a week, I am going to stop period.

My mother is 74 and has been on Lipitor 5 mg for about 6 weeks now and has experienced her 1st TGA. She called me today to tell me that someone had come into her house and cooked a platter of bacon and moved a basket around. She couldn't find her purse and went outside and sure enough it was in her car, but the door was standing wide open and the purse was sitting on the seat. She remembers nothing! This evening she swore that our second child was born in a different house. This from a woman who can remember the tiniest minutia. This Lipitor is terrible stuff! She is now officially off of it. R.

I used to take blood pressure drug and had side effects. Unfortunately, all drs. know is to push drugs . . . instead the alternatives. I am taking a natural product now with no side effects.

I'm not sure my symptoms are the result of Lipitor, but I sure am going to find out by stopping taking Lipitor for a week. My symptoms - the numbing of my left foot, the reduction of motor skills in the left foot - it comes quickly and stops almost right away. I have been on Lipitor for several years taking 20 mg but recently was increased to 40 mg. I have no other
symptoms. Just touching base. Thanks for the site.

I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis 6 years ago which causes inflammation of the lungs and scarring of the lungs. I do not have these symptoms when on other thyroid meds. Possible allergic reaction to Synthroid. Please reply a.s.a.p. Thanx

I am so glad that I found this site, and I don’t feel like I’m going crazy anymore! I’m 22 and had been taking Yasmin for 2 years. About two months into taking Yasmin I began having unexplained migraines for days that would not go away. I was prescribed medication for my migraines, and it didn’t help. Then, I became depressed and would cry about everything. I also became moody and would yell at everybody for no reason at all. I was also tired all the time and was constantly having hot flashes. I also had terrible nausea and vomiting with Yasmin. I vomited almost every night for two months! The worst symptom of all though, was panic attacks that almost put me in the hospital one time. I finally looked up the side effects of Yasmin and thankfully found this site. I have been off Yasmin for two weeks now, and already I feel like myself again! I have more energy, and I am no longer moody or sick to my stomach. I have also not had a migraine and I even feel more clear headed. Yasmin destroyed my relationship with my fiancé and I’ll never get that back. Hopefully, other woman will see this and stop taking Yasmin before it ruins their relationships. I thank all of you woman who shared your stories! I felt so much better after reading them.

Yasmin gave me IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrom for those of you who don't know.) I was on the pill for eight months. My pre-symptoms were I had 5 yeast infections in a row, in the second and third months of taking it...this didn't ring any bells, even though I had never had a yeast infection before in my life, and my doctor just said I had a yeast imbalance. So a month after those stopped the IBS started. I was in the bathroom about 8 times a day, I thought maybe it was a flu, so i didn't go to the doc right away. I eventually gave up on that thought and went to see my doc, who even he, thought that it was IBS, so he sent me to a specialist right away. I had a colonoscopy and nothing, so the specialist told me that I needed to stop searching and just accept that I had IBS (I told him that I had been trying to figure it all out, because you literally don't wake up one day, go to the bathroom and your life changes forever, I KNEW something else was going on.) Anyways, I had a dumb specialist, he said that I had to accept this, I asked if it could possibly be my birth control and he said no and prescribed my a whole bunch of other drugs. Well I still just couldn't believe my life just all of a sudden changed, so I went to my family doc, lied, told him i was getting moody off Yasmin, and he switched me onto another. IT WORKED no more IBS, the results were immediate, it took a while for my poor damaged bowls to fix themselves, a few months actually, but now things are getting back to normal. Oh, and I've stopped birth control pills, back to condoms for me...my doc put me on Alesse, which didn't work either - moody! and then he put me on Marvelon, which inflamed my gallbladder (had to go for an ultrasound to see if i had gallstones) I figured at this rate, in two years i'd be dead from taking b/c so I was done, I would recommend the same to anyone!!

I posted yesterday a response to a message from another woman. I have stopped birth control before and it caused me to begin my menstrual cycle early. I had been thinking about not taking YAZ anymore as I was convinced it was making me feel crazy and not myself. I felt out of control hormonally and that my brain and emotions were not connected. I was very moody and would be come depressed and anxious for no reason. I also felt like another person both physically as well as emotionally... I was exhausted all the time and felt like I lost my self confidence. I felt I was missing out on my life. I stopped taking the pill last night. I will let you know what the side effects I have experienced are. I am calling my DR. this morning to check to make sure I am not putting myself at risk by stopping the pill. I think I am doing the right thing for me. I think it would be best to call your Dr. and ask.
Also item to note: YAZ is used to treat the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), such as anxiety, depression, irritability, trouble concentrating, lack of energy, sleep or appetite changes, and feeling out of control. PMDD can also cause physical symptoms such as breast tenderness, joint or muscle pain, headache, and bloating or weight gain.
I feel like this describes my symptoms to a tee.

My biggest complaint on the 25mg dosage of Levoxyl is joint pain in my hands. It even hurts to shake someone's hand. I called my doc. to get my prescription changed to something else. (I'm hypothyroid), and he said the Levoxyl was not causing my problems. Are there any other drugs available to treat hypothryroidism, and what are they? Thanx!

Hello all: right now i am on 0.075 mgs. of levothyroxine and i would like to lower the dose to 0.050 mgs. because at the present dose i feel real hunger most of the time, more nervous, and extreme heat when the weather gets too hot. Do you all think i should lower the dose to 0.050 mgs? i have tried lowering the dose, but then i would feel real depressed, and that doesn't help a lot because we need a lot of motivation to cope with this capitalist hell in which we live !! Thanx all and hope you all get better

hey gypsi, I, for one, am sorry for not responding to the weight gain issue. I know very well about the weight gain problem. After stopping pred. on June 10th, I've lost so far, 32 lbs. I've got about 25 to go. I'm glad that the problem for u was water retention. I'm still struggling with blood pressure problems but today is a good since last Friday when this all started. I still have alot of the withdrawal effects but have noticed I'm calming down alot which may help my blood pressure. Still don't sleep much but able to tolerate it better. For those who r going thru this, U R NOT ALONE. I wish that the doctors would do indepth research on this demon drug before putting us on it. I pray for all of u. If u have family members or a spouse that doesn't understand, print out some of these posts and show them. I've been blessed that my family and friends know and understand. My husband works all day so I get alot of frustration out during my time alone. If u can't sleep try benadryl or something otc. It will take a while for me to feel "normal" again. Thanx for listening

thanx gypsi! The problem is that my doctor took me off cold turkey 10 weeks ago! I've been told no one should quit cold turkey and it really scared me. What should I do now after 10 weeks of no pred.? The ten weeks have been harder on me than when I was on pred. I even took 5 mgs today to get my blood pressure back up and it worked. I'm not going to start taking it again, but I can't stand feeling the way I am now. Thanks for responding I appreciate it trailblazen

I need some feedback on a sideeffect I think is happening because of pred. withdrawl. For the last three days my blood pressure is low and I'm very dizzy. I've had some lightheadedness after coming off of pred. but now I have low blood pressure. Does anyone think this is because of pred. withdrawl? I was on it for 4 yrs. very concerned.....thanx

In regards to your son....I remember I also used to get this unbearable stomach pain, it was so bad that I couldn't even walk straight, my back was usually curved to the front, sometimes it felt like a sharp pain right next to my belly. It usually seemed to happen after eating salads, soup or too much liquid....my belly was bloated but I wasn't eating much...it was terrible. Anyway, so I went to the Dr. and prescribed me this medication called "Dicyclomine." Ask your Dr. about it...it took away the awful sharp pain like magic. I also heard from a friend that Apple Cider Vinegar does wonders and I must say it worked for me...didn't need to take Dicyclomine anymore. It might be helpful and may relief you son's tummy pain.....you can get it at any natural food stores...it worked like a miracle on me so I figure might as well pass the word around ;) Good luck w/your son's recovery :) & if you try the Apple Cider Vinegar pls. let me know how it worked for you.....thanx

Thanx for the info. My first period after pred. was heavy for 3 days and barely there for 4. That's a first in my life. Mine before and during pred. lasted only 3 days and was really normal. We'll see next month. I hope my teeth don't fall out LOL I guess in some cases it happens. My teeth r fine, just some minor gum irritation. My dentist told me to use salt water or dilute Listerene with water and use that and it will take care of the problem. take care

Wellbutrin makes my hair fall out and really really angry. I've been screaming and just very irritated. I worry about everything. It helps my pms and ocd thoughts but I don't know if that's worth all this irritability. I notice that I just want to give up all the time because I am so overwhelmed with everything. Lexapro is really good for me but I am overweight and need to lose weight and lexy wouldn't let me do that. My plan is to try and stick it out for a couple of months with wellbutrin and get this weight off and then go back to lex. Lex does not cause me to gain weight, just won't let me lose any weight. I hate my attitude and anxiety and I hate being overweight, I feel like I'm making the right choice at the moment and am eagerly anticipating the day I can drop wellbutrin. I do have to say that without wellbutrin I get crazy mad (ptsd) no sleep crying constantly just really freaked out so it does help a little. And the hairloss isn't too bad, no sexual side effects or headaches, no nausea bad dreams etc...just very angry and sweaty...Thanx for reading :) Lori
