62 yo female. I have been on 20mg Lipitor for a few years and the doctor ignored my complaints of thigh pain when I wake up in the mornings. When last tested my cholesteral level was still higher than she thought acceptable so the dose was increased to 40mg. I lasted on that for about 3 weeks. Unbearable pain all day rather than just in the mornings. I am back on 20mg but only taking one every second day. I am feeling so much better - less pain and much more energy (which I never associated with the meds). I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem with urine output. I have had this problem for a few years and after reading doing some internet research last night I am now wondering if that is also a result of taking Lipitor. I am very close to ceasing the Lipitor altogether as I think the cure may be worse than the disease!!

I am totally shocked at what I have learned about Lipitor. My physician prescribed 10mg for me over 4 years ago. No major problems until recently. Severe neck/shoulder pain for about 3 months. Dr said it was a pulled muscle. Gave me Skelaxin. No help. Went to Chiropractor--yanked, cracked, beat, etc--no help. In the past 2 weeks or so I have developed pain in my hips, back and legs. Blamed it on being 52 years old. As I read some of the experiences on here I could relate to each one. I also have gained about 30 pounds in the past 4 years, short term memory is terrible. NO ENERGY> 3 years ago-Dr started me on Wellbutrin for depression, then added Zoloft. I am to the point now I want to get off of all this and see how I could really feel. Not sure about withdrawals. Any comments on stopping the meds?

I looked for side effects because I developed calf and thigh pain when I tried to start running again. Bingo! I see I am not alone. This is a very deviliating side effect (I had to walk home; couldn't run). Also, my heart rate is much higher than usual for the same level of activity (I see, this, also has been reported. ALSO, I couldn't sleep much of the night (again, similar reports). Other than that, a remarkable drug (I was taking 500 mg up until searching on Google today). These are not "trivial" side effects.

Hi. I took Levaquin for 3 days for a sinus infection. I was supposed to take 10.
I had thigh pain, I felt like I was on a boat all the time, I saw things that were not there, had unbelievable dreams, and generally felt like crap.
The drug DID gt rid of my sinus infection, but since I didn't take the entire course I have it again. My Dr REFUSED to give me anything else, so I'm now getting a 2nd opinion.
It seems some people just can't tolerate this drug very well, but if you can deal w/the side effects it works great!

Been taking Lipitor for over two years without any problem that I attributed to it. Started traiing for a marathon--never run before in my life. Steadily increasing thigh pain which i attributed to the training until I am in SEVERE pain mainly in my thighs. Can barely go up or down stairs or uphill or downhill. Had to stop running and can't even really even walk for exercise right now. Taking Ibuprofen like M&M's. Just met someone this week who told me that extreme exercise caused him to have the same symptoms. I am relieved to find that stopping the Lipitor might allow me to once again exercise and maybe even do the marathon with my training group. Wonder if my indigestion if from Lipitor also?

I just wanted to add that I have experienced shoulder pain (couldn't lift my right arm), back pain and thigh pain, plus swollen feet and right eye vision disturbances. Been off about 2 weeks and finally think I am getting some slight improvement. I hope it continues to improve.

I had the first Kenalog injection in Dec '07. The dermatologist looked at the keloids on my CHEST, produced a horse needle, and (felt like) stabbed me; but not before saying that he was giving me an anesthetic for pain. (Why give the anesthetic simultaneous to the treatment medication? When is the anesthetic given time to numb the tissue?) The pain was so bad I lost my breath and couldn't find the voice to scream; then the burning pain in my chest to my back made it almost impossible for me to drive home. He never said a word about what he had injected into me and when I asked he wrote down "kenalog" and told me to go research it for myself!
I was paralyzed emotionally for over a year after that traumatic experience, experiencing weird side effects including non-specific reoccurring bodily pain, excessive bleeding during periods and other stuff I just didn't connect.
Since, because the keloids had gotten bigger and more painful, a different dermatologist gave me injections 3 times in 5 months in '09. To her credit, she was assisted by a nurse and together they took their time using small needles to administer anesthetic before kenalog. NOW, A MONTH AFTER THE 3RD TREATMENT, I HAVE NUMBNESS IN MY LEFT THIGH, PAIN AND SWELLING IN BOTH LOWER LEGS AND FEET, A BIG BLOATED BELLY, SEVERE ACID/ULCER PAIN, WEAK HIPS AND LEG MUSCLES (WHEN I GET UP, I WALK LIKE A GERIATRIC PATIENT...A 35 YR. OLD ONE!), WILD DREAMS AND FEELINGS OF FEAR, FATIGUE, ANGRY AND/OR UPSET ALOT, NON-SPECIFIC BURNING PAIN IN MY RIGHT ARM, VIOLENT EYE TWITCHING THAT LASTED FOR 2 WEEKS AND STOPPED ONLY WHEN I WENT TO SLEEP....Dying seemed kind of worth looking into the other day. I'm thinking MS or messed up pituitary because of what I'm experiencing....and of the 4 dermatologists I'd consulted, everyone swears on their mama's grave that kenalog use is not connected to any such medical issues. All I keep wondering is whether the drive to maintain their fancy lifestyles and relationships with Rx companies is also sufficient to keep their consciences in the comatose state THEY MUST BE IN?!
