Three fingers symptoms and conditions

I started to take Levaquin on the 7th of January for pneumonia. This is the 10th of January and I woke up in the middle with the three fingers on my right in pain and really stiff. The back of my legs is stiff to walk and I have felt dizzy. I have never taken any medication for over 30 years and just thought the side affects of dizziness were normal. Then I read the booklet that the drug store had given me and realized that this is not a good drug so went on the internet and found out about the lawsuit. I have had headache the past two days, a taste in my mouth that makes all food taste terrible, soreness around my shoulders and legs and when I get up in the morning my hips are just aching. No more of that drug. It should be taken off the the shelves. I hope that I am going to be okay and that I don't suffer any other side affects from taking a drug that shouldn't be prescribed in the first place.I live in Arizona for the winter and this drug was given to me by a doctor here in Arizona. about a week ago I admitted myself to ER because of terrible breakout of hives (never had them before) but was covered from head to toe.

Doctor prescribed PREDNISONE 80mg for 4 days, and gave me an IV with the drug a week ago Saturday night (don't know how much was there), 12/29/07, I took my daily dose 80mg Sunday noon. I only slept about an hour or two. By new years eve 12/31, I have started getting cold chills, feeling unbearably cold, then the next day 1/1, I felt like I was 100 years old, all my joints were stiff, I couldn't get up from bed, couldn't sleep much but there is still more.

By Wednesday I have felt even more stiff and hives were not going away, I went to the doctor (my stiffness went away after couple hours in the morning) he prescribed more PREDNISONe for another week, luckily I have stopped taking the medication after 5 days of 80mg, plus whatever they gave in in an IV but I still have what I think are side effects from taking it.

Ankles are still sore, I cannot sleep because an extreme numbness sets in my left hand middle to index finger, it is no numb it hurts like an elephant is sitting on it, that is why I am still up at 4:30 in the morning. When I am up it just tingles. Not sure what to do but can't sleep at all for last 3 days and getting really tired.

If I knew what Prednisone does I would never take any of it, I'd rather deal with hives oh and they still didn't go away, I have had them for about 10 days now, they did stop itching. Honestly I felt very very sick a day after taking it, I didn't associate this with Prednisone, until I found this website. Please if you can stop taking it or see for yourself how much you should take 80mg is definitely too much, for me at least.

Did anyone have to deal with joint stiffness, and numbness how long does it take for it to go away. My wife says to to ER again because I can't sleep I am just very uncomfortable with the numbness and rattle in bed, but guess what they could shoot me up with more Prednisone.

I had been on Yasmine for about two years with no complications until last week. Last week my heart began beating extremely fast just while sitting at my desk typing. Later on in the day my chest began feelign tight and I had an "anxious" feeling in my upper body. At the same time my lower body felt completely weak- as if my legs could not support my body weight if I were to stand. Evenso, I thought nothing of it and just assumed my normal one cup of coffee just so happened to have a strong effect on me that day. The next day the anxious feeling and weakness had subsided but my left arm and hand were tingling. It felt as if they had fallen asleep and now had that "cotton" feeling. The next morning I lost all feeling in my left hand except for my first three fingers. This is when I began trying to figure out what on earth I may have eaten, where I had been, had i drank too much coffee, etc.

I rarely drink alcahol, don't smoke, have no family history of heart problems, etc. I don't take any other medications, I don't take vitamins, I dont eat strange foods, and exercise regularly. The only thing I could possibly change is my birth control. I immediately quit taking Yasmine and all problems disappeared in two days.

My husband is taking Zocor. The problems he has had is lung cancer(doing chemo) and had a mild stroke in October. the stroke caused him to have memory loss and is not able to read at all. On his left hand, two to three fingers are numb and tingling all the time. I am beginning to wonder if Zocor could have caused the stroke. His blood pressure is fine with medication. He has had constant headache for the last 3 weeks. It is difficult to pinpoint what is causing the problem when a person has several health problems. Dolphinmadam@aol.com
