I hate Effexor XR. I don't really know how long I have been on this medicine because I have almost no short term memory since I have been taking it. I am so hot all the time it's just unbearable. I am sweating when my house temp is 68 degrees. I freeze everyone out of the house, out of the car, etc., because I am never comfortable. I no longer own a winter coat because I don't need one unless it is below zero. I don't own any long sleeve shirts except for a denim one in which I wear as my jacket. I wear short sleeve I have discussed this with my doctor whom always tells me he doesn't think the medicine is the cause of this. Although every time he increases the strength I'm taking, the sweating intensifies. I also wake up in the middle of the night gasping for breath, with an irregular heartbeat and/or my heart beat soaring. I have also experienced the problem with taste. Many things I used to love to eat or drink are no longer tolerable. Nothing tastes quite right. I too have had the dry mouth/cotton-throat problems. I have noticed my emotions are screwed up also. I can hardly cry about the most saddest things I have faced, but will cry about stupid things that don't truly matter. I worry about everything, and I DO mean EVERYTHING, luckily it doesn't last too long because nothing can hold my train of thought for very long. My doc has had me on Zoloft, Celexa and others and there were problems with those also. But I feel that Effexor XR is the worst one I have been on that has caused so many other problems while helping the depression/anxiety disorder. I think the bad outweighs the good, but my doctor refuses to agree with me on this and I have no health insurance to take my problem elsewhere. I have never taken Xanax, Valium or any other "controlled" substances because my doc is afraid of his patients becoming addicted to these drugs. Although Effexor XR is apparently addicting too since you have to be weened off of it. I wish I had NEVER begun to take Effexor XR, good luck to all of you that do! If I knew then what I know now, I would NEVER take it!

Last year i changed from working retail to an outside field tech job, it involves no or little physical labor, recently i had to do one day on a dirt site outside and the next day in the desert at 113 degrees. i drank 11 bottles of 16oz h2o but still ended up in the er. so far it seems after reading the other comments, that though the lisinopril does lower my bp, it also causes depletion of electrolytes in high heat areas if you are not acclimated to it. I also now know why i have constant throat problems, coughing and clearing of my throat after meals, and my muscle fatigue...

I've been taking Topamax now for about 6 weeks, and my headaches are still just as bad as ever, except now I have headaches with the thrill of numb fingers, confusion, weight loss, memory loss, an absolute horrid taste in my mouth, and now the latest.... my hands feel dirty all the time. Has anyone experienced this?? I just feel like my hands are dirty. I wash them, and a half hour later, it almost feels like there's a film on them, and I have to wash them again. Almost ocd-ish. So 6 weeks in.... Anyone have any advise on how much longer I should give this topamax before I give up on it & try something else? My doc said it should have worked by now if it was gonna - but I have read on here, that it sometimes can take months...? I just don't know if I can take these side effects, AND the headaches for much longer without going NUTS! {grin}
Any advise?

I'm a healthy 46 year old female, went to the Dr. a few months back because my Asthma acted up (hadn't had problems with it for years). Took Advair and it really worked... but I've had many of the same symptoms I've read about on this site. Leg cramps, itchy skin, throat problems... all have gone since I stopped taking Advair except the throat. It feels like I've swallowed a marble and it's stuck in my adams apple... and I get hoarse fast. Anyone know what I can do to stop this?

I did have some pretty severe sinus and throat problems in the 1 month that i was on this pill. It still hasnt cleared completely. I have sore throat, dry throat, pain behind ears. My ENT did an endoscopy to check if i have acid reflux or post nasal drip. But there was nothing wrong there. So he has concluded that this might be because of hormonal prob. My family doc told me that before periods, my fluid retention might be going up and this can cause a feeling of a lump in throat and sinus problems. all docs have told me to wait till the hormones sort themselves out.

I've been on Advair 250 for about 6 months now and have gained alot of weight. I don't have any throat problems, as I was told that you must rinse your mouth after taking the medication. The last week, I started to think that it was the Advair that might be causing the Weight Gain that is causing me to feel Miserable!!!!!! How do I get off of the Advair. I read that you just don't stop it, so I gather that you have to wean yourself off???? Karla

I have been on singulair for about 4 months now. I was feeling sick and found out I have anxiety issues and with deaths in my family, I turned into a hypo. Although real things were happening. I found out I am allergic to a lot of things, dogs, cats, molds, dust, etc. and this all started with moving into this house. Anways I am 20 years old and take the chewable singulair because I have a problem swallowing pills (I take 2 a night). I have found myself having more trouble breating, pain in the chest and a heavy feeling. I feel like my heart beats irregularly. I have throat problems and constant ear aches. Of course I have nose problems with the allergies. I am getting the allergy shots but that takes a while to work. Now reading what all of you have said I am wondering if singulair has made everything worse. I too have also had my hair shedding. I thought it was from the stress. Although I am afraid of everything at the moment I wonder if Singulair is making everything much worse. If anyone has any side affects they would like to share with me or any thoughts email me at ******

I'm on Lisinopril-HCTZ and have been for not even a month and I'm having those coughing spells so desperately, that I almost pass out. I can't stop coughing all day and night, now another doctor says I have asthma, but I don't think I do. I think its the adverse effects of this medication. I can't eat because it feels as though my esophagus is closing up all the time, I've been living on soup mostly since I started these meds, otherwise I can't swallow. I have to get off this medication because its causing decreased lung capacity already and I've only been on it two weeks!
