I have been on Yasmin for over a year and a bit and I have recently started getting major head aches, eye pain, chest pain, and I have high blood pressure to top it all off. My mom has told me that she experienced the same thing when she was on the pill (I dunno what kind) when she was my age and had to start taking high blood pressure pills at the age of 20 I am 19 at the moment and it looks like I am following in her footsteps. My advise for everyone on this pill is to watch your symptoms and if you develop head aches that you think are caused by your eyes (gets worse while reading or watching tv) THINK again it might be from Yasmin! So be careful ladies and watch out and get your eyes checked and your blood pressure checked the moment you start feeling symptoms. Its for the best and I hope no one has to go through the pain I have been feeling for the past month. Also watch out for shortness of breathe and tightness in chest.

I'm 27 years old and finally admitted to myself that I am depressed. My doctor put me on Wellbutrin XL. 150mg for the first week then 300mg ever since. My first week on 300mg I was extremely anxious, shaky, tightness in chest, couldn't sleep for days, etc. I started to split up my does. I took one pill in the morning and one about 5pm. This helped a lot. By week three I felt wonderful and decided to go back to taking both pills at the same time. Again, I felt great. By the Friday of my 3rd week, I began having hives like crazy. I have been living on Benadryl and Ibuprofen for the pain. Today is day 3 of hives and I am once again plastered. I also have extreme pain in my feet, to the point where I can barely walk. My hands (knuckles) and my knees are also tight and sore, but no where's as bad as my feet. I believe that my body may be very sensitive to this drug now. I have experienced just about every other side effect, but I pushed through it and they went away. Wellbutrin has been amazing for my mood and I am very sad at the thought that I may have to go off of it. Are the hives something that I can just push through or is the inevitable about to happen and I will be forced to stop using this drug?

I have been having many of the same symptoms while taking Doxycycline for Rosacea. Sweating excessively during the day and night sweats. Aching stomach whether taken on empty stomach or with food. Tightness in chest and feeling of anxiety and very emotional. I think it's the Doxy, I have been tested for hyperthyroid, because the symptoms are similar. This med. makes me feel like I'm going crazy. Has anyone stopped and how long does it take for all symptoms to go away. Has anyone switched to Tetracycline and had no side effects.

I'm 46, female.. developed blood clots on my lungs for apparently no reason, found them when going to ER and complaining of bad headache, nausea and left shoulder and back pain. I haven't had a recent surgery, nor was on birth control.
I'm dealing with anxiety, depression, unusual headache, horrible back and upper shoulder pain, itching of head, hair falling out during shampooing, , tightness in chest, trouble swallowing, really bad pain in hips, legs and feel like feet swell. I don't sleep well, even on Ambien.. doesn't keep me asleep. I awake in the mornings around 4:30 with diarrhea, nausea, headache and feel awful. Never get a good nights sleep. My hips hurt as well as dealing with parathesias down right arm and into hand.. feels like needles sticking in my hand. Most days I feel wiped out in the afternoon.. as I try and drag myself out of bed to get some excersise.
Does anyone deal with parathesia's down their arms or hands.. what feels like nerve pain?
Has anyone ever tried Aggrenox, also known as Dipyridamole instead?
Or actually tried the real Coumadin, instead of the generic Warfarin?
Has any other woman out there been told not to use a tampon when on her cycle, as this will cause more menstrual bleeding?
I'm so tired of Dr.'s not having personal experience of their own with this drug.. and telling the patient that they are crazy and need to be on anxiety meds or anti-depressants. I just found out that Warfarin is the main ingredient in RAT POISON..
Has anyone EVER gone the totally nutrition route, juiced and gone radical, telling their Dr.'s that they were getting off of all meds?
Does anyone suffer from feeling like their ears are full, or hearing loss?
I'm so tired of feeling afraid.. and tossed around by Dr.'s who really don't want to do the research, nor listen to their patients.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has some insight..on any or all of the questions..

I was on Minocin for acne for almost 2 years. It worked great. HOWEVER I started getting a stuffy nose that wouldn't go away. I went to ENT clinic for about 5 months trying to figure out what was wrong. Then I started getting so tired I could function or even to go to work. At this point I wasn't even thinking it could be the medicine since I had been on it so long. I started having days when the joints in my fingers would stiffen and my knees, hips would stiffen. There were times I could hardly walk. Then my rosecea would flare up really bad. Each place on my body where I had a scar, there would be a perfect round circle around it that would itch. One point they had dx me with cat scratch fever! Symptoms continued and got worse. I was having tightness in chest, shortness of breath and the joint pain would come and go. I was tested for lupus and received a "false postive" reading. At that point I started doing my own research and found out that some meds will cause a drug induced type of lupus. I stopped the med and symptoms went away. They put me on doxycycline and immediately I started getting a stuffy nose and my joints would ache. I can no longer take any meds that are in the "cycline" family. However, I just thougt it odd that I could be on a medicine for 2 years before I had any type of reaction.

I was experiencing high b/p so the doctor prescribed, Metoprolol 25 mg a day. I took it for one month and was having burning sensations in chest below breast bone, palpitations, tightness in chest like I could not get a full breath of air. Stomach pain, gas nausea and upset bowels. I complained to my doctor and he switched me to Toprol XL and upped it to 50 mgs a day. Still having palpitations, burning sensation in chest and stomach upset. I am hoping the side effects will diminish and my body adjust to this pill. The doctor has told me to give it some more time to allow for this.

I began 50 mg Toprol XL 2 years ago then reduced to 25 mg when palps and blood pressure normalized. Had trouble sleeping. Back in August, I began taking the generic version Metoprolol. One day I couldn't feel my index finger and thumb on right hand and immediate began to worry. I also began feeling depressed and was having terrible panic attacks. Sleeping was non-existent. Also, my chest felt as if it was on fire. Throat closed up and had difficulty breathing. Went to Walgreens nurse and she looked at me funny and said it was allergies to try Claritin and Flonase. DID NOT HELP! Went to the Dr. and he too chalked that up to allergies and gave me a shot. That relieved the breathing symptoms but nothing else. He told me numbness was tendonitis and gave me a "pretty brace." Numbness and tingling did not improve in fact went into other arm which caused me alarm. I went to chiropractor for help...nice massages but still numbness! Then my hands and feet started going cold...I'd had it. Went back to Dr and he put me on Xanax for panic attacks, told me I was depressed and need to see a psychiatrist for mood altering meds. I was ready to slug him! The numbness and tingling are insane! The Dr. to appease me switched me back to Toprol XL...no relief then tried Atenolol. The thing is for a few days while the insurance was figuring out what to pay for, I didn't take meds and began improving. Tried Atenolol and symptoms came right back. Called Dr and was told to just stop altogether...no weaning. Terrible tightness in chest could not breathe...miserable and scary. The next day I got a little better. Sleep improved somewhat but still having trouble with muscles tingling in feet up to knees and muscle cramping in right calve and for arms. Wondering how long this stuff stays in system. Seems to me I should be done...I have been off 17 days and am looking for relief for muscles symptoms...also looking for new Dr...anyone out there know how long this stuff hangs out in your muscles and stuff?????

I'm so glad I googled side effects of Yasmin and found this site. All of the sudden my mood swings for the past almost YEAR make sense. I started out fine. The pill was great, and I haven't had to worry about acne at all. Of course I gained a few pounds, but not too much. However, I'm a pre medical student trying to study for the MCAT this summer. I've been SO tired and drained and majorly depressed that I just can't seem to concentrate. I feel like I'm always crying over the stupidest stuff (AKA: no reason at ALL), and my grades are starting to suffer. Hopefully now that I've read this, I can stop taking this pill and see an improvement. It's just not worth the depression. I'm 22 right now, and until recently had never had a suicidal thought. I was starting to panic, because I couldn't identify the cause of my depression. I'm a good student, have lots of friends, and have the most amazing boyfriend and family. Life is good, I shouldn't feel this bad. Now that I have a clue as to what this may be, I can fix it.

I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

Are there any good things that have helped people taking this drug? I started taking Bupropion today don't like the sounds of the side effect was just wondering is it worth taking? Maybe the medicine is worse than the problem. Already have headaches, tightness in chest so how would you know if you are having a side effect?

I tried Fosamax twice ...... the second try was two months after the first. Each time I developed a choking sensation, knee and back pain. My bite is much different, my kneecaps have drifted laterally and it is difficult to go up and down stairs or get in a pickup truck. I also am experiencing extreme fatigue, racing heart and sweating which has never occurred before. This happened each time by the second week. This time months later the symptoms are still with me. My doctor is clueless. I'm in the process of seeking another doctor. This is the result of taking a total of four tablets.

Am 45 year old female. Was prescribed 25 mg.of Toprol 2 months ago for rapid heartbeat and occasional tightness in chest. Immediately developed constant aching, bruised feeling in chest. Also experienced occasional weird "hollow" feeling in sternum. Hallucinations in the beginning but those went away within a week. After about a month, the achy feeling went away, but now I have red, blotchy rash on chest and back. Am going to start taking 1/2 of meds and get off of these pills!

I started taking Wellbutrin in October 2004 to quit smoking. Started at 150mg and moved up to 300 mg. Within two weeks of taking the higher dose I experienced dizziness, nausea, vertigo, tremors, muscle cramping, panic attacks, heart palpitations, concentration problems, decreased appetite, hypersensitivity to motion, smells and sounds, crying spells and feelings of impending doom. I went to the emergency room on three different occasions because I felt like I was having a heart attack (tightness in chest, racing heart, nausea, trouble breathing) and was told I had nothing wrong. I also had thoughts of suicide because I felt so bad I wanted to make it stop. I went back to my doctor and requested he taper me off due to the side effects. He did and after a month I still had the symptoms. I missed a month of work and had to stay with family because I couldn't take care of myself or my 3 year old and my husband didn't know what else to do. I finally went back to the doctor and begged for relief. I also requested he run tests to check for other causes. He did blood work and 12 lead heart monitor and found I had slight tachycardia (palpitations), but said I was healthy. He diagnosed me with having General Anxiety Disorder and put me on Paxil. I've been on Paxil for 9 months and still have some symptoms albiet much milder than before. I am now sure that any SSRI's are not for me and am looking for alternative therapies. Also, I am going to see an endocrinologist and a cardiologist just to make sure I have no other problems. I would suggest not taking a drug to quit smoking-cold turkey is the best! I was perfectly normal before I started taking these drugs. This past year has been a living nightmare. I realized my experience is very intense compared to others who have taken Wellbutrin and people react differently to medications but I would have to say that had I continued taking it I would have died. I am 36 years old, have a wonderful family and a job I love. I do not believe I have an anxiety disorder! If anyone who reads this has had a similar experience, my suggestion is to SLOWLY get off it with help from your doctor and find alternative therapy, ie. biofeedback, nutrition, homeopathic, ect. Good luck to all of you!

I have experienced many of the side effects listed here. Tightness in chest, heavy congestion, dry cough, etc etc. I have noticed several people here seem to have just stopped using this drug. Is this true? I tried and my BP shot way up higher than before using the drug. I talked to my doctor and we decided to try Altace. I don't seem to have as many side effects with this as Lisinpril but still have some dizzyness and a dry cough. Has anyone had good experience with any of these type of BP medications??
