It freaks me out to read all of your stories. I'm sorry for each one of you and are going through it as well with my angel. I can't find one that fits my little one. Believe it or not they gave my daughter a Kenalog injection when she had an allergic reaction, SHE WAS 8 MONTHS AT THE TIME. 3 months later an atrophy occurred. We have begun the lawsuit. PLEASE anybody give me info that could help us to make these doctors recognize their mistakes!!!

I have been off and on birth control pills for years. I was on Yasmin for 4 years but I had to switch because I started having cramps all of the time, 3 out of 4 weeks a month, no sex drive too. Changed to Femcon Fe. Not too bad. I don't know if what I am experiencing is attributed to this pill but I can say I do have cramps when I shouldn't. I have been on this pill about 5 months. I have had my share of pills though. I am getting off after I complete this pack. I think all pills have side effects. You have to figure out which one is best for you and then keep your fingers crossed. I have had the same symptoms many of the other women have had with different pills. My advice,,,,if you are having symptoms that interfere with your life in some way or fashion, talk with your doctor. That pill may not be for you. Hey, after the years....the pill is simply not for me.

I'm 22 and have had my Mirena since April of 2006. At first I thought it was the best thing ever to have because I didn't have to worry about taking the pill on time, the patch that never stayed or having a shot that i don't like. My periods stopped completely within a month and I haven't had any since. I have recently felt like i am pregnant again due to the fluttering feelings in my stomach the tenderness of my breasts and the sensitive smell. My stomach cramps during certain positions of sex. Within in the last year i have noticed that i'm losing hair, my moods vary from day to day. I feel a constant pain in my back and fear that it has punctured through my uterus. I am planning on having it removed as soon as I can get a doctors appointment. I am ready to have the pain go away but the periods not to come back.

I am a male of 67 years old. I took Lipitor for a year, and after a few months of taking it, I felt muscle pains in my arms and shoulders, as well as my back. I felt weak and could hardly put my socks on by myself. I told my family doctor that I thought the problem was caused by LIpitor. He said it couldn't be possible, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong, so he sent me to a rheumatologist, who gave me an initial diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatica. I went back for a checkup, and although the sed rate was normal, the C-reactive protein was elevated. He felt his diagnosis was an accurate one. He prescribed prednisone for me. I had some doubts about it, since I am diabetic, and was concerned about the elevated blood sugar it might cause. Well, it did elevate my blood sugar, and I weaned myself off it within three months. My blood sugar went back to normal, and while the prednisone helped the symptoms of muscle pain and aches, after I stopped it, the pain returned with a vengeance.
About a year passed after discontinuing the prednisone, and I felt worse and worse. Any time I engaged in physical activity, such as yard work, I was almost incapacitated for two or three days. I felt weaker and weaker, and by now, my activity is about ten per cent of what it was three or four years ago. I am unable to do anything physical without paying a heavy price.
I would tell the doctor that I felt the problem was caused by the Lipitor. He would dismiss my comments, saying that the pain should have gone away after discontinuing Lipitor. He sent me back to the rheumatologist with results of recent blood tests. Both the sed rate and C-reactive protein were normal. The rheumatologist touched my back and other areas, which caused me to jump. He said it might be fibromyalgia. I told him again that I thought it was caused by the Lipitor. He said the same thing my GP had said: if it had been the Lipitor, the pain would have gone away when I stopped taking it. I know the Lipitor caused the pain, because I tried red yeast rice for a couple months. The pain increased to almost unbearable, so I discontinued the red yeast rice. If I were not susceptible to the pain from the Lipitor, would the red yeast rice have increased the pain?
So here I am with a fuzzy diagnosis from the rheumatologist, and no clue from my family doctor (that he will verbalize, at any rate). My life has gone steadily downhill. I used to be a strong, active person, but now I can do very little, and my strength is a shadow of what it formerly was. What can I do?

I started Femcon FE for the first time 3 1/2 weeks ago, and have noticed weight gain (5-7lbs), severe bloating, pains in my abdomen, not depressed, but definitely not as upbeat & positive as usual. I also have been much more jumpy, thinking I'm seeing things out of the corner of my eye... I have been on birth control for many years, and have never had such noticeable changes as with this one!! YUCK! I'm thinking about going back to my old pill!!! I'm so glad I found this site, I could not figure out why I felt so different all of a sudden!

I am in the middle of my treatment and I would like to say that it is HORRIBLE. I wish that I never took Aldara, I would rather live with the little tiny almost invisible genital warts than deal with the terrible side effects of Aldara. So far the Aldara cream has only made things worse. The skin on my penis now looks red and seems to be scarring from where a negative reaction to the cream has taken place. The skin on that part of my penis is really sensitive and may start bleeding if it rubs against something. This treatment is also taking a really long time (3+months) basically I am starting to feel like Aldara is ruining my life. I am thinking I will have permanent irreversible damage done to my penis because of the cream, and I could have just let the tiny little warts go away on their own, because Aldara hasn't done anything to to get rid of them, only made it worse.

I took Avelox for the 1st time 3 days ago for a sinus infection. After the 1st pill I began sneezing uncontrollably. I didn't sleep a wink that night. I took my 2nd and 3rd dose the next few days and literally had not slept for 3 days straight-total INSOMNIA. My hands and legs felt so tingly I had no idea what was happening. I felt faint. Then my mouth became so dry. I couldn't breathe-all I kept thinking was my throat was closing up. It was horrible. My teeth hurt, my lips were swollen and dry,my vision was blurry, vomiting, loose stool.... My eyes were sore and swollen and I had no idea I was having an allergic reaction to the Avelox. Today is the 1st day I haven't taken a dose and I'm still feeling funky. Tight chest and blurred vision bad.I am severely fatigued. I just wonder how long this medicine stays in your system.

I have been taking femcon for 3 weeks so far and have been spotting ever since the first day. My period is supposed to be next week sometime. I know I have to give my body time (3 months) to adjust to this pill but is it normal to be spotting like this plus itch like crazy?

hum... i'm sorry to read all these messages...
i hope all of you are feeling better in a near future, if you're not already!
someone there asked if there's anything good to take...
i actually ended up on this page because i was considering taking yasmin.
i'm from brazil, i used to take another pill before, called diane
it really made my skin look good
then i switched to nuvaring
i've been using nuvaring for a long time, 3 or 4 years, can't remember
since they first started to sell it
it's pretty good
i never had any problems
but i do get some acne eventually, and then i thought about looking for a pill like the one i used before
but apparently it may not a good idea to quit something that works great
i hope this helps, at least as a different suggestion
good luck :)

I posted May 10. Since then, I have continued taking Advair, but am now almost completely SIDE EFFECT FREE!
The trick is to remove what doesn't make it to your lungs. DON'T SWALLOW ANY! Rinse and gargle five times.:
1,2 - Gargle lightly and deeply 2x to get it off your voice box. Spit each time.
3,4 - Gargle strongly 2x to get it off the sides of your throat. Spit each time.
5 - Rinse mouth thoroughly and spit
After 1 week, heartburn and hoarseness were gone. After two weeks now, I have regained some voice control. (It may never be perfect with Advair because he bronchodilator may also be relaxing the muscles around the voice box.)
It's likely that a lot of the long-term symptoms like bruising could be from prolonged swallowing/ingestion of the stuff.
If Advair can control my asthma with no side effects, then I don't care about addiction. Have to take something daily in any case.
Please, anyone who tries the gargling, share whay you have learned!!!

I have had a TERRIBLE time. 3 months-of almost non stop bleeding (3 1/2 weeks, 2 1/2 weeks and 16 days and counting )and I do already have overactive bladder but now all the sudden if I don't run to the bathroom as soon as I have to pee(even if my ladder is not full) or if i sneeze I pee myself and i am 29!!-this never used to happen!! My obgyn finally decided to switch me to the pill thats 3 months of active and 1 week of sugar. The whole reason i tried this was bc my periods were beginning to get longer (7-8 days) and this made them so much worse. She did a biopsy and an ultrasound both of which were normal. I already have a non-hormonal iud (which i have had for 3 years) but we left it in bc i take topamax (which decreased the effectiveness of birth control) for migraines so i need the iud for birth control. im just trying something else to improve my periods and obviously this is not it! i am beginning to wonder if the topomax also causes an increase in bleeding too...
