I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

Started taking Advair in 2003. It helped, I stayed on and off of it for the first year. Then found myself growing more reliant. Last month I added Singulair and Flonaise to the mix. Kaboom! Last night I took myself to the Emergency Room! I was sure I was experiencing a heart attack this time. Blood pressure soaring 198/120. Chest, head, jaw and back pain. Indigestion intesifing signaling all the nightmares. Restless, sleepless night anxious days. My voice has changed, sinusitis increasing, even sleep disorders.
I feel like a Macy's Thanksgiving Baloon stuck in the electric wires (inflated and electrified) Over the last 3 years I've gained 50lbs, and started having occasional anxiety attacks. Personal circumstances brain washed me into thinking that I was bringing it all on myself. Yeast infections, yep gotten them and given them.
I'm done! Over! This purple disc is going to kill me~ going to see the allergists this week.

I am a 24 year old male. I started taking 25 mg toprol because I was rushed to the hospitol with left face, back left of my head and left arm going numb. At arrival my blood pressure reading was 202/120 and they couldn't get it down right away and I don't think they had any idea what was wrong. They did a million test and the only thing they fpund out they thought was that my (I think my white blood cells being at 56) so they said I had polysithemia( not sure of the spelling) so they sent me home with 25 mg of toprol and every other week drawing a pint of blood from me. Which sort of helped but then I started getting these terrible headeaches in the back left of my head that are the worst pain, it shuts me right down its hard to function. and at this time blood pressure was still pretty high 165-170/95-105 on average. so they upped my dose to 50 mg and for a couple of months I just dealt with the pain that I was still having cause I gave up on my doctors they were realy starting to piss me off. then I had another check up and my blood pressure I told them was still high 145-155/95-100 so they upped my dose again to 100 mg. but know I have terrible lower back pain which I thought it was my kidneys but got check and it isn't same damn head aches tingling in my left part of my face, deep muscle pain, leg cramps all the time specially my left calf for some reason, my eyes are swelled shut 3 out of 7 days a week and through out the day my eyes are almost always blood shot red, like there bleeding. and like all this isn't enough I have had mono, tharyngitis lyarangitis, scarlet fever, pneumonea, and broncittis all in the last 6 to 7 months. Fun!!! any feed back would be greatly appreciated
thanks
