I have had Mirena for 18 months now. I love it. I have had no side effects that you all are describing. I have 4 friends that switched and all love it and only one had to have a follow up to have the strings shortened.

As far as the weight gain, ladies, let’s be honest. We are not 18 anymore and as we get older it is only going to become more difficult to keep weight off. Blaming it on a B/C....lets think about that last chocolate bar we ate because we were busy carting the kids off to a sports practice HMMM....
With any drug comes side effects, headaches, nausea, and some other terribly worse, but lets again be honest, all of these were pointed out in the literature available.

I just thought I would take the time to write my support as this does work and work well for some women, just not all, same as any other form of B/C.

I have been on lisinopril for over 3 years - 5 mg/day. I am a 52 year old female in great shape and exercise daily. For over a year now I have had muscle aches, muscle weakness, heart palpitations, foggy brain feeling, insomnia, fatigue, some tingling in extremities. I also sometimes get these spells where all these symptoms come on at once. It's very strange. Been to numerous doctors including, PCP, 2 neurologists and a rheumatologist and after many tests they all come up with nothing. After reading posts at this site I think it may be the Lisinopril and with my PCP's permission stopped taking it 11 days ago. My blood pressure is fine - I am monitoring it daily. My symptoms still remain. Does anyone know how long these symptoms may continue? I am grateful for any additional information you could provide.

Initially, numbness and tingling in extremities which subsided, but memory loss and loss for words is very uncomfortable, and my neurologist suggested caffeine every AM to compensate, which helps some, but not enough. Difficulty reaching orgasm has become very frustrating as a side effect, but is better than the horrible headaches every day. What a choice!!1

Hello,

Male 50, retired Federal Law Enforcement Agent on 50MG of Toprol XL for hypertension. Bad side effects, dizzy, light-headed, frequent blood pressure drops, pressure in head, lethargic and some tingling in extremities. Symptoms especially worsen after my 45 in walk/jog. The other day I made the mistake of taking this on an empty stomach in the morning prior to the exercise routine. gave me a heck of a wallop afterwards. Stress test, EKG, Holter recorder and blood work all OK. Dr. told me to drop dosage to .25. I'm thinking about dropping the whole damn bottle in the trash. Blood pressure is under under control now so between the retirement and better diet/exercise I think I can stay OK without Toprol. I think Doctors need to pay better attention to the adverse side effects from this stuff as I am reading in here.

Happy Holidays to all!!

I have been on topamax for over 2 yrs, 200mg for migraines and have not had weight loss but have experienced tingling in extremities and face. Also, have not had the desire to have soda and now that makes sense. Recently I have been diagnosed with Hemiplegic migraines so my dosage went up to 250mg a day and my ears have been ringing non stop... thank goodness for this site, I'm talking to my doctor about cutting back to 200mg!

I took singulair for 5 years while I was in college. From ages 18-23. I had violent mood swings and anxiety (which I attributed to the stress of school, but very uncharacteristic for me), I had vivid night mares, hyperactivity, and worst of all extreme joint pain with tingling in extremities. I am now 26 and I still suffer from joint pain, tingling extremities and night mares, my mood swings and anxieties are lessened but are still present and I make a concious effort to quell them. My hands, knees, wrists, fingers, spine and hip make me feel like and octegenarian (an 80 year old). The pain is so great that I must eat 800mg or more of ibuprofen a day. I am too young to have these issues and I have cared for my joints well with lots of low impact excercising and glucosamine chondroiten. I am glad that I found this site, it explains my severe pain for the past 7 years. I am going to talk to my doctor first and then my lawyer. Class action law suit here I come!!
