My two sons have been taking Singulair off and on for allergy symptoms. Recently, I noticed this was causing both of them some side effects. With my youngest son, I noticed some serious mood swings and just discussed this a couple of weeks ago with a close friend. I told her what I thought was causing his mood changes, stomach aches, and etc. I experienced some over the weekend because my son was given this medication by mother that had some at her house just in case one of them needed the medication for asthma or allergies. I hadn't discussed this with my parents because I was logging this in a notebook, and I was confirming some things before I told anybody else what I thought about Singulair. Guess what? It happened again because it was administered to my youngest son by my mother not knowing my concerns. I didn't tell her because they went over late that evening then coming back in the morning. I wished I would have told her. Although, she feels very badly because I did tell her about my concerns after she had told me she had given this Singulair to him. This was after I had told her he was a a major mood swing!!!! Outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My oldest son has experience major headaches, biting my husband and my head off over tiny things. (Thought it was the teenage thing.) I will not be giving my children SINGULAIR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi everyone!
Well. It's now been 6 1/2 weeks since I took my last Yasmin pill. My husband told me yesterday that I seem more like myself these days! I asked him to describe how I USED to act. He told me that I would go off on a tangent for no reason, get my feelings hurt over tiny things, have days where I'd hardly talk at all. He said he's glad his wife is back!
Guess what?? I mentioned the side effects of Yasmin we have all discussed here to my doctorS (ob/gyn/internal specialist/family md & ENT!)....they all said they've never heard of any of it! They offered me Paxil,Zoloft, referral to psychotherapists, endless tests and bloodwork. I mean, Holter monitor,EKG,Echocardiogram,3 blood tests, and tomorrow they want to do a CT scan on my head. I'm thinking I don't really want to expose my head to radiation over this.
I've not had anymore "attacks",no heart palpitations,my so-called IBS with diarrhea has miraculously disappeared! But they doctors don't believe it could be the Yasmin because it's "such a mild dose of hormones". Can you all believe this??
I'm so freaked out over what's happened to me these past few months that I don't know that I'll ever take BC pills again. I'm contemplating asking to have my tubes tied. Really!
I'm so glad I accidentally found this site. Now if I could just find something to explain the burning pain sensation down the side of my neck and in my inner left ear and the tingles in my left arm I'll be SOOO happy. Could these be side effects too after 6 1/2 weeks off Yasmin?
Take care all of you. I'll check back periodically to see how everyone is doing! :o)

i'm 17. I have extremely bad asthma. and i've had it all my life. i remember being 3 taking nebulizers. i don't know it had gotten better, worse or stayed the same over the years. but i started taking asthma preventers medications because it was really out control. i have horrible allergies all together (which really is all asthma is) but little, tiny things will set asthma attack off instantly, like a short breath from under my bed or even steam from the dishwasher o_O. so i needed to go on preventers. i went from prevention inhalers, pills then finally advair.(and no doubt it works the Best) i was still kinda a kid at the time so it was 100/50, im to young to remember any side effects. but 100/50 wasn't cutting it, so i went to 250/50 , im still on it today. its hard to notice rashes, sinus, mental etc, problems because i have soooo many other allergies. plus im taking medications from them to.
-- By bob2 | Reply | Private Message mei'd say im pretty healthy though, despite asthma i still play sports and i don't have to use my inhaler THAT much when i take advair it does work good, and i don't really notice all the symptoms/ side effects mentioned in the other comments, its a very good possibility some people are just allergic to advair, i was allergic to some meds i was on, plus, advair is a drug. Every drug Will have some kind of side effects unless its all natural. i question albuterol, i'll find myself reaching for puff when i don't even need it. O_O ! even with the new cfc free inhalers they have out.
