OMG. I guess I am lucky that this is the first site i found! I am 22 years old and i have had Mirena since may of 2007 since i delivered my youngest son. I stopped having a period (which is great) but i started having some symptoms that were completely out of the ordinary for me. I started what felt like panic attacks, it feels like tightness in my chest with pain high in my chest. I'm having heart palpitations very often, and sometimes when my heart palpitates (it feels like it stops for a second) i partially black out. i have been attributing it all to stress because i am a full time college student with 2 toddlers and a house to run but now after reading all of these comments i'm not too sure. I have a really hard time focusing, it's like my eyes slide out of focus and i just stare into the distance. I've been having sleep trouble as well... i'm always fatigued but i have a really hard time falling asleep. My mood swings have inreased tenfold. i get so angry at the littlest things and i just can't help myself. the last and most important side effect (at least in the eyes of my husband) is that i have absolutely no sexual appetite. I find myself dreading sleeping with him because i just don't feel like it anymore. I love him dearly and I really think it's not normal for an otherwise healthy 22 year old to have zero sexual interest.

started taking simvastatin 3 months ago after having a stroke straight away started feeling nausea and diarrhea was told at the time while still in hospital it was probably the tablets but nothing was done about it, since then i have been back to the docs twice, had 2 different types of anti sickness pills, none have worked, which is worse when awaking in the mornings, when i run gagging to the toilet, plus diarrhea tablets, which i am having to take at least 3 to 4 times a week, was told i could not stop taking the simvastatain tablets as i needed them, surly i am not supposed to live my life feeling constantly sick and the rest of the time sat on the toilet, plus panic attacks and depression of which i am also on medication for and my migraine attacks have gotten worse. and a awful taste in my mouth all the time all in all not a happy bunny

I too was given 20 days of 750 mg each of Levaquin and felt a pop in my shoulder while rolling over in bed and not have intense pain there which is probably my rotator cuff tear. But I also experience the most crippling intense pain to both my knees and lower back. My knees felt swollen and very painful to where I couldn't even get out of a chair, climb steps , sit on the toilet. I am a paramedic and am seriously considering leaving this job after over 25 years due to this pain. I have had some minor dizziness and some mood swings. I went to the doctor after being off Levaquin for 1 week and told her of my symptoms and she put me on a Prednisone pack which has helped me with my back and knee pain to the point where I can walk with little pain but it didn't help my shoulder pain with decrease strength in it. I don't know yet if this is a permanent cure for my knee pain or back pain. As far as my shoulder, I believe that I tore the rotator cuff and will need surg. I have also heard that prednisone is not good to take with levaquin. I was prescribed prednisone prior to taking levaquin and wonder if that started all the problems. AND OF COURSE MY DOCTOR DID NOT TELL ME OF THE SIDE EFFECTS WHEN EITHER OF THESES DRUGS WERE PRESCRIBED. But at this point, trying prednisone after completing the levaquin DEFINITELY helped my knee pain.

So I got my IUD in April 2008 It was great at first just a little cramping for a few days and that was all. However it all went down the toilet in July. My periods even though light last for 3 weeks! I live with a constant period. I can't even enjoy my life or my job. I'm nauseated 24/7 It started off on the occasion now I'm just sick all the time. I go to the doctors and all they keep wanting to do is pump me with anti-nausea medicine. I feel like I'm almost crazy. This past weekend was really bad. I can't get off my couch without feeling like Im going to die. I can't go shopping I can't do anything. Not to mention all the anxiety attacks brought on by extreme nausea by doing everyday things like driving a car, shopping, anything. I never had an anxiety attack and I'm a soldier! I just can't take it anymore It's got to go. I would never recommend this I've had the Depo shot and it was NEVER this bad. Pain and cramping, extreme nausea, bloating, Is not worth it. I hope getting this removed will solve these problems I've been having

I have been on Micardis for years and have had no side effects at all. Ran in two marathons and worked out daily. Now I have been on Lisinopril-HCTZ 20 MG. and have not been able to work out without feeling dizzy, seating and cannot remember the last time I got a good nights sleep due to persistent coughing. The best moment was today finding this website and reading everyone elses comments. I plan to flush my remaining pills down the toilet and paying full price for Micardis since my insurance company will not pay.
This has to be thek worst pill available! If I knew today what I knew when this pill was first prescribed I would have never taken it. Hopefully it will not take long to get this out of my system and I can get my life back.

I felt and acted like an invalid, being helped out of bed, up from a chair. Struggled with the toilet. Had very little energy. Was very surprised when Doctor advised to come off the drug and shocked when I read the side effects on the advice sheet as these could have just been written by me from experience. Started taking December 2007 and stopped, after the practice nurse referred me to the Doctor, 9th July. Already feeling 99% better.

My GP, (doctor) prescribed Niaspan Prolonged Release Nicotinic acid (Ph Eur) 8 days ago to lower bad cholesterol. It came in a starter pack 7x375mg - 7x500mg-7x750mg for three weeks to run consecutively, which I take in conjunction with Zimverstatin 40mg nightly. First 7 nights, no problem, last night started the second week dosage...and after taking the first 500mg tab, I got busy on my com for a while...as you do...then Bang! I began to burn up inside, sweat leapt out of me like a garden sprinkler, I went weak, nauseous, ran to the loo (Toilet) ran around the house in sheer panic as my heart raced so fast, it felt like one continuous beat, then I nearly collapsed. On passing the bathroom mirror I saw my palour had gone to a waxy-grey, then I instinctively took two 75mg aspirin, and in the end collapsed on the bed. I woke up about 20 minutes later and realized I was not in heaven as my room was still as untidy as it normally was...never mind. I am waiting for a call-bcak from my GP...there are things I need to know as I suffer with angina....thanks for reading this.

Two days ago, I needed to drink two doses of gastrographin one hour apart two hours before an abdominal CT. Not more than 20 minutes after drinking the first does with 12 oz. of cranberry juice I felt a burning sensation in my eyes and they started to water. I also felt disoriented for a moment or two, similar to what one might feel when they are driving tired and they have a hard time keeping their eyes open. By the time I had started drinking the second dose, I had diarrhea and visited the bathroom three times before setting off for my CT appointment.

Once reaching the medical facility, I used the restroom twice more within 40 minutes time before my scan. I feel like I am telling you way more than I would tell anyone else however it was remarkable to me to have to visit the toilet five times in less than three hours! I was made to drink a third dose just prior to my scan and given an IV dose of contrast. Throughout the remainder of the day I felt out of sorts: loss of appetite, lethargic, thirsty, and although less frequent visits to the toilet were necessary, I continued to have diarrhea.

The next morning I awoke with the most enormous headache. I have never had a hangover but what I felt was what I imagine a hangover would feel like . . . I felt crummy! I still had the diarrhea and I was drinking water like a mermaid out of water.

Today, two days later, I feel like I am back to normal. I attribute the crummy side effects I experienced to the gastrofrafin but not being knowledgeable about such things, I decided to research possible side effects on the web. So that's how I got here.

I started question the effect 2-500mg twice daily was having on me after a stomach ache the last two days. Not putting two and two together until now, but isn't that over prescribing? I'm taking 2000mg a day all together! Well, today my lower abdomen starting with a shooting pain, I felt like I had gas and had to go to restroom. The pain got worse as I sat on toilet, not able to do anything. I soaked in hot tub as long as I could and went to lay on bed, trying not to move, after while I fell asleep. After I woke the pain in still there a little bit , but bearable. I noticed my left ovary in swollen and tender.

I have been taking Levaquin for sinus infection after Augmentin didn't keep it from coming back. All I can say is that I am completely exhausted. I wonder if it is the drug or something else. No muscle pain. I don't know if I should stop taking it or continue. Tonight I was walking for exercise and couldn't finish because I thought I might faint. My heart was beating and I was shaking. Do you think it is the drug? HELP!

I was prescribed 500 mg, twice a day for 5 days for a UTI. Immediate side effects were insomnia, restlessness and feeling sick to my stomach when taken without food - but I didn't really think twice about it. Approx 2 days after my first dose I woke up, was making coffee and got a sharp, VERY painful feeling in my abdomen. Ran into the bathroom and was shocked to see blood in the toilet, along with what appeared to be mucous. The pain went away and I just didn't feel "good" the rest of the day. Went to the bathroom twice with nothing until it happened once again. I went from thinking I had hemorrhoids, cysts, diverticulitis, etc. and almost went to the emergency room until we read the insert that came with my prescription. All of these were clearly listed in it. I stopped taking immediately and it has not happened since. I feel back to normal.

I am a healthy and active 26 year old who couldn't believe this happened. I am now taking Florastore (a probiotic you can buy behind the counter at any pharmacy) and eating Activia yogurt. Wish I had seen this message board before I began taking Cipro.

I have a three year old son who has severe allergies. He's been taking singulair for 2 years on & off just in the allergy season. He started taking, singulair again in the beginning of April. One morning he woke up and both eyes were really swollen and red, I called his doctor's office and told them i thought he had pink eye, after 2 different drops and no change I brought him into the doctor's to see if it could be his allergies, and they agreed and started him on Zyrtec. I still was not impressed with the results so i brought him back yet again to see if we could see a specialist. Instead they put him on nasonex to try.
In the beginning of March I started to see a change in my usual happy fun loving son. He was scared to sleep in his bed, waking up in the middle of the night from bad dreams, uncontrollable screaming fits that would last up to an hour, saying he wants a Boo Boo. At first we thought it could be jealously over his new brother, or maybe something at his school.
Then i found this website and everything clicked, how scary it must be for a child to have these horrible thoughts and not be able to understand or stop them. What are the people at merck thinking??
Can any one tell me when the symptoms stop. He's been off for a week and we see some improvements. But he still has these fits with almost an OCD tendency to them (mainly when he's overtired), stomach pains, lack of appetite.

Have been on 20MG Simvastatin for about a month. During this period have experienced severe burning/itching on both legs between ankles and calfs, resulting in an ugly rash. After reading several responses, I believe that I will 'put the medication' away. (Like down the toilet). Thanks for all who contribute!

Hello all, the first bc pill i took was fencom fe. I don't recommend this to anyone seeing as it put me into such horrible depression. So my doctor switched me to Loestrin fe. My period cycle has been amazing. m on my 4th month and i get my periods for only 2 and a half days and always during the brown pills. My issue now however is that i have been experiencing something like a kidney infection for about 2 months now. I had a test done and they said it was a SLIGHT infection but recently during my 4 reminder pills i noticed it got better! I started a new pack this week and its getting bad again(waking up in the middle of the night to use the toilet, if i have to go then i have to go THEN, constantly having to go). Is anybody else experiencing this? I can't figure it out. The only other horrible side effect im having is hunger! Im never full. Thanks so much!!

I took Leva-kill last November, 500mg for 10days due to a resistant ear infection. On the 3rd day, my back felt like it was on fire. Went to ER, did one blood test for muscle deterioration, came back fine.Told to keep taking. I thought I was going to die. I felt and still feel like I was poisoned. Seems to be permanent. Some days worse than others. Check out FQVICTIMS.ORG.Any doctors and dentist I have seen says not Levaquin {about ten]. One ENT said "I bet" when told levaquin made me feel like dying, but that was it. Has anyone heard of any hope? Is this really permanent?

I was given a 10 day dose of LEVAQUIN for a mild bronchitis/respiratory ailment on Jan. 29, 2008. I took 1 500mg pill for the full ten days. Three days after I stopped taking this medication, I experienced incredibly painful swelling in both knees. I could barely walk, and couldn't bend my knees. I was scared, upset, and in absolute misery. I spent a week literally throwing myself backwards onto chairs. It was unbelievable. When I could finally get to my normal health care provider 5 days later, she immediately identified the culprit as the Levaquin I had taken. She said she knew it to cause people's tendons to burst. It was obvious since it was both knees that it was not an injury and I never had any other problem with my legs. I am, or shall I say I was an avid walker. I was told to see an orthopedic doctor if I had not improved in one week. I had not improved in a week. The orthopedic doctor sent me for an MRI which showed irreversible, permanent cartilage damage in my left knee. The right knee he didn't MRI at the time, saying he could determine what he needed to know from the one knee and would only be able to do corrective surgery on my knees in 6 week intervals. This horrible drug has permanently altered my way of life. I was a 53 year old active, ambulatory adult who would walk miles a day. Two months later, I still have constant knee pain, cannot stand for long periods of time without leaning on something and can no longer kneel, etc. I can only walk around a bit and if I'm on my feet for long periods of time I experience knee, ankle pain and swelling. I sent a report to the FDA who obviously cares nothing about this situation, since I'm not the only unsuspecting person to have this happen. I've been studying this drug now and there was evidence in animal clinical trials of joint and tendon damage, To me it would have been no different an experience if someone had come up and hit me with a baseball bat across both knees. I am permanently damaged from Levaquin. I think it's criminal this drug is given to younger ambulatory adults at all.

I have been taking Norvasc for about 40 days. I have absolutely no strength anymore, I am dizzy, and I can see my heart beating when I look at something with solid color, it is like my eyes are flashing as my heart beats. My legs are hard to move when I first get up, and it is hard to get up off my knees unless there is something near by to hold on to. I was having trouble going down stairs until thursday of last week when I could go down them fairly fast. This made me feel like I was getting better, then the very next day I was taking a shower at home after working a full day and I almost collapsed. I barely made it out of the shower to sit on the toilet. My legs were like the legs of a parapalegic for about 1 minute.

I have a freind who had a bladder nfection, not the first of course. She is 80 years young, very active etc. I told her about my problems with Levaquin and told her NOT to take the Cipro they gave her, because every time she does she has "trouble with her knees and back" mysteriously!!!! Well, she took it anyway and ended up in the hospital with heart paplitations ,irregular heartbeat etc. Guess what they put her on to stop any further infection, you guessed it, Levaquin!!! Shes been home from the hospital now and in the house for over two weeks, has trouble walking now!!When will it end? Marsh

I not sure that what I am experiencing is related to my 9 month course of 750 mg Levaquin, or my simultaneous 9 month course of 300 mg Rifampin, or my 6 week course of IV Vancomyocin twice a day........You all are talking about days and weeks....I have been on these hardcore meds for substantially longer. I became infected with Staph Epidermidis in the disc space of L 4-5 during surgery to correct degeneration in my spine. I am now left with joint pain from head to toe, Uveitis, a scaly rash all over my trunk and arms, stomach pain, further degeneration in my spine, insomnia, severe fatigue, depression, and what I call "brain fog." I have been told by the team of Doctors caring for me that the only symptom that relates to my medication is possibly the Uveitis. I would like to know how you all are attributing the medications to your ailments? (insomnia, depression, fatigue, joint pain... for example) Are you sure that they are not symptomatic of another disease process? After stopping the medications has your health become normal? I have to remain on this medication for the remainder of the year. I do not have the option of just flushing it down the toilet, as someone previously posted. There are only a few medication that can combat my illness, but I would like to know that they are not harming me in the long run.

After being given Levaquin last year, I developed severe insomnia. After the 2nd day of no sleep, I flushed the rest of the pills down the toilet. I was unable to sleep until I finally got some sleeping pills from my doctor at week later. The insomnia lasted almost a month. It was unlike anything I have experienced before. Regardless of how exhausted I was, I felt like I could not fall into sleep, I would just float on the surface but could not go under. I was afraid I was going crazy from sleep deprivation and that I would never sleep again. It was a true nightmare. Fortunately, the insomnia did finally go away but I have placed a note in my medical files to never prescribe Levaquin to me again.

Mirena Round 2: On Feb, 21, 2008, one week ago, I had my 5 year old Mirena removed and a new one inserted. I was 6 weeks post-partum when I had the first Mirena inserted. I have no recollection of any adverse side-effects and my body was still recalibrating after the birth of my 2nd child, a daughter. I am 1 week into my new device and feel very weird. I started crying last night for no reason at all and have felt horribly bloated since day 2. My belly literally feels like a pregnant bloated belly. The cramping has been on and off everyday since insertion. And now that I think about it, I had a headache a few days afterward for a very long time.
Looking back over the last 5 years, however, I have battled acne, which I just attributed to "hormonal outbreaks". It never occurred to me that it could possibly have been a side effect to my Mirena. My poor husband has been so sweet and understanding, but today we had the talk. How long would we allow before having it removed? $500+ down the toilet. What a shame. Who knew that merely replacing the device I had already spent 5 years with prior would/could bring on a whole new set of side-effects?

I was prescribed this drug on a Wednesday for a sinus infection. By Saturday I could not stand up, was disoriented, dizzy, fatigued, and in general felt like crap. I did not take one on Sunday. I went back to the Doctor on Monday who told me I had fluid on my ear and that was why I was having those symptoms and it was not the medication. He gave me another round which I took around 3:00 p.m. on Monday. By 10:00 p.m. I had the dry heaves, could not stand up, was extremely dizzy, nauseated, fatigued again. I did not sleep any on Monday night. Tuesday morning I flushed remaining drug down the toilet. I has taken me 4 weeks to get to feeling some better. But, for the past several days, I have been having a crushing pain in my chest and upper body. I'm convinced it was from the Avelox. Something needs to be done to get this stuff off the market. I will never take this stuff again.
