the samples from the doctor worked great! started a new bottle of another 3 months supply, and BS went to 400! a week ago, started to get hives every 3-4 days.now, every day at night, 12 hrs. after taking Januvia, hives break out on back. waist, buttocks, arms.was in ER yesterday, they said rash from Januvia unlikely, because they HAVEN'T SEEN IT BEFORE. After insulin injections, BS only got down to 295. Afraid to eat, 9 hrs. later had a tomato and cucumber sandwich, and BS went back up to 360. My doctor added Metformin to Januvia, and I am now once again with horrible diarrhea, after only one dose of 500mg Met. BS is still sky high, and the ER didn't seem too concerned. Anyone ever hear of hives from Januvia? HELP!!

My baby (1 yr) was just prescribed Singulair from a CHOP doctor. I am so thankful that I found this website. I certainly will not fill the prescription. I was hesitant at first anyway because he only had one fluke "asthmatic" insident that sent him to the ER (but has many food allergies and dog allergy). Anyone have any advice on where I should go from here? Honestly, I am afraid to go back to that doctor and they told me it would be very difficult to switch doctors at CHOP. Everyone knows CHOP is one of the best. It is so hard to get honest advice. Every doctor thinks you will sue. Or they're out to use you for their research. He thinks this was the beginning of asthma and it will get worse. It was a scary episode...first time I ever called 911 for one of my children. Breathing is obviously very important, but he never has any problems breathing otherwise (running, laughing, playing) Just got a cold that turned bad quickly. Should I prevent with meds.? My thought is to just keep the neb. and Albuterol handy. I hate giving daily meds. to a developing baby. My gut says to let God develops his immune system naturally. (Not against periodic meds. - So thankful for Benadryl!) Please help! Mommy of 4

My husband has been on it for his backache due to his kidneys being irritated. Since he has been taking it for four days and I already am very worried. His face looks like a tomato, and he looks like he has some water retention. His face looks like it is swollen and enlarged. He has continued headaches, bathroom runs at night that keep us both up.

Well, I took it twice for my severe eczema. The second time the dose was 60mg for two days 50 for two days and all the way down to 5 then none. eczema went away, but as soon as I stopped taking it...I started itching again and my rash came back. The only thing I really noticed was my appitite increased, and I was a little bloated. But nothing major, and I'd rather gain a few pounds then be a swollen tomato! I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow to see my options to be on it more long term. I'll come back and update.

Hi guys. I am so glad I found this site. I am 29 and I have been on Yasmin for four years. In the last few months I have toned up and shed a few pounds and all of a sudden last week I got home and felt a tightening in my legs that I had never felt before. Then a tingling in my left arm and I had trouble swallowing and breathing. I am a very healthy person so I freaked out and went to the ER for the first time in my life. After the blood work, EKG, MRI and stress test they told me I was normal, except for low potassium levels and mentioned that I should go to a neurologist. I also thought I must be allergic to something but all the foods I had been eating were the same as before. Well it happened again tonight so I went online because there was no way I was going to spend more money in the ER to have them tell me it was nothing. After reading all the comments on this page I realized it is amazing how many other symptoms that I didn't realize also correlated to the pill. My hair has been falling out at the root like never before and I just recently developed troubles with eating tomato based foods. I haven't been sleeping good lately either and I started crying uncontrollably for no reason. Well I am throwing away my Yasmin and I can't believe that the doctors in the ER aren't mentioning the side effects of this birth control.
