I'm a 34 African American female.I had the mirena put in 08/06.Four months ago I had it removed after two years of hell.I was so mean and angry at everyone and thing, then my husband was afraid to have sex with me because the string would stick him and he would yell. Also no periods is not healthy in my book.the headaches everyday,The dryness during sex was the worst. Now that the evil thing is out of me i'm so much more happier and i'm not as paranoid and jealous. After it was removed it felt like a ton of bricks was taken out of my body it was really killing me and i thank GOD i made it.My body.mind keep telling me too take it out but i thought the side effect would pass they never do they only get worse,Also when they removed the Mirena it was all bloody as if i had been bleeding for two years stright.I am now still waiting on my cycle. Then i will feel better.I hate the Mirena,it ruin my marriage and now i am trying too repair all the crazy mood swing my family has put up with.

I was prescribed 750 mg Levaquin for 7 days for a bacterial skin infection that I got under my breasts from inverse psoriasis. I took one pill and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was up all night long with feelings of dread and like I was on a bad acid trip. The next day, I was so exhausted, I could barely even lift my head off the pillow and literally slept all day. The day after that I was going through withdrawal-like symptoms and my husband finally took me to the ER. The nurse practitioner there told me she NEVER prescribes Levaquin because she sees so many patients coming into the ER who are experiencing horrible side effects. I quit taking it obviously but am still feeling shaky and weak. Also, today, both of my feet started feeling like they were asleep with the pins and needles feeling. Also, I have TMJ and my jaw is aching as well. All of this for a little skin infection that the doctor didn't even examine. He just got the results of the cultures back but didn't actually see the infection to determine if it actually needed something so strong. I am taking Keflex now which isn't near as bad and is helping just fine. The difference is the cost. I'm sure the doc got a huge kickback for prescribing the higher-cost Levaquin. I will not be seeing him again. All doctors are interested in is prescribing drugs. They don't ever try a natural means of healing which I do not understand. I am so frustrated...I hope this crap gets out of my system soon!!!

I have taken lisinopril for more than 4 years and 2 days ago my tongue started swelling. It was about 9:00 p.m. and we were getting ready to go to bed when I realized it was getting worse. My tongue filled my mouth and protruded out and I couldn't swallow and could only speak with garbled words. My husband took me to the emergency room where they very quickly diagnosed it as an allergic reaction to lisinopril. I ended up in intensive care for the night. This was a very frightening experience, as well as terribly uncomfortable (and expensive). I spoke to my pharmacist today and he takes lisinopril. I told him to do some research and check out alternatives. I'd be interested to know the percentage of people who have similar, severe reactions to this drug.

Okay , so I poste on 10/25 some of my symptoms. I started off well but did not maintain that way. It hit me on Friday like a ton of bricks. Nausea, Mood swings, Hot Flashes, Stomach Pain. Insomnia, Dizziness, and back pain. I decided on Monday to discontinue the medication and call the doctor. She absolutely said to STOP it. I have been off for 2 days and I noticed within 24 hours I was able to walk around and complete some of my daily tasks. Still having Nausea, but most all I feel like my stomach right under my rib cage at the top is Bloated!! The palpitations were too nerve wrecking. I am wondering if I really messed myself up. Still have back pain but to add insult to injury. I am now Bleeding SO HEAVY, that it is really concerning me. I would never recommend the meds to anyone, I know everyone is different but , I truly felt that Death was warming over. I am usually the one who doesn't suffer from side effects of MEDS. Go Figure!! This forum is great and I was really surprised that people were actually having the same symptoms and posting them for others to read and relate to. I never thought I would find a forum about the meds that "I " was taking. Glad I stumbled upon this. Just be very cautious of your symptoms, only you know yourself and how you feel. Hope this post helps.

Took the perscription (500 mg, 2X daily) for three days before I started having bad side effects, then it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I quit immediately. My digestion has been real messed up, my stomach and intestines have felt as though they had a meat grinder turned on inside. My head has felt as though the top of it was going to come off. I've been off the pills for 3 days now and my head is beginning to feel better. My major complaint now is that my legs ache. My thighs mostly, but also my calves some. I had no idea I would get so sick from an antibiotic.

I don't know if seeing all these posts help me or scare the crap outta me even more (none the less very helpful), I have no insurance and really want to get my IUD removed. I had it inserted when my daughter was 8 weeks old that was about 11 months ago. I have had nothing but problems, severe cramping, nausea, periods that last a whole month, one month it will be icky brownish discharge with a lil blood here and there, I will stop for about 2 weeks and get it again this time lasting about 3 weeks then i will go about 6 weeks and have it again this time with severe cramping and bleeding for a whole month straight. then i may not have it again for 6 weeks etc... I have really nasty blood clots that look very fleshy. I also have had very thick yellowish stinky discharge everyday i don't have my period ( I have NEVER smelt this bad) I feel like im losing my mind Im so absent minded i forget the simplest things, my arms and legs go numb and tingly, my hair is falling out in clumps, im extremely moody and very impatient. and the tiredness is really starting to bother me, no matter how much i try to stay awake its almost impossible, i literally need to take a nap every 3 hours it seems like just to function...I feel like im falling apart. Has anyone else had a lot of these symptoms? And what should I do about getting it taken out....I don't qualify for Medicaid so I was wondering if i should just go into the hospital the next time the pain gets bad and see if they will remove it any advice will be helpful! And good luck to anyone else going through problems with this IUD.

I must say that I HATE this medicine. I have been on it for about 30 years. Constantly like playing a game. Too much then too little. It is driving me crazy. I swear that I have tremors from it. I also have gain lots of weight and my hair falls out everyday. Surprised I am not bald yet. I use to be able to go to the gym for 5-6 days a week and now it is soooo hard to get out of bed in the morning.

I truly wish that there was something that I could do. I have had one side of my thyroid taken out and now have to go and get a ultra sound of the other side. Still cant figure out why the doctor took one side and not the other when the other side had nodules too.

I am so tired of it and just don't know what to do.

I do know that I will be definitely speaking with my endo and even if my levels are okay she has to do something to help me.

I went onto Topamax last year and almost died. Following the graduated increase schedule, every time my body came close to acclimating to the drug, the new dose would hit it like a ton of bricks. By the time I had reached the target dose, I was scarcely able to think, had difficulty getting out of my chair, and couldn't focus my eyes.
The schedules do not work for everybody. I was an idiot. My (former) doctor was too difficult to communicate with.

When I finally got it right, it was a tiny dose. Beats the daylights out of Depakote.

i was on lisinopril for a year and a half when it hit me like a ton of bricks.... i was twenty three years old and in super health, other than the moderatly high bp. i became very tired and dizzy like someone flipped a switch. At first i thought i was just coming down with a bad cold but after a week i knew it most have been somthing more. I was tired all the time, had problems with my sinuses, headaches, nausea, heart palpatations, dizzy, felt like i was going to faint all the time. I couldn't get to sleep at night and if i did i didn't want to get up in the morning. Even after 10 hrs of sleep i felt like i had just played two football games. I am one of the most optomistic people you will ever meet and i felt like i was going to die... I had no idea what was going on with me. I saw many doctors and they all told me that it was in my head. I felt this way for over a year when i suggested to my Dr that maybe it was the lisinopril. She really didn't think so but we stopped taking it and started a beta blocker. i have been off the lisinopril for 4 months and feel a ton better but still have a long way to go. Could anyone tell me how long this will last and what i could do to speed up my recovery... thanks CP

First dose seemed to go okay...........for the first few hours. Then I was at work and the nausia hit me like a ton of bricks. Worst part of it all I couldnt quit crying. Needless to say I was sent home. I would rather put up with Burning when I pee to this.......FDA sux. I told the Dr. I didn't want to try a "New Drug" Why don't they ever listen.......???? Cipro always worked great with no side effect. Luckly for me at the time I could only afford to buy 3 pills.

BTW The only people who are getting the nasty new bacteria are people who live on atibiotics, not the ones who quit taking them..
Its the ones who make there bodies resistant, where their antiboties won't build on there own without help. Like a drug addict...always needs more.....newer, better. So parents.....before you take your babies to the Dr. for a cold and get antibiotics for them...your not helping anyone you are making your children MORE sick then better......
