I hated the thought of putting a hormone in my body but my husband and I really do not want more children (right now). I was having HEAVY periods and thought the mirena would be helpful.
Honestly it was helpful for the periods, but I was having more herpes breakouts and in areas I have never had, (I have had herpes for 21 years yuck), i was willing to deal with the mirena until I found this link and related my heart palpitations (sometime 8 in an hour) to the mirena. I started the heart palpitations about 3 months after it was put in. I have called to schedule to take the IUD out. I will post my outcome. Thank you ladies for all the posts. We may be saving lives from torment here.
Be Well.

I am a mental health professional. I was on Singulair for 6 years. After hearing of the psychiatric side effects, I stopped it. The suicidal ideations have stopped, the depression and anxiety are decreasing. This information should have been made public long before now. And to think that I had actually calculated whether I had enough drugs on hand to accomplish suicide. I hold Merck responsible for putting myself and others through this torment.

The flushing is tolreable. The itching is intolerable. I'd rather have heart surgery than suffer with that infernal itching. My cardiologist believes the severe itching is unrelated to the Niaspan because the reaction has only occured twice since I started taking the medication 6 months ago. I disagree. It seems to me the itching is caused by the Niaspan, together with some other unknown factor. There may be something to the "spicy food" suggestion posted by others. Last night, I ate a bunch of hot peppers an hour or so before taking the Niaspan. I woke at 3 am, with a mild hot flash, followed by the dreaded itching. Pure torment! My chest, back and legs were bright red. A cold shower helped a little. On the first occasion, two months ago, Benedril help some, but relief did not begin for over an hour after taking it. (Take at least two tablets!) But last night, I didn't mess around with Benedril. Instead, I took two codine tablets I had left over from surgery. Relief! If you are suffering from this terrible side-effect, may God be with you!

ITCHING!! Holy cow!! I am weaning myself off seroquel, and as soon as I dropped 25mg, I broke out in a 24hr full-body itch!

I'm weaning myself off it because the cardiac side effects were awful!! Racing heart, high blood pressures, shortness of breath... I gave it a good two months, and the cardiac effects got worse instead of better. Now the itching... unbearable!!

I hate this medication. I have been taking it for two months now and it has been torment. I do not recommend it at ALL. I don't even want my boyfriend to look at me, much less touch me. I have severe vaginal dryness since using Loestrin 24. I'm miserable. All I can say is I am very glad that I have a OBGYN appointment later this month so I can come off of it ASAP.

I am a 52 yr old female. Just finished my 6 day supply of 20mg prednisone. I have shoulder impingement in both shoulders. Prednisone is a NIGHTMARE MEDICATION! I had several of the side effects mentioned. It lessened the pain in my shoulders, but the side effects were far worse. I had difficulty sleeping (bad dreams), anxiety, depression, severe hot flashes, sensitivity to light, heart beating rapidly. I felt like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I didn't recognize myself in the mirror. There was this old wretched looking person looking back at me. Now after the medication is gone the pain is back.Whoopdedo. 6 days of misery and torment for that! Never again!

Aside from the constipation and and the constant sweating, the worst part about vicodin is the withdrawals. It is the worst drug I have ever been addicted to. I thank God that I have to power to deal with the pains and constant hell the withdrwals caused me,and with a STRONG mind you can beat the physical hell that will torment you for weeks
