I am 34, female, and started taking Singulair since three week ago due to allergies. Since last weekend I have been feeling terrible, with dizziness, nausea, and fatigue. I thought that maybe my sinus infection was not totally gone, but today my husband told me that maybe some of the medication I am taking is making me have those symptoms. He started doing some research online and found lots of information about Singulair side effects.

Now I can see that many people have been having different side effects.
I wish Doctors would be a little bit more informative about side effects symptoms. I won't take any more singulair and hopefully I will start feeling GOOD AGAIN! :o). I wish we wouldn't have to be trying SO MANY TYPES OF DRUGS!

Discontinuing Lisinopril (UPDATE from 06/13/07 post):

It's been about two weeks since I discontinued Lisinopril and there is light at the end of the tunnel! I'm no longer walking around "in a fog", though I still have some problems at times in recalling events, names, etc. The 'medicine mouth'/dry mouth has almost gone away and I can now eat normally. The cough and mucus are totally gone as well as is the major portion of my headaches. Instead of my BP jumping around when I take multiple readings (2-5 mins apart) there is a steady drop in my BP down to 114/80 (taken at work, usually after exertion). I am sleeping much, much better and the fatigue has vastly improved. I am actually looking forward to home projects and working a new part-time job. (When I was on taking Lisinopril, I had an interview that I did very poorly at one interview... I was in a total 'fog' and had problems organizing my thoughts and answering questions in a professional manner). I can once again laugh at life and not merely go through it like a machine.

The bottom line is this... in my case, THERE IS improvement. It may not be evident every day, but comparing it to a few days back, I see more of my old self. If you have gone off the med, BE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BP AT LEAST EVERY DAY (if not more) and hang in there. Everyone's body is different and it may take a little longer to get it out of your system. Just remember, you are supposed to be feeling BETTER... if you experience signs of a heart attack, stroke, etc., it not the time to 'tough it out'... seek medical help IMMEDIATELY.

Interesting side note... I went in to the MD's office and told three employees including an RN) that I was experiencing significant side effects. All three of them said exactly the same thing, "So, what are you telling me; you want an appointment?" The RN reluctantly said that she would talk to the MD. About six hours later, she called home and left a message to tell me to discontinue the med, monitor my BP, and call back in a week if I wasn't any better.(I'm glad I didn't have to pay for that advice... since I was already doing it!)

Please post how you are doing after getting off the med... it is a big encouragement to everyone.

Good Luck!

500 mg of levaquin here, taken it for 5 days now, so dizzy I can't sit here in my chair at work, yeast infection like you wouldn't believe, but my infection that I am taking this for is totally gone, my WBC was almost 20 when I started now it's down to 14.

I wouldn't dissuade someone from taking it, but be very aware of its effects.

My wife began using Lantus approximately 2 weeks ago
(11/21/05). Very early on Thanksgiving Morning, she
awoke with her heart skipping beats. She had not experienced this before the Lantus injections. We wound up
at the ER at the local hospital on Thanksgiving morning in
Cranford, New Jersey. The Chief of the ER was on duty and
after hours of blood tests and being hooked up to an EKG,
he told my wife to immediately discontinue the Lantus
injections and return to Novilin 70/30. However today is
12/05/05 and her pulse is still erratic at times.
Has anyone experienced problems with their heart rate
while using this medication? Please let me know.
Thank you!!!

I have been on Topamax for a few months now. I can't remember exactly how long because, to be quite honest, I have the memory of a gnat since starting this medication. My neurologist prescribed this medication for me after I was finally put on medication for grand mals seizures. I had been having them sporadically since 1999. I also suffer from migraines and he said it would help with that, my weight and my depression. It sounded like a wonder drug until my dosage kept increasing up to the 300 mgs. he needed me to reach.

I became a lethargic, depressed and very detached, angry lump to describe myself best. I have had a difficult time doing housework and everyday activities like playing with my children. My depression was first improving but it took a turn for the worse and I have found myself feeling suicidal at times. I have suffered breast pain so severe I had to have a breast ultrasound done. Nobody ever told me that breast pain could be a side effect in women. My menstrual cycle has also been unpredictable as well since starting this medicine. I called my neurologist's office in inquire about this and they were unaware about this side effect.

My mental clarity is totally gone. My memory is so bad I have missed doctor's appointments for myself and my children. I have to write things down everywhere and have my kids remind me of things instead of the other way around. I find myself trying to form a sentence at times and it comes out like gibberish.

I stay on the medicine because my five kids were witnesses to my last seizure and it scared my oldest three so much they remember it as if it were yesterday. I made them a promise it would never happen again. The last medicine I tried left me with bruises all over my body and unable to get out of bed. If left with having to choose between the two medicines I have to pick Topamax. I can't be a guinea pig anymore. My kids need me to keep my promise and I have vowed to do so. If you could see what I deal with every night when I put my daughter to bed you would understand. She says she is afraid to leave me to go to asleep because she is afraid I will have another seizure. Being on this medicine is the reassurance I offer her to prove that everything will be okay.

I spent years on SSRI's trying to fight anxiety and depression and I suffered horrible side effects so I am at the point that I am willing to settle. Currently my dosage has been cut down to 250 mg. and my rage is pretty much gone. I am still depressed and somewhat lethargic. The good news is that I did lose 30 lbs. since starting Topamax. Unfortunately, Topamax doesn't do much for me in the way of migraine relief. Since my seizures are sporadic I honestly don't know if it is even controlling those either. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

My heart goes out to all of you taking this medication. I know how you feel right now. If you are lucky enough to get off of it and are able to find something else less stressful on your body then that is great. If you are in my situation and you feel as if this is as good as it gets, well, at least you know you are not alone. I know now that there are alot of us out there. I am not sure how much consolation that really is but it is something I suppose.

Hi everyone!
Well, I wrote in at the end of May talking about my horrible gas. I've now been off of Yasmin since May 27th, and my gas has totally gone away. Better yet, I started NUVARING! Yall have got to try this! It's awesome. NO SIDE EFFECTS AT ALL yet. It has 1/4 the hormones of the pill, and in case anyone is wondering... neither you nor your partner will feel it during sex. I just wanted to let yall know this incase anyone else is/was looking for an alternative to Yasmin, which I think most of us are. So, if anyone else tries "the ring" and likes it, please let me know because I am quite pleasantly surprised. Anyway, I had also had severe mood changes and they too have gone away. I think I may have finally found a miracle birth control method.
GO NUVARING!

I have been very ill for almost three months now. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out at work - the same time everyday. Chest pain - under my left boob (around my heart area). Went to doctor's just before Xmas, he took my blood pressure and rushed me up to the hospital. Had ECG, Chest X-ray, Blood tests, but all of them came back okay?! Have since has an ultrasound, and am booked in for a 48 hour heart monitor in a few weeks. Off my own back, I stopped taking the pill when they couldn't find anything wrong, and I read the side effects, and this was on the 26th december. The feeling faint has almost totally gone (apart from when I start to panic about feeling faint), but I still have this 'stitch/hunger pain' feeling around my heart area everyday. You feel like it's gone, and then the pain happens. I am scared that it's something serious ( have little faith in doctors anyway). I have had two periods since coming off of it, and yes, they may be heavier, but rather that then feeling like you are going to die. I am not exaggerating. At one point over xmas, I told my boyfriend to call an ambulance because of the hot, numbness in my legs. The second yasmin free period I had, was a week or so ago, and I did feel a bit faint during. When I last saw my doctor, I explained what I had done, and he wouldn't commit himself, he just said that it could be Yasmin. I'm getting married in November, but until I know that I haven't got something seriously wrong, it's hard getting excited. If I have permanent damage from this pill, surely I can sue?

I have been on zoloft 50mg per day for about 1 1/2 months for depression. I have experienced weight loss/decreased appetite and vivid dreams. Luckly, I haven't had any negative side effects. The weight loss is fine for me and the vivid dreams aren't bad. My depression is totally gone and I feel great. I also noticed I am much more outgoing, making new friends, and trying things I never would have. I then realized that I had been suffering from social anxiety disorder and since being on zoloft it is almost completely gone. I feel amazing and am so happy. For those of you that find that you are experiencing negative side effects it may just not be the drug for you. For some people, like me, it can do wonders.

This is my fourth day on Celexa now. First day I felt very tired (yawning all the time), kind of spacey/slow, jaw hurt, nauseous yet strangely hungry, headache, lathargic and had a cramp in my leg that night. Day two I felt great except for another leg cramp that night and sleeping longer than normal. Day 3 I felt very tired, nauseated which calmed down a bit once I ate something and again very tired and slept longer than normal. Day four, so far I feel great with no side effects other than sleeping longer than normal, I feel alert and the spaceyness/lethargy is totally gone now along with the nausea which are the symptoms that bothered me the most. My depression has lifted substantially.

My mother was on Lipitor and had kidney failure after flu like symptoms. I am positive it is from Lipitor. The doctors tried to say kidney was from high blood pressure, my mother had low pressure. When I said I thought it was from Lipitor they all denied it could cause kidney those statements till I had them read the PDR (physician's desk reference). Being as one had a Lipitor Billboard on his collar, talking to him was like talking to a rock (although the rock would be smarter). I found out her personal doctor brought her cholesteral to 110 and her kidney doctor said everthing is fine although your kidneys are small. This was one month prior to total kidney failure.

My mother's memory is totally gone. It has progressively gotten worse. Aparently cholesteral has an important function in the brain that hasn't been looked at by the medical profession. Today, my mother will ask the same question 5 times in a row in the span of 20 minutes. She forgets anything she is told almost immediately.

Lipitor is killing people, it is a profit thing for Pfizer. When lawsuits exceed profit, it will be pulled, just like Baycol.

I have noticed a few side effects after 18 months of taking he pill:

NEGATIVE: constant depression, tiredness, irregular bleedings, vaginal dryness, no sexual desire at all, constant headache, hair loss, sensitive skin (feeling very uncomfortable/ tickly when someone touch my skin)

I must however point out the POSITIVE side effects that made me conitnue using the pill (hoping the others would go away!): clear skin, no acne, bad facial and hairline psoriasis totally gone, loss of appetite (weight loss)

Reading this page has made me realise that the negative side effects aren't going to go away, and so I am quitting this pill - and all others for that matter. I am 36, have never taken any other BCP's in my life and so I know my body reactions very well. It is not worth jeopardizing a happy family life with husband and 2 kids - all because of the above negative side effects. There are other natural remedies that regulate hormonal imbalances that can sort my skin out - and my husband has agreed to have a vasectomy...

I have absolutely NO side effects and in addition, I have never felt better in my life!!! I have fibromyalgia and I have taken every known pain medication known to man and nothing has worked for my pain. After taking this drug for just 3 days all of my pain is totally gone and I have more energy than I have had in many years. I hope I can take this for the rest of my life. My husband says he has not seen me do this much in the last 15 years. I don't know what is happening to the rest of you.

Itching scalp and ears appear to be related to taking Allegra. It began last summer (2002) after starting Allegra for hayfever and allergies, but I didn't make the connection. Didn't take Allegra from approximately November, 2002 until April, 2003, and in hindsight, itch almost totally gone. Started on Allegra again in April 2003 when seasonal allergic symptoms began again. Scalp itch flared up immediately, and I made the connection to Allegra. Has anyone else experienced or reported this side effect?
