MIRENA is the worst thing EVER!!!!!!
I got Mirena as my husband and I were lacking in the sexual side of our relationship because we both HATE using condoms.I have a 31/2 year old son and we have decided that for now we are happy and would like if we didn't have anymore children right now so I talked to my doctor about Mirena.
Let me start by saying that my labor 6 hours with NO pain meds was nothing compared to the pain I had when they put it in. Then the bleeding started right away I was bleeding for 8 weeks then had 1 week free and now have been bleeding for about 8 weeks. I had 2 ultrasounds to make sure it was in proper and everything was "fine" my doctor says everyone's body reacts different.
The symptoms I have are Occasional Cramping,
Sever bleeding,
headaches,
irritation in my legs (same symptoms as RLS),
Depression,
no sex drive,
back pain
Weight Gain (17lbs in 2 weeks)
and the weirdest symptom is hard to explain but its the same feeling in my body as if you were to touch a 9volt battery to your tongue! Every now and then I have little shocks and its so annoying. I have had mine in for 17 weeks and I have an appointment in 8 days to have it removed...Back to condoms it is

I have been taking lisinopril for about 15 years and had no problems..until yesterday! I had to go to the ER room. My face blew up like a balloon and had a rash all over my body My lips swelled so much that they were beginning to crack and bleed. I was told it was the lisinopril by the doctor in the ER. They put me on a steroid and benadryl thru intervenience. I had to wait a few hours to make sure my tongue wasn't going to swell. I was told in the ER that you could take this medication for fifty years and then one day this could happen.
The doctor dais it was a good thing I came to the ER room. My tongue could have swelled and then I would have had a severe case of not being able to breath.I was told to go home and throw them in the garbabe. He called my doctor and called in a new script. I haven't picked it up yet
Just wanted to warn any one if you get any swelling and a rash go to the ER asap.

I have just bought a pack of Yasmin for birth control and heavy periods but haven't taken any yet, nor have i ever tried BC pills before. I suffer from severe migraines daily it ruins everything i do and my GP's have been completely useless they don't even ask me any symptoms about my headaches and refused to let me see a specialist. The only thing he did was tell me I need to go on painkillers indefinitely which does not appeal to me at all.
I am now wondering if i should take Yasmin or not after reading all these bad reviews especially concerning migraines. Has anyone with constant migraine found a way to help them? Please let me know as im desperate to know what it feels like to not have a migraine.

I have been on Lisinopril and a diuretic for about 1.5 years -- started with 5mg of lisinopril. At first had a slight cough, but went away. In Feb 2008 routine blood tests were done and my ALT - liver enzyme was slightly elevated to 36. ( last test in 2003 was normal) --- had the test repeated in Aug 2008 and the ALT was up to 41. Doctor was not too worried, not very elevated - but I persisted as to why and she sent me for an ultrasound that showed all was normal for my liver, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys. My pressure was up a bit at the Aug appt - so she increased my Lisinopril to 10mg. I had another liver enzyme test done beg of Oct 2008 and now the ALT is up to 66. I told her the only difference is increasing my Lisinopril and that must be the cause for elevated ALT levels. She is not sure -- I am now being referred to a specialist -- but told to stop taking the Lisinopril for 3 weeks and they will see what the levels are. Have only seen a few mentions of elevated liver enzymes as a side effect -- has anyone else experienced?? My AST levels are normal.

I have been on Topamax for 4 months and so far the migraines I have suffered for 40 years are gone. Great Some side effects like can't stand carbonated drinks. Reaction time is a little slower. I stress out a little more then I used to. I get really tired at the end of the day. I used to be a night owl but now love my sleep. Question to you all. Any one had problems with their teeth? Such as pain, fillings falling out? Let me know.

I got a kanalog shot for the first time 2 days ago. About an hour after the shot I began getting welp like rashes. from my scalp to the bottom of my feet. I cant brush my hair or walk without pain. I got shortness of breath and ended up in the ER. My tounge swelled up. I have sever joint pain. today, I was back in the dr... rashed in my ears, throat, mouth, nose and a very intense burning in my stomach. I am lucky that my symptoms are clear. I am covered in the sever rash that cant be ignored. I am trying another antihistamine and not sure what route will be taken if this does not work. My skin feels like fire to the touch. I went to the dr for a simple case of bronchitis and came home with a sever allergic reaction. I would rather be in labor again... I have recieved several types of medications to try. Just hope something works. The dr said the injection can be in my system for weeks. Please anyone let me know what you did or are doing to make you feel better. akzcampbell@suddenlink.net

Just finished 750mg of Levaquin five days ago. Made me feel speedy the first two days, since then I've had pain in the shoulder and elbow. Now I'm having a burning sensation in my mouth. It's on fire! Tongue and corner of my lips to. There is no blistering or signs of infection. How long does this last? What to the doctors say??

my son has a black tongue, he is three months old.

facial numbness, numbness of mouth and nose and head, slight numbness of tongue and tongue got crooked. tingling sensation all over body.

NIGHT SHE WAS ON THE FLOOR NEXT TO HER BED SCREAMING AND CRYING LIKE SHE WAS HAVING A NIGHT TERROR (SHE HAD THOSE ALL THE TIME WHEN SHE WAS LITTLE BUT HAS OUT GROWN THEM) SHE KEPT SAYING SHE WANTED TO GO HOME AND HER ARM HURT ,I GOT HER TO GO BACK TO SLEEP AND HOUR LATER SHE WAS UP SCREAMING AGAIN.TODAY SHE GOT UP AT 8 AND WAS LAYING ON COUCH BY 9:30 SLEEPING WHEN SHE WOKE UP SHE HAD 102.3 FEVER AND I KNOW NOW THAT IT IS THE MED. BECAUSE WHEN OUR THEN 2YR OLD (NOW 3) WAS PUT ON THIS MED. HE GOT A FEVER AND HUGE SORES ON HIS TOUNGE AND WAS COMPLETLY MISARABLE THE DOC.KEPT SAYING THAT HE HAD MONO AT 2 NOT. I TOOK HIM OF THE MED. AFTER I FIGURED OUT THAT WAS WHAT IT WAS AND HE HAS BEEN FINE SINCE .I SHOULD OF NEVER LET THEM PUT MY 6 YR. OLD LITTLE GIRL ON IT .

Has anyone experienced numbness or a greasy type of sensation on your tounge while taking Prednisone?

Just one question I have been on this stuff at the beginning dose for less than a week. My eyes hurt, my head is about to explode, I am sick as a dog, I lost 5 pounds, I can't eat, constipated, can't sleep, can't function, ringing in my ears, and the ADD is unbelievable. I am a medical transcriptionist I kind of need to be able to work, no work, no pay. Topamax is going bye-bye for sure but how long till the side effects go away?

Ok so I have been taking lisinopril since July 20th, against the advice of my husband who is an RN. He said the side effects were hell and had long term effects. I however was convinced that my physician new better. I have had the weird dreams, night sweats, nausea, horible abdominal cramps. This mornig I woke up with a swollen face, severely swollen tounge to the point I could not swollow and was drooling. My lymph nodes and neck swollen as well. Needless to say we went right to the hospital before I stopped breathing. When I told the doctor what I was taking he said to immediately stop it, as it was a rare side effect of the lisinopril. GREAT Something to cure me almost killed me. After a cortisone shot and a week of prednisone I should be back to normal. Im going to listen to my husband now, eat less salt and excercise more. Started Lamictal for Bi-polar II after two weeks of taking low dose, I felt so much better and focused. Then I got a sore on left side bottom tounge then an inner ear infection, and left side swollen glands under my jaw and on my shoulder blade. I went to a Dr. and she said no rash keep on medication. I have always been really healthy. I've never had these reactions ever to anything else I have teken over the years.
I also take Clozapan 0.05. This helps to calm me instantly.

I am going to continue for now, because I feel better in my mind.

I took Lisinopril 10 mg for about 10 days. My doc had told me that 5% of those tested developed an itchy cough, and to stop if this happened to me. I stopped as soon as the cough developed. That was more than a week ago. I haven't been able to get a night's sleep since then. The cough is dry and hacking and continuous. Coughing can also come at any time during the day. Sometimes a coughing attack hits when I already have a cough drop in my mouth.

I feel just the same as I've felt when experiencing a sinus infection, with nighttime drainage and sinus headache.
When I called the doctor's office, I was advised to take an over-the-counter cough med. It hasn't helped. I am exhausted.

This seems to be a case of the "cure" being worse than the initial problem.

been taking lisinopril for about 4 mounths first i got a dry mouth and tickling cough day and night . about a week ago my tast buds some of them got big ang are hurt . my doctor thinks it is lisinopril been off of them for about 5 days symptoms didnt go away yet does any else have this problem with ther tounge?

My neighbor has been on Lisinopril for 6 yrs and has had the dry cough.. BUT because the hospital got a new deal on a more generic Lisinopril RX532 5 mg. her doctor perscribed it to her ,, her syptoms are, The coughing, broncitus, blood vessels in the eye breaking, and tounge bleeding. This is only a week after starting this medication. I have not seen anything in this forum about tounge bleeding but she has a sore or cut in her mouth, as some of you have had rashes on your arms and it will not heal because of this medication, she also told me she had let the pill disolve on her tounge one night,, now I dont know if that is why she got this cut or sore but nevertheless her tounge will not stop bleeding.

i started taking biaxin xl 500 mg for 3 days on the 3rd day i knotice a white spot in my mouth the next day i woke up and knotice i had white spots all on the inside of cheeks and on my tounge it seemed everytime i looked i saw a new cluster form went to the doctor and he said it was a yeast infection in my mouth only other side effect was that i had a realy nasty taste in my mouth i stoped taking the biaxin for it scared me to death when i looked up yeast infection in mouth on the internet

I've been on it for 3 months. I am suffering, anxiety attacts, sharp pain in bottom of lung (even when I'm breathing well). Sharp pain in middle of back and lower back, extreme fatigue atttacks. Mood swings (extreme depression and euphoria).

Drug was working at first, and I no longer needed to use my Ibuterol inhauler, but now I'm back to using it every day.

I've found rinsing mouth well and brushing teeths and tounge gets rid of the dry mouth symptom.

I had a really bad bleeding ulcer on 06-02-04 and was in the hospital 4 days. One month later I had to see a GI doctor. He told me that I had the bacteria that causes ulcers. I was given a Prevpac that consist of Previcid 60mg 2x a day, Amoxicillin 1000mg 2x a day, and Biaxin 500mg 2x a day. By the second dose I was nervous, sweating, panicking, and a taste like metal in my mouth. I told the doctor about it and he said I was just under a lot of stress. He said to keep taking the meds. Two days later I had the first panic attack of my life. As the days past the symptoms got worse and I got blisters on my tounge. I changed doctors and was told by 2 different ones that the Biaxin was the culprit. That was 16 months ago and I still have a metalic taste once in a while, nervous tremors, blisters on my tounge about once a month, depression once in a while,and i'm scared to try any other meds to help my current symptoms.

It's been 5 days and it hasn't worn off! my tounge is completely knumb
