Transfusion symptoms and conditions

i HAVE BEEN ON THIS PILL FOR 3 WEEKS TODAY I HAVE GAINED 3LBS BUT ITS REALLY ONLY BLOATING, I AM TIRED ALL THE TIME AND HAVE BEEN SPOTTING FOR TWO-WEEKS STRAIGHT BUT MY CYCLE IS USUALLY 8-10 DAYS THIS IS WHY I BEGAN THE PILL TO STOP THE HEAVY CYCLES AND MOOD SWINGS. I AM CURRENTLY ON EFFEXOR SO DEPRESSION IS THERE AND I HAVE BEEN USING PROACTIVE SINCE IT HIT THE MARKET BUT THE ACNE IS BREAKING TO NEW HEIGHTS I AM GOING TO STICK THIS OUT TO SEE IF IT WILL GET BETTER FOR ME CAUSE MY IRON WAS SO LOW THEIR WANTED TO DO A TRANSFUSION DUE TO THE HEAVY BLEEDING AND CLOTTING LIKE I JUST HAD A BABY. BUT I WILL KEEP YOU ALL UPDATED IF THINGS GET WORSE OR BETTER. tHE ONLY THING I WILL SAY IS THE STOMACH PAIN IS TERRIBLE BUT ITS NOT CRAMPS IT JUST ACHES, AND THE NAUSEA IS GETTING TO ME A LITTLE BUT IT BEATS THE HEAVY PERIODS, PERIOD.

12 years ago i had my son and was perscriped Otho, until 4-5 months ago my dr. switched me to Femcon FE. i noticed heavier periods but waited to see if i would adjust. 24 hours ago i was rushed to the ER w/ small potato size clots and a possible discussion of a transfusion. i am not writing to say everyone stop taking this but this was my experience and it wasn't a very good one. i am switch back to ortho, now that i have been hospitalized, anemic, and almost died..

I am 50 years old...nearly bled to death from fibroids and became anemic. I had extremely heavy periods and had to receive a transfusion of 2 units of blood when my blood count went down to 7. My options were 1) Do
nothing...2) Take 6 months of Lupron to hopefully bump me into menopause....3) Fibroid embellization...4) Hysterectomy. I am trying to avoid a hysterectomy....and needed time to get my blood count up before any other procedure. I have had some of the side affects...hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats,.....but I had them before because I was pre-menapausal anyway so there is really no difference. Have not noticed any weight gain and I get my 3rd shot today. Everyone's body is different...for now Lupron has been a life saver for me.
