everyone has their own opinion about mirena but i am here to assure you all that your not crazy. Im currently 19 years old and had mirena inserted October of 2008. Its been about a year and im going nuts. For a long time i had no answers to all of the crazy side effects. I didn't want to believe it was this wonderful easy convenient birth control. Im a college student and i just didn't want any unplanned babies. well its made my life worse. I smoke cigarettes so my doctor told me this was the best option and so i was all for it. Slowly but surely i started losing hair i didn't notice for awhile because my hair was thick in full well i can wrap a standard pony tail four frekin times around my pony. Its about half of my usual hair now. NOT ONLY is it falling out but its very dry and splitting all it does is tangle. Im very healthy young and i take vitamins daily to try and slow this process but it does no good. Since February of 2008 ive been having these terrible episodes were i get worked up for no reason. Ill be sitting in class and all of a sudden i feel like ive run a marathon. My heart races my palms sweat and a tremble. I get so freked out i have to leave class because i fell like im going to die. The worst anxiety attacks and i have to control my breathing or they just last longer. My face is so oily and so is my hair. I usually only washed my hair every other day so i don't strip the natural oils out but now its become a everyday thing which just contributes to more hair lose. I use to break out only around my period now i don't go a day without acne. Im even getting it in my scalp and back. If I don't eat on a schedule i feel like im going to pass out i get severely hungry and weak. I have pains in my uterus and ovaries sometimes and though they don't last long they are painful. I never feel like i want to have sex ever and if i do theres no telling when its going to hurt. Im very dissatisfied with mirena i loved it at first but not enough to go bald. ITS MADE MY LIFE SO STRESSFUL I FEEL BALD AND UGLY AND THAT LEADS TO DEPRESSION.

LOWER BACK PAIN
STOMACH PAIN
NO SEX DRIVE
ACNE AND OILY SKIN
DAMN NEAR BALD
PAIN IN UTERUS/DURING SEX/ANYTIME
EXTREME ANXIETY
DEPRESSION

After being on Diovan hct 160/25 for about two years I developed a severe stiffness in my neck, a piercing center chest pain when I coughed and so much muscle/joint pain I could barely get out of bed in the morning. Don't know if it is a result of Diovan, but this is my only med. Finally (after a year) I spent six months undergoing tests and consults with one doctor who finaly gave up. A second doctor diagnosed fibromyalgia and prescribed diclofenac, which somewhat controls the neck stiffness and pain. Now, a year after the fibromyalgia diagnosis I am learning Diovan might be at fault but don't know what to do next. Any suggestions welcome!...

My mother actually already posted about my experience with Levaquin, but I thought I would add my own story.
After being perscribed Levaquin and taking only one...I couldn't sleep, my heart rate (normally below 60) was at atleast 110, I thought people were outside my house and envisioned them talking about killing me. I have never felt this way in my life. It was very scary and I called the ER to ask if I should continue taking the meds. They told me to take another and see what happens... Thank goodness I threw it up, because after reading these horror stories, I'm afraid I may have had permanent damage. This drug is absolutely awful for those with side effects. Stop taking them at the first sign of symptoms like these. Most doctors it looks like are oblivious to the fact that this is happening.

I have been on Geodon for BPD for about a month and a couple of weeks. I also have side effects -dry mouth, terrible indigestion, sometimes sleep too much, sometimes not at all. I get headaches only if I miss a dosage, though. I'm restless alot. And my muscles tremble even thought no one can see them. Also some paranoia.

I'm on 80 mgs. every night and plan to stick with it because I can feel my moods stabilizing. I feel very different from before I was taking this medicine. For me the BPD is much worse than the side effects caused by Geodon. I have taken other meds that put me in the hospital.

So far this has been a life saver for me.

My doc told me to stick to the 80 mgs. a night because of the awful side effects from the other meds he wants to raise dosage slowly.

Yes, I'm uncomfortable and wish I didn't have to take it. But since it is the only one that is truly working so far I will stick with it. I suffer much more when my BPD is not under control.

I was prescribed Avelox on December 21, 2005 for an ear/sinus infection that would not go away despite taking other antibiotics. I took the Avelox about 9:30pm that night and 20 minutes after taking the first pill the stomach cramps started and I rushed to the bathroom, while on the toilet I started vomiting in the waste basket, then I felt (the only way to describe it is a burning) in the middle of me body and it seemed to start to spread outward. In a few minutes I was drenched in sweat (my hair was dripping wet) and I started to tremble. I made it out of the bathroom and yelled to my husband that we needed to go to the ER. By this time I was starting to have trouble breathing - my throat didn't close or anything - the feeling was in my chest, felt like my lungs wouldn't expand and I was gasping for breath. Instead of calling the Ambulance my husband drove me to the ER which is less than 10 minutes from the house. When I got to the ER all I was able to say was Antibiotic Allergy and they started giving me shots. I lost consciousness (sp?) and when I woke up some 30 minutes later I was having convulsions. The ER Doctor said I was going to be all right but I was a very lucky girl - couple more minutes and I would have died. The gave me massive doses of epinephrene and steriods to conteract the Avelox. They wanted to hospitalize me but it was 4 days before Xmas so I pleaded with them to let me go home so that Christmas wouldn't be ruined for my 3 small children. Almost was a disasterous Xmas, thanks to Avelox. Later learned that Avelox has a high incidence rate of allergic reactions --- Anaphylatic Shock -- So people beware READ the information carefully before taking any medication.

I started taking Advair two weeks ago and over the last two week the following symptoms started out subtle until the last few days where I knew there was a problem. I had a very rapid and irregular heart beat, my hands would tremble uncontrollably and I started to have joint pain in my right hip and knee. I did dome research on line and also called my doctor and they said there can be side effects and to stop taking the medication. It has almost 24 hours since took my last dose and I am really starting to feel better. I less trembling and my heart rate and rhythm are slowing becoming less noticeable. Thank God I equated the medication to the onset of these symptoms. It was quite frightening to say the least!

All these feelings u r having come from the pred. Trembling in the hands or shaking, hunger, weight gain, anxiety, insomnia, etc., r a part of the pred. Everyone here who has been on pred. has gone thru all of the side effects. It's very hard to go thru. Don't think u r crazy, it's the pred. I've been off of it since June 10th and still have insomnia, and sometimes my hands tremble. I was on it for 4 yrs. Watch out for high carb foods and high sugar content foods or u will be in the bathroom alot. Hang in there and God Bless all of u.

I'm sitting here praying daily that it's the darn Yasmin causing me my grief (putting it mildly). I was on it for almost 2 years. In that time I went through a divorce and then some time later, a nasty long term relationship. I went on and off antidepressants and nothing seemed to help. My side effects? Which ones DIDN'T I have? Depression, severe anxiety, incredible mood swings, break-outs, IBS, headaches... But the only thing that really caused any problems for me was the anxiety and depression. No matter what I did, who I was with, my life (on the insde) was a living hell. I worried about EVERYTHING. My heart races constantly. I shake and tremble with fear when I really hit my low points. I was beginning to think that I was really going crazy. Then it dawned on me (one day recently) that a girlfriend mentioned she couldn't take Yasmin cuz it "made her crazy" and I thought, "Could it be that this pill has been making me feel this way for the past couple years?" sure did. Why do I know this? Cuz there was a period of time when I went off it for 2 months and I felt better than I had felt in years. I was happy. Nothing bothered me. I could concentrate. I had energy and motivation. I wanted to exercise. I was simply my good ol' self! But, then I got into a new relationship and thought I better go back on the pill. Well, we've been together for a month now. I've been on the pill for a little over a month and guess what? In my mind, my life is back to being a living hell. And it just didn't make sense cuz everything was going so wonderfully with me and my new beaux. I lay awake one night, ALL night long while I was with him, just feeling so ANGRY at everything and anything.. and at him. So, has my thoughts wondered, they wondered onto the possibility that my pill was making me feel this way AGAIN. So, the next morning, I woke up and immediately got online and typed in "Yasmin side effects" and this is the first site that pops up. THANK GOD!! I am NOT CRAZY!! Now, I've been off the terrible pill for a week now. I am still suffering from most of the side effects but I am trying everything and anything to get through these next couple of weeks before I do something stupid and ruin this wonderful relationship I am in. I want to be my ol' self again so I can ENJOY my new beaux... cuz he really is good to me!

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you ladies that are experiencing these same "wonderful" side effects of Yasmin. No one, not even your worst enemy, deserves to feel this way! Best of luck!

My mother was put on this medication to build up her blood plateletes. This does not made any sense to us since this was prescribed for my daughter who had severe asthma years ago. It was too severe on my daughter's stomach lining and other than that, did not have any other side effects that we knew of beside some weight gain, which truth to tell, is a family trait anyway. But my mother, who is in her early 70's, has experienced severe cramping, sleeplessness, her hands tremble, her legs tend to curl up, and she becomes nauseous and is losing weight she can't afford to lose. Why everyone else seems to gain weight and she is LOSING weight is wierd. Why she was told to take this medication is something I will find out on her next visit since it has NOTHING to do with building up her blood! My brother has a friend who was on put on this medication back in the 70's and stayed on it for decades. He got the moon face effect and gained 60 pounds; it ate away his hip bone. He has a limp to this day.

I started taking this drug last January and it gave me so much pain. I had tremors and finger twisting last April. Everytime I would do something new or do something that requires courage....I tremble and would not try to do it because of anxiety. I started to get palpitations everytime I wake up and the excitement I had in my life disappeared.
I got so depress and emotional crippled. I asked the doctor about it but she said refuse to comment that the medicine has an adverse effect on me. I am seeking another doctor to know if there is another medicine aside from Levoxyl so I can be my normal self again.

My dr. prescribed Ultracet for my fibromyalgia, and I'm to take two before bedtime. My husband reports that it makes me jerk all night long - very much like one does when you doze off and suddenly awake with a start. It also made my hands tremble the next morning. It's great for pain, but I'm not sure about these side effects.
