Just had my mirena taken out on Friday after arguing with my ob. My GP couldn't take it out, so I finally went to the ER. The triage nurse rolled her eyes at me and looked at me like I was crazy, but oh well. Have been bleeding really heavily since Sunday am, and have been feeling pretty sick and anxious, but I am just glad to have it out!!

Like the rest of everyone else, the flu season hits and you want to get rid of your cold!!! Right. Right. Go to the doctors and they give you a drug.
Yes, I had taken the zpack for the 5 days and like everyone else, I have had all of the same feelings; depression, diarrhea, stomach ache, rash/itching, fullness in your ear or ringing, loss of taste-smell. Oh yeah, what a joy.
I called the Pharmacy to ask about how long I should experience this, it should go away in 10 days. Well, not as of yet...the loss of hearing and loss of taste. Not sure what would be the next step? Go to the doctor's and get more drugs, ie;more side effects.!? Anyone have the same side effects with your ears?

My 6 mos. old daughter has been on Omnicef for about 3-4 days now, AND she is also dealing with some constipation...today she had about 3 clay like stools that were red-orange and then tonight another one was completely brick red/maroon. It didn't really look like a typical bloody stool, but I was nervous due to her constipation and straining when trying to get it out. I called the triage nurse and she said it was from the Omnicef...thank God she's not actually bleeding!

It was very alarming though, and we almost went to the ER. Hopefully her resp. infection and constipation will subside and she will get to feeling better soon!

I took one capsule of this medication at 2:00pm on 12/12/07 and about twenty minutes after taking this medication I began to feel nauseous, than I went and ate something about one hour later just a piece of toast. About ten minutes of eating I began to throw up and started having a headache, so I just kept going not really thinking about it, because the side effect do say headache may occur so I continue my day, about 1 hour and 30 minutes after regurgitating my head was hurting so severely that my eyes was watering and pulse could be heard through my ears, like a drum beating. I then became dizzy and things seemed to get blurred so I laid down and about 10 minutes in laying down my mouth began to fill with thick mucus almost like cotton in my mouth, began to be extremely thirsty so I got up and got water, to throw it back up. I then began to feel my jaw tightening up feeling like I was getting lock jaw. I then called my doctor office and talked to a triage nurse who then called a doctor and called me back and told me not to take any more of the medication and to take 50mg of Beneadryl because of a allergic reaction to the medication, but I am also allergic to PCN and ASA so she said it is rare for people to have an allergic reaction to this medication. Now my symptoms was not over that night I could not sleep, I also had bad dreams, severe night sweats, and nauseous that morning. I started having lower abdominal cramps, and still having problems sleeping, and sometimes I feel like crying and for no reason. Today is 12/20/07 and I still am having severe abdominal cramps, still nauseous in the mornings, no headaches or cotton mouth but the stomach cramps have not yet left and I only took one capsule, today makes a week, tomorrow is my doctor apt. hopefully I can get something to help me out but this is my story about this mess up drug.

Omnicef is actually one antibiotic my 2 year old has little trouble with. The red stools are alarming but at least they are solid. Currently he's on Augmentin which has caused horrible rash and loose stools.
The other nice thing about Omnicef is the dosing schedule.Usually once or twice daily depending on the infection. The 3x daily with Augmentin is way too much stress for me to bear, and for him even more so. Seeing his poor little red butt makes me cry with him. Since the two drugs can be used for the same infections, I will be asking for the Omnicef first from now on. Omnicef seems to clear his infections very quickly. The Docs really should forewarn about the red stools though, they are quite scary, even though they are typically harmless.

It has been a year ago since I had my reaction to Levaquin. On Feb. 11, 2005; I suffered an anaphexia reaction and had to be put on the vent for 3 days. I remained in CCU for 6 of the 7 days I was in the hospital. I took Levaquin about 5pm that evening and all of a sudden I became very tired. I went to lay down and 20 minutes later I woke with my ears on fire. I went to the bathroom and looked at my ears and they were both bright red with a rash on both of them. Then these red marks began to go down my neck, down my arms and it was covering my whole body. I went immediately to the emergency room. The triage nurse asked me some questions and my lips began to turn blue and my tongue was swelling even bigger. The nurse put me back in the Urgent care where I was left. I was not put on any monitors or seen by any doctor. Then within 5 minutes a nurse showed up, didn't check my arm band to see if it was me and gave me a shot of ephirenephrine in my stomach and walked away. As she turned the corner, I was laying down on my back telling my daughter to go get a "real" doctor, something was wrong. The next thing I knew, I was being surrounded by a bunch of people and being told they were about to put me out and put me on the vent. I just wanted to go away. I did. I lost 3 days of my life. Now, it has been over a year since this happened. I am extremely hypersensitive. Now I am experiencing allergic reactions to everything I eat. It starts with the very tip of my tongue going numb and tingling. Then it goes to the middle of my tongue, which makes my tongue thick, then it goes to my Uvala and down my throat. My hands get real red and I become very thrusty. But it hasn't bothered my breathing at all. Does anyone out there have these same symptoms? If so, what is it called? and do you know how to get rid of it? Thanks.

In February, 2005, I had a severe allergic reaction to Levaquin. The day I received the prescription for Levaquin. I took my first dose at 5pm. As soon as I took the pill, I became very sleepy, so I went to bed. At 520pm, I awoke suddenly because my ears felt as if they were on fire. When I went to the bathroom mirror to look at my ears, they were both firey red and ringing. I then experienced some tightness in my throat and my tongue began to swell. So I ask my daughter to go with me to the emergency room. So we left to go to the emergency room. When I got there, which we only lived about 2and 1/2 miles away, my lips had begun to turn blue and my tongue was getting thick feeling. The triage nurse put me in a wheelchair and brought me back to urgent care. I sat down on a wood table and was talking to my daughter trying not to worry. Then a nurse arrived with a shot of ephinephrine and gave it to me in my stomach. As soon as the nurse left and was out of sight I started to lay back onto the table, as I was telling my daughter to get a doctor something was wrong. Then when I came to I had an oxygen mask over my mouth and all the doctors and nurses surrounding me, telling me to remain calm they are going to put me asleep so that they can intabate me, (stick a tube down my throat to breath for me). The next time I woke up, I had been on a "vent" for 3 days and they had to supply me with 10 liters of fluid after they got me on the 'vent'. I stayed a week in the hospital before I was discharged. My body swelled up so badly, I looked like I was a pumpkin about to pop open. I had small little dots all over my body for weeks after this episode. I can now take no antibotics. I am allergic to all antibotics so If I get an infection, I am out of luck!

I am 28 year old female with diabetes. My doc put me on lipitor as a preventive for my heart, as well as I do have slightly high cholestorol. Within a week of srating the med I developed body aches like the worst flu you could imagine. Th pain then became intense in my right arm, but the triage nurse at my dr's told me it was the flu and would last a few days, but I couldn't handle it and went to the ER, where they said it must be a virus (fever of 102) and sent me home. The majority of the aches went away, but my right arm remained a throbbing pain. I then developed a bronchial virus, and the pain let up afor a few weeks, then all over, joints and muscles. Somedays I would cry all day- no narcotics seem to help enough to make it worth takeing them. Finally, a month after starting the lipitor, my doc took me off, "just in case" it was that. well, the first 2 days were better, then all the weakness, fatigue, and aches came back. I could barely climb a set of stairs, I'd be out of breath and my muscles would cramp like I'd run 5 miles. I could no longer sleep at night, 2-3 hours max...finally was admitted to the hospital where a zillion tests were done and nothing found to give a diagnosis, though mitochondrial myopathy was mentioned, as well as mitochondrial encephalytus. I can barely handle a day of a few errands, and have been out of work for months. Sometimes I think my brain is fried, cuz I can't remember the simplest things, or I forget where I am or where I'm going. Thank God I have wonderful friends to support me, and Jesus Christ to lead me through. I pray that it goes away soon, as the neuroloist says it may, otherwise I think I'll have to be put on disability. I've also put on about 30 lbs due to the exhaustion I guess, so much for those pilates!
