I'm in my early 30s. Prior to Yasmin, I had migraines 1-2 a year (each episode lasted a max of 5 hours). 5 months after Yasmin, my headaches occurred 1-2 A MONTH and lasted 1-3 DAYS!!! In addition, prior to Yasmin (while I was at my heaviest, not exercising, & not watching what I ate), my cholesterol was 181 & my triglycerides (?sp?) were 91. After about a year and a half on Yasmin (and exercising regularly, being 20 lbs lighter, & eater healthier), my cholesterol shot up to 256 & my triglycerides skyrocketed to 262!!! After reading info online, I decided there may be a connection to Yasmin & my cholesterol & migraines - there haven't been other changes in my life. So, this weekend, I decided to stop Yasmin cold turkey. I'll retest my cholesterol in 3 months & post the results. Has anyone else experienced a rise in cholesterol &/or triglycerides on Yasmin?

Not sure if this is Vytoring related, but I have near-constant nausea (with NO loss of appetite), fatigue, exercise intolerance and shortness of breath and pain in both elbows.

It cut my cholesterol in half and is still down, but my triglycerides have shot way up....

I am 34 years old, white, male, american. I am 6 foot 2 inches and weigh appx 215 pounds. My blood pressure had been creeping up a few years ago so I was put on a small dose of Benicar. No problems, BP went down. During a regular check-up with blood tests it was discovered that my cholesteral and triglicerides(have no idea if I'm spelling these corectly) were up. Cholesteral was 215 and trig. were through the roof. He put me on 10 mg per day and said we'll do blood tests in six weeks. About three weeks in I started cramping in my abdominal region. It got worse with alocohol intake but didn't seem to change much other than that. I complained to my doc's nurses and they said, "Zocor doesn't usually have ANY side effect." My blood test showed a drop in my numbers and no liver or kidney problems (according to my doctor). I stopped taking Zocor for about four days and felt better. I started again and now my cramping is worse than ever. My doctor hooked me up with another doctor and I have a colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I might stick it out until then to see if anything shows up but this website and these posts really worry me. Doctors I think listen to drug salespersons and not their patients too much. Wish me luck.

user beware!!!!!!!!! bipolar disorder runs in my family, i unfortunately inherited this vicious disease. i was on eskalith 300 mg. 3 times a day. over time the drug did calm down my manic episodes, but as time went on for it took more than a year. my blood sugar started going up, and my triglycerides also went up. my triglicerides shot up too 723 and my blood sugar went up all the way to 496, yes that is correct. to make a long story short, they took me off the eskalith, to try to lower my blood sugar, it has gone down from 496 to about 206. never any lower than 206. thanks to eskalith i'm now a type 2 diabetic, the damage has been done!!!!!!!! there is no reversal of the symptons. i believe the fda should take more time before granting pharmaceutical companies like smithkline the go ahead to put a drug like this on the market. it is not about making money at the expense of the patient, it is about caring for the patient and trying to make him well.

sincerely:

charlie
