Thank God for this website! I have learned much and appreciate your experiences so much!
I had the Mirina placed in May of 2008. I have endometriosis and had to come off the oral contraceptives due to migraines. The placing of the Mirina was somewhat painful, but all in all, it wasn't so bad that I look back and say it wasn't worth the pain. Just felt like a bad period, but it only lasted a short time. However, I am ready to GET IT OUT! I absolutely hate the way I feel on it. I did bleed for about 6 weeks, but it was mostly spotting, so not too bad, and I really didn't mind, knowing that my endometrium was thinning out. But, I began to get horrible nausea, so bad that I had trouble getting out of bed in the morning. I felt like I could be pregnant. And, my boobs got really, really sore. So bad, that when I got out of bed, I felt the most pain. They felt like swollen water baloons (sorry for the lack of tact here). I also started to get my headaches back. They were not the typical MIGRAINES i had on teh oral contraceptives, but they were definitely there, and they were cyclic. I told my doctor about this, and she was extremely surprised. She said she has a Mirina and has absolutely no problems and loves it. I felt like I must be imagining things until I found this website. The worst for me is the nausea and the headaches. So, it will come out this Monday. I am a little frightened at what I will feel like afterwards, since I've read it can take the body some time to adjust. But, I did decide to "go organic" to try to rid my body of toxins. I don't know if it will help but I hope so. By the way, I want to pass on that if anyone has really bad periods (or endo), it does help to use Flaxseed Oil. It is pricey, and can be bought at a Natural Market like Whole Foods. It is refridgerated and I take 1 tsp per day. I noticed a decrease in my cramping. Just wanted to pass it on in case it might help someone out there.
Oh, forgot to mention, I am very moody on this Mirina. I snapped at work the other day and yelled at my boss. Very unlike me. I was so agitated and upset over something small. Been like that a lot.
God Bless!
Jackie

I took levaquin 750mg as prescribed yesterday, after leaving my doctors office at 330pm ( june 18th). along with calrinex d (1tab) and a tsp of tussionex suppension syrup and 4 nose shots of astelin in increments of two over a 4 hr period of time. I was awake a majority of the night unable to sleep. But had some bouts of sleep. This morning (june 19th) I awoke at 930 am forced awake due to an appointment, and took 550 mgm of levaqin and the array of other drugs, around 12pm I noticed a headache and believed it was due to the exertion of coughing so much, my appetite is non-existent and around 6pm I felt flushed and sweaty, however this feeling subsided. I am now in hyper drive, I want to fall asleep but when I do my throat has the sensation of being choaked and then I have this odd gush or air emmited nasally which awakens me from the doze. My left corotid arrtey was tender and my heart is palpitating. While my sinus infection is almost gone I do not think I will be continuing this medication. There will be a call made to my physician at first reasonable light, I am sure I will be awake.

My 8 year old daughter had to take the liquid form of this medication for a UTI..2 tsp/twice a day for 10 days. On the 5th day she had a high fever, so I gave her liquid ibuprofin. Then she started throwing the antibiotic up and she was getting fevers up 105. The ibuprofin would only get her down to 100/101 range. She then started to complain about her neck hurting, so I was thinking meningitis! She was thirsty all the time and said it felt weird to swallow. After 4 days, I finally found 3 websites regarding side affects, including this one. I'm definitely not giving her any more of this antibiotic. Her UTI however seemed to be gone in 3 days.

I took Lipitor for about 2 years- 5 mg.
Leg cramps-soreness throughout my muscles- very sore buttocks-
my legs are shaky- if I use them too much; (as in walking 3 miles)
I am (was ) an avid body builder that could squat with 100 lbs- and now ( I am a health conscious -non drinking- NO other medication 104 lb slim female) have quivering legs if I stand for too long. I even had a muscle biopsy- and it cam back negative- I have not had a statin for 6 months- but I still have cramps- and abnormal liver values- and I have NO other conditions-I have been scanned from head to toe - open MRI- closed MRI -but the muscle stiffness- soreness- especially legs- continues-
does anyone know how long it lasts? I have also been tested for liver cancer- thank God-negative.
I really feel that Lipitor did this- has anyone else gone from fit as a fiddle to a quivering -achy person- I have gone through 5 doctors- internal - gastrointestinal - neurologist- hematologist and all is negative- just high liver values and muscle pain. Thank you so much.Maxine

I have been taking Omeprazole since December 2007 now so 2 and a half months.
I had the dose increased to 40mg 3 weeks ago as 20mg wasn't curing the burning in my throat.
For a few weeks now i have had increasing vertigo/dizziness and palpitations. I only linked the 2 to the medication just yesterday, googled it just now and confirmed my suspicions to the Omeprazole.
Other feeling i have had since taking this medication...
Severe dizziness
vertigo
palpitations
headaches/migraines
weakness
fatigue
sweating
nausea
bloating
stomach cramps
visual problems
intolerance to bright lights
aching joints
chest pain
Now my question to myself is do i come off the tablets and endure the misery of my acid reflux? surely there must be something else we can take for our stomach problems that don't cause these awful side effects.
Anyone tried anything else that worked and didn't make them unwell?

We found this medication to be largely ineffective, too mild to have an effect om symptoms. My daughter was diagnosed with strep, and takes Claritin daily for allergy symptoms. On top of the strep, she had a nearly non-stop cough. Prescription stated 1 tsp twice daily. On first night of use, we gave 2 tsp and had zero improvement in symptoms. After two hours, gave another 2 tsp (4 total), and again, had zero improvement in symptoms. Following night, abandoned this med, and used individual meds instead of this combo. Used Benadryl to replace antihist, used much cough suppressant individually, but did used same decongestant slightly higher amount. Also, supplemented with Tylenol. Everyone slept on the second night.

My 13-mo. old son was prescribed sulfameth-trimeth susp. for having had fever of 103F for 3 days without any cold or flu symptoms. He had to take a tsp. twice a day for 10 days but after only 2 days of taking it, he developed a terrible hive-like rash all over his body. His fever has subsided but I have discontinued this medication and will be contact his doc asap. I would not recommend this drug.

Recently, my 12 month old son was prescribed Omnicef for what the Doctor thought was strep throat. Before the medication he had a steady temp of 102 and was very un-energetic. After five does of 1 TSP my son broke out in a horrible rash all over his face, torso/truck, and upper part of his arms and legs. He also got a diaper rash and diarrhea. He also was very bad tempered and moody. This was such a change from his past behavior, even when he was sick. The doctor thinks this is an allergic reaction to the mediation and put him on another antibiotic. I am very concerned about this medication and it's side effects. It seems that eveyone is experiencing some very serious things.

had cerium implants 8 Sep 2005. Flomax rxd one or two before sleep. Still get up ave. three/night. Acute urges produce a tsp or a cup-don't know in advance.
Rx changed to one am and one pm. Told to drink eight glasses of H2O per day. Also have freq. urges for BM, seldom productive. May be due to stimulation of size of inflamed prostate and/or radiation. Feel good except for the incontinence.

hi cjmom--
glad you found this site! hate to say it but i just swallow 2 tsp of vinegar before my meals. it's bad but not THAT bad. if it helps rev up my metabolism it is worth it! i really like drinking the pure cranberry juice... but be sure and dilute it in a lot of water or it is very tart. drink tons of it. it's also supposed to be a holistic remedy for shingles, which is why i was prescribed prednisone. so who knows? maybe it is also good for the hives? then my opthamologist said i never should have been on prednisone in the first place (it was prescribed by an urgent care doctor).
bottom line is my moon face has been going away. i don't know if it's the diurex or cranberry water or both. i'm going to keep using both just for good measure.
can eating a grapefruit a day cause bladder infections??? i was excited to be eating a healthy fruit!
good luck!

My 3 yr old was put on viravan 1 tsp 2x a day. He turned into a monster child. I would be very cautious with theis med!!!!It is very potent! I check the label after I noticed how wild he became and it said only 1/2 tsp for his age. Well, he had been on it for 3-4 days, so I just stopped it all together. His cough is back, but no way will I put him through that again ...ever!! He is still crazy from it. Very aggressive and no reaction to correctioon what so ever. He is usually a very well mannoer child, and I hope thiss goes away soon!! GOOD LUCK!

My 20 month old son was just prescribed Alburterol and a Steroid for RSV, he has a horrible case of RSV that he nearly has pneumonia, weezing and can't take deep breaths. The Albuterol makes him nuts. He is usually this sweet little boy, who listens and barely ever cries. Now he screams, he is jittery to the point it seems like he is on speed. He has gotten violent towards his sisters and me. Today he actually bit me and broke the skin where I couldn't get him off me. For no apparent reason he will scream at the top of his lungs, and he throws himself into things. And sleeping, forget it, this little man has insomnia, within an hour after I get him to bed he is screaming and will not relax. It seems he usually crashes after about 2 hours after his dose, he lays down whereever he is and takes a short nap, about 30 minutes later he gets another jolt of energy and goes nuts. I don't know if maybe 1 1/2 tsp. is too much for him, but its either this or their admitting him to the hospital. Where are my options? :-(
