It is now day 8....unfortunately the blood pressure has rocketed up to 150/100 had to go back on the full meds ...........being tired isn't fun but 150/100 isn't safe to walk around with....very hard to sleep with a pressure pounding that high...hopefully the exercise 30 min a day will combat the tired and depression effects...then in a few months ill try again or a different med if necessary.....not looking forward to itching again either !
At the age of 36 this genetic blood pressure problem has become very frustrating ..all tests came back normal ekg, heart scans, kidney scans mri s blood tests so whats left they say Sleep Apnea could be the issue need a sleep test though to see ........have a good one all

My 6 year old son has had all of these more or less. He has been on Singulair for about 5 months. We took him off last Friday when he started having seizures. It is only now that we are connecting the things he has complained about. He is still going through testing but everytime a test is done it is negative. He is in perfect health. The dr.s are stumped. What happens is, he smells a wierd smell. Then he sees lights. After this he has a bad headache and becomes weak so he lays down. Shortly thereafter he stiffens and starts shaking his arms and legs while clinching his hands. He also grunts and makes a buzzing sound and appears as though he only breathes out. the dr.s say it is not seizures but movement disorder and if it is Singulair it should be out of his system within 3 days... He is still having the seizure type fits and its been a week since we took him off singulair. He is still losing his temper and having horrible dreams as well. Cat scan was normal, EEG was normal, blood work is ok, they want to do an MRI but does this sound familiar to anyone?

Update after stopping Singulair. I stopped taking the drug on March 7th due to sleep disturbances (vivid dreams), depression (constant impending doom and thoughts of death), gastrointestinal disturbance - diarrhea, cramping on lower left side, general IBS symptoms. Following discontinuance, the depression has lessened, not currently to the point where I am the same person as I was (never suffered depression). Sleep has returned to normal, but find days when I become very tired after 5 hours and still go to bed early. This is not every day, some days cannot sleep, others are easy. GI problems became moreso after stopping. Went to the doctor who is doing a colonoscopy next week, I am overdue but the cramping, indigestion and roving abdominal pain bacame worse the first week following cessation and are now subsiding.
I wish I were one of the majority who could take this drug, but unfortunatly am not. Hopefully all negative side effects will be gone in the next few weeks, just hard to believe it did so much to me.

I have just read all of your comments on the Yasmin birth control pill and would like to state a few of mine. I have been on Yasmin for about 2 1/2 years, the first side affect that I experienced is my heart rate felt out of control at times during the first 3 months or so that I started taking it that went away thank god! I also lost about 5 pounds instintly, can't complain there. The only side affect that I am a little conserned about is my horrible mood swings and depression about 4 days before I start my period. I will take a small problem amd make it into a huge deal and I feel like crying my eyes out. Unfortunatly the one that I take this out on is my husband poor guy! Do any of you girls feel your mood swings and depression only during certain times of the month? I am honestly starting to wonder if I should change.

I've been taking Apri for about 3 weeks now. I previously took Yasmin, which was great. Unfortunatly I've had terrible side effects with Apri. I've gained about 5 lbs, even my feet and hands are swollen, I'm irritable, I've had anxiety, depression and my mood swings are out of control. I'm finishing this pack then I'm done. It's so not worth it!

after taking 175 synthroid for 6 months - my thyroid was so out of whack i could sleep and was a complete mess. my doctor has the staff from heck and i by the time i got to see him i was a complete wreck.
anyway - he put me on 25 of cytomel along with reducing the sythroid to 150.
i have to tell you i slept better right away. BUT! i was a wide eyed nut job for the next 3 days! and unfortunatly i had a disability hearing that monday!
i am so upset, because my main complaint was that i was soooo tired. (i have terrible short term memory problems, and cognitive diffuculties) but since my last two weeks were filled with sleepless nights and tired days all i could think of was the need to stay in bed!
back to cytomel. that was Feb 14. its now april 20th. there are days when my hands shake. but i cant be sure what its from. i have many other problems. (not that this shrink beleived me) heck i was wide awake!
but all in all i feeling better now. just have to get my doctor to verify that cytomel caused my spurt of energy. ugh.
oh well nothing is easy.

All this side effects...especially the foggy head the cramp and the depression, very funny dreams and bad sleep, I had with the Diana pill. After stopping this pill I felt 200 percent better, but unfortunatly dropped me right into pre menopause and I am much too young for it. So decided to have a look at the Yasmin...but sheeeesh this side is scary....
I don't respond very well to a pill anyway. Is there a pill that does not have those foggy head, sleepless nights and depression side effects?

I just thank God I found this website...I literally thought I was losing my mind until I started to read all the horror stories associated with Levaquin. After only 3 doses of 500mg levaquin over a 3 day period, I literally thought I was dying. I was given this drug for a sinus and ear infection. Almost immediatly I experienced chest pain, headache, severe nausea diarrhea, and visual disturbances. I continued to take the medication in hopes that these symptoms would subside after my body got use to it, but unfortunatly that was only the beginning. What followed was extreme fatigue, muscle spasms, numbness in my hands and toes and probably the worse feeling I have ever experienced in my life. I called my doc and told him I stopped the medication and thankfully he prescribed another antibiotic for me. After 5 days of not being able to get out of bed, I finally am able to function somewhat although I still am experiencing some muscle weakness. I am sure this drug has worked for some people, but if I had my way, it would be banned. It was the scariest expereince of my life..and what is most troubling is that we are at the mercy of these drug companies. Someone should have told me that these side effects were possible....the cure shouldnt be worse then the illness. Good luck and good health to all of you...I hope you all will be well again soon.

This Sunday I start Yasmin, I took ortho-trycyclen for 3 years and it made me a complete nut case, had trouble breathing which my doctor said was from my smoking but I never felt like that before the pill. I usually take my pills at 10pm, so Im hoping yasmin will be the one for me plus help with weightloss. Unfortunatly alot of posts here are talking about their breasts increasing in size, nausea, and many other horrible symptoms. That scares me since im already a dd and 4'11. I pray that these work since I just had surgery today due to a missed ab and would hate to go through all the moodiness and pain of Ortho again, then go off for one month to feel normal (which was the best month of my life in the last 3 years-Hormone FREE) and get pregnant on gels and other over the counter birth control :(

I don't know what is wrong with you people but its like you can't handle anything. I had the mirena put in November last year and yeah ok i had cramping for the first month or so and yeah i had spotting. But unlike some of you fools i knew what the side effects were i read what came in the package which means i knew what to expect before i got it put in. And yeah there are loads of possible side effects but if you read everything and know what could happen you shouldn't complain if something does happen. Not everyone who has the mirena has these things and for people who are considering it i would recommend trying it and after 3 months if it doesn't feel good then get it removed. That especially goes to people that have just had a baby... i mean really in the first 3 months after having a baby who is really seriously interested in sex right away. The reason i am here was to see if there was more information about them now because UNFORTUNATELY i had to have mine removed for an operation. I had a cyst on my fallopian tube which was not mirena related. In fact almost all women get them when they are menstruating but they go away. Unfortunately with me they don't go away and this is the 2nd cyst to be removed in 3 years. I am planning on getting a second mirena inserted next week. Because frankly i find it ideal. And yeah i may have had mood swings on occasion while i had it but come on think about it what woman doesn't have mood swings. So sure you can blame everything on the Mirena but for the most part besides then for the people where the mirena got stuck or moved during the time you had it... its all in your head. And like i said before i would recommend the mirena and if after 3 or 4 months it doesn't suit you then go for something else... but don't dismiss it because some people have too much time on their hands and like to spend it whining over everything on the net. Remember with the Mirena you have a 50/50 chance of having symptoms or not. Take that risk before taking the risk of going on the pill and forgetting to take it or going on depo provera and putting on 20 pounds.
