I have been on Zoloft (150mg) as well as Wellbutrin (300mg) for the last year. I have been on Zoloft for nearly 6 years (for postpartum depression and then ongoing depression) and the wellbutrin was added in by my doctor 2 years ago when the depression symptoms seem to be returning. However, during the last year, I am tired ALL THE TIME - really tired. The kind of tired in which I feel like I can not function. I nap any chance I get (which is difficult because I have four children) and still have no problem falling asleep at night. I have been to the doctor and have had blood tests to see if my exhaustion can be attributed to anything but my test always come back normal. So I am now wondering if my tiredness is a possible Zoloft side-effect... And is it possible for it to be a side effect that surfaced several years into using this drug? I did not feel like this when I first began either of the medications. I also wake up nightly completely soaked with night sweats... another Zoloft side effect. If anyone has any similar experience or advice, I'd love to hear!

I have been on NR for 3 weeks now. My first thought was..."hey this is great, I don't have to remember to take a pill at the same time every day". But just after the first couple of days on NR I noticed that I was VERY moody. I feel constantly depressed and I am always tired. I also feel bloated and I have no drive to have sex with my husband. It sucks because now that I am a stay at home mom, I feel like I am not enjoying the time with my kids like I could be because I am so emotional and unmotivated. I think when it's time to take it out... it's not going back in. It's not worth feeling this way.

I have been on nuvaring for almost three weeks. After reading these posts, I am wondering if this is why I have been feeling so exhausted and unmotivated. It seemed to start three days after I put it in. I could barely enjoy the camping trip I went on. I am turning 41 next month and am on it to help with getting rid of complex ovarian cysts, extreme PMS, and very painful periods. I have not noticed any weight gain or uncomfortable bloating or breat tenderness, which I like. However, I am thinking this might explain why I am totally exhausted. I suffer from chronic pain and notice that I feel worse lately and the last thing I need is more chronic fatigue. I think since I started having chronic pain after a car accident, I have not been able to tolerate BC pills though in the past, I didn't do too badly on Mircette and a couple of other things. Loestrin was the worst ever. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the depression goes away on the Nuvaring?

I have been taking Lisinopril since Jan 07. Since I started taking the medication I have noticed blurred vision along with floaters. My eyes feel as if they have sand paper in them constantly. My stomach is bloated and hurts. My joints and muscles ache constantly. I have had several episodes of confusion. TIRED!, I am tired every day, having to take daily naps. I sleep 8-10 hours at night and wake up exausted! I feel unmotivated because I am tired most of the time. I also have the constant tickle in my throat along with a cough. I woke up the other night coughing so much I left the room so not to disturb my husband.
I am glad I found this site. I might have continued to attribute these side effects to getting older, not quite over the cold I had 3 weeks ago., eyes are bothering me because I work on the computer all day. I never had these symptoms until I began to use the Lisinopril.

I changed jobs and thus switched insurance plans. I had been on diovan for about 2 years with no side effects at all. Now my new insurance will only cover diovan with a pre auth, so I have to try this Lisinopril. I'm on day 4 and I feel horrible. Tired, unmotivated, headache, feels like I'm having a hard time breathing through my nose. This is just really really bad.
and I also need to lose weight, but after reading that some people are actually gaining weight from using it, I'm really scared about that. This really stinks.

Since starting 25mg Toprol XL after having a stent inserted and suffering a mild heart attack during the angioplasty, I have lost all libido and have gained 40 lbs. My ability to jog/run has been diminshed. I also feel depressed, unmotivated and suffer from memory loss and brain "fog."
My question: Do I really need to be on this medication?
Thanks.

I got married in May and started taking Yasmin just before and it has been HELL ever since! It has cost my husband and I money and quite a bit of unnecessary turmoil!
Currently, I'm still on Yasmin and after reading all this am I definitely getting off of it! Everything that I have read is TOO faniliar! My agony includes:
-Insomnia (I was up until 3am last night)
-lathargic all day (very unmotivated and sleepy)
-a VERY low sex drive (my husband just LOVES this one)
-high irritability & mood swings
-frequent dizziness & light headedness
-had my 1st migraine ever (thank GOD I've only had 1)
-mild depression-want to cry all the time (& do) for no reason
-breasts are hard with knots (he loves that too)
-i pee all the time
-back pain in the morning (After sleeping in our guest room for a month, we have actually started shopping around for a new mattress-didn't even cross my mind that it may be the pill)
I'm on my 7th pack and can't wait to get to my doc to switch to something better. Anyway, my question is...for all of you who have already switched...what did you switgh to? Are your side effects less? (Off the pill, my periods are normal, short, and for the most part cramp free (Don't hate me!) My husband and I just want to enjoy being married a little longer before having any little ones!) Any suggestions?

I start taking Adderall, xr about 9 months ago. At first I had the expected side effects, dry month, restlesness, loss of appetite. I felt extremely alert, and much more focused at work. My husband even noticed my attitude was much more calm and relaxed, which made him much more calm and relaxed. So it seemed like it was a miracle drug. Well, here lately I have been feeling more tired and unmotivated than I ever have in my entire life. I have been taking 10 mg since I began, and usually only once a day for only the days I work. I never take it on my days off. So I am not sure if that is the problem. And I am not sure if it is because I need up my mg, but honestly, I feel that it is not worth it in the long run. I am beginning to think my body is reacting because I need more, and I refuse to do that. So my results are worse than when I started 9 months ago. I have decided to stop cold turkey and very concerned about withdrawl effects. But I would rather go through that than the rest of my life be dependant on a medication that is obviously messing with my body.

I had been on Yasmin for the past year and a half. At first when I went on it, I got severe GI upsets, running to the bathroom every 5-10 minutes. Then, my appetite and cravings picked up and now a year and a half later I have gained 15 lbs! My face was swollen, had no energy, very unmotivated to do anything, and a little bit of exercise wore me out! I also had loss of sexual drive! Guess I did not realize all this was happening while I was on it. I went of because of the bloating/weight gain and irregular periods ( I was not having any- just some spotting). I went off this past month and I immediately lost a lot of water weight! I also feel more energetic, and a lot less cravings for junk food! Wow, and my legs are not tingly anymore! What a change so far and it has only been 2 weeks!

After being on liptor for about six weeks I began to feel very depressed and unmotivated and weepy. I had pain in my shoulder and back and left arm and forearm and couldn't sleep at night. I had tingling in both hands. All in all I was miserable. My doctor has since taken me off-only a couple of days off-but already all of the above symptoms have disappeared. I am trying to control my high cholestrol with diet and exercise only. It was only slightly high!

I have been praying for God to reveal to me what exactly is wrong with my son. He has been on Singulair every day for about a year and a half. He used to be a happy, energetic boy with a great sense of humor. For about a year, he has been lethargic, depressed, unmotivated, and grumpy. He doesn't want friends over, doesn't want to go anywhere, has no energy for anything. I thought it may be his sinuses or his ears, since he has had severe allergies, asthma, and ear infections in the past. I even had his sinuses cat-scanned. Nothing. He has commented that he has really weird dreams, and I had NO idea that may correlate to Singulair. He has also indicated pain in his upper right side, as some others have. My son has never been a behavior problem, even on singulair, but I thought maybe his personality was changing for the worse, or that maybe he just needs more sleep than other kids. After a process of elimination, I thought, let's try eliminating Singulair. Within 2 days, my son was joking, playing basketball with his dad, and back to his normal silly self. I am SOO relieved. Even though I just refilled Singulair, it's going in the garbage. Weird how a "harmless" drug could cause so many problems.

Hello all: It's me again, in my last post, i said that i wanted to decrease the dose and try with 0.050 mgs. I just couldn't handle the dark black boredom and depressive moods. So i had to up it back to 0.075 milligrams to feel alive in this planet again, any dose lower than that would make me feel de-realized, unaroused, and unmotivated. but a dose higher than 0.075 mgs, would make me feel too hungry, too nervous and angry (Oh i wanted to say that i am trying to quit smoking, but i cannot stop right now, i feel too bored, too depressed sometimes, so today i will smoke a cigarette, just 1 for the road :-)

I've had just about all of them in the last 6 months. I've taken Yasmin for 2 years. The first year was relatively symptom free. I even lost 15 pounds, that I've been able to keep off the entire time. I bragged about the RX to friends who may be interested and thought it was the miracle pill. I starting taking the pill about 2 years ago to regulate my period and ease PMS symptoms, which it did for over a year.
However, in the last few months, I've had the following symptoms and thought I was just premenopausal
Mood swings
Fogginess, loss of concentration
Not caring about anything
Totally unmotivated
severe stomach pains, cramps bloating
heart palpatations
bladder pain
night sweats
and the most bothersome of all insomia, so bad I started taking Ambien regularly to sleep, which has it's own set of side affects.
I just got off of Yasmin 4 days ago. So I'm now going through the crampting and bloating from doing that. I hope I get back to a semi-normal life style. I work full time and go to school and not being able to concentrate really stinks.

Oh my god! I just called my gyn to put me back on Yasmin because I was on TriNessa (just as evil as Yasmin). About 3 years ago I had my daughter after trying for 8 years to get pregnant (I have PCOS). My periods were irregular and I was concerned about ovarian cancer as my chances are higher due to the PCOS. My gyn suggested yasmin. I took it for about 3 months. During which time I bleed almost constantly. The doc said I needed to give it more time to even out. I started having severe leg cramps and rapid heart rate. One night, I started having really strange chest pains and was vomitting, needless to say I was concerned of a heartattack. My family doc sent me for a stress test to check my heart, it came back ok. I even mentioned to my doc that I was feeling more depressed and that the leg cramps and heart problem seemed to start with taking Yasmin and he just dismissed it!! My heart palpitaitons and leg cramps stopped when I stopped Yasmin but my depression contined with the new prescribed pill TriNessa and even more symptoms occurred such as extreme exhaustion (I can't seem to get enough sleep), unmotivated, antisocial, aggitated, tearful, no sex drive, weight gain, bloated, heavy periods... I just feel horrible and unhappy. So to any one who is getting off Yasmin do not, I repeat do not take TriNessa! Now that I realize that my other symptoms are validated with the use of Yasmin, I'm not going to take that either! Does anyone who has PCOS know of a good BCP to take to regulate your periods without making you insane?

i typ in "what happen if levoxyl does not work" to goo and i was presented with this site. wow! it seems that this does not work for a lot of people. i sleep all the time. i panic and anxiety. my muscles are stiff. i cannot concentrate and when i cried all the time i told my psychiatrist and he called my dr and the dr upped the med then the crying stopped but i am still tired and unmotivated and hurt all over now it is hard to breath in my chest and yesterday my body temp was 35.222 celsius (which is just above what they call hypothermia) my cat meowed into my ear until i gained consciousness and started to move. i cannot go to the er because they are mad when i ask them to check my thyroid. and they do not care. my thyroid was 47 (or 74) las year when i wnt to the hosp and they drugged me with benedryl and kicked me out. i went home and they were on the phone yelling at me "you are critical!!!!" but i didn't understand what they meant.
for me i think the levoxyl is poison.
i think i will go back to armour if you ask your pharmacist they might order it for you. mine did. and be final when i say , "I WILL NOT TAKE THIS LEVOXYL ANYMORE" if my dr won't give me armour thyroid i will find one that will. i am sick and tired of being sick and tired my skin has lost that youthful look and it is one of the side effects of this horrible thing that i am going through.

I've been on Ovcon 35 for 6 weeks now. The first month I had extreme fatigue and lightheadedness. I felt somewhat better when I started the new pack, but now I'm in my 2nd week and I feel fatigued again and unmotivated. There hasn't been significant weight gain, but I feel bloated. I have IBS and I seem to go more regularly on this pill. I will finish the rest of this pack and then try Seasonal.

Thank goodness I found this website!
I have been on Yasmin for almost 3 years now and within the past year and a half I have noticed an extreme difference in my personality. Small things at first, but now things that have gotten so bad they are effecting my work, social life and relationship with my boyfriend.
I have struggled with depression before so when I started to feel sad and unmotivated again I attributed it to that. When I started to have stomach issues, I was told it was IBS (for 22 yrs never had anything wrong with my stomach, mind you). When I gained weight, I figured I wasn't exercising enough. When I started having feelings of anxiety and I started to seclude myself from social and work situations, I went and saw a doctor and was diagnosed with anxiety. And when I noticed I had NO sex drive whatsoever (I'm 25 and that has never been a problem) I went to my gyno who simply said " Well it can't be the birth control, it must be your antidepressant...let's switch that" So we did...it didn't help. I stoppped taking the antidepressant and I still have no libido.
Now that I look back I feel stupid for not putting two and two together but I never would have thought it. All I have ever heard was how "Yasmin was the wonder birth control that had no side-effects"...I'm calling BS on that.
I did call my doctor and ask to switch. When I explained to her why I wanted to she said " Well we never have any complaints with Yasmin" (think I need a new dr?) Anyway, she switched me to Mircette which I am a little unsure of but hey for right now, anything other than Yasmin will do.
My question is...Is there any form of safe birth control that won't have such horrible side-effects? Anyone switched to something they like? Maybe Nuvaring?
In the meantime...I am so glad I'm off....
