I took Zocor for 25 days when I suddenly had such pain at night in my upper arms that I couldn't raise my arms up at all. It's been 2 full weeks since I stopped taking Zocor, and every single night around 7 I develop severe pain somewhere in my body, usually in my hands, knees or feet. It's in a different place almost every night. Tonight it's in my left hand across the whole top of my hand, below the wrist. Can Zocor cause this kind of pain so long after stopping taking it? And I only took it for 25 days! Please help - this really hurts and I hope it will improve.

So glad I found this on the internet. I started taking Niaspan about 6 months ago..500mg at bedtime. I had some flushing, but nothing memorable. I have noticed that I will wake up with my heart beating fast, but I went right back to sleep each time. But, last night, I woke up at 1:30 am on fire..itchy, burning...and burning bad. It covered my face, upper chest, upper arms, buttocks, and the back of my thighs. Like many have said here, it felt like a very bad sunburn. My skin was hot to the touch, and red. I was so shocked and scared, that I almost went to the ER. It lasted for about 20 minutes, but then I got nauseated. I thought I was having a heart attack. I barely sleep all morning. I decided to search the internet, and found your posts. Thank you! I suspected it might be my niaspan, but then it could of been shingles or some heart problems. Know I have my answer. I'm calling my doctor first thing tomorrow. No more for me.

I have been taking Diovan not Diovan HTC for about a year. Recently I have noticed pain in both of my shoulders and in the joint of one finger. I also experienced very significant pain in my left wrist that seemed to come out of the blue. One of my hobbies is archery but the pain in my shoulders and upper arms does not allow me to enjoy this hobby. I simply cannot draw my bow without pain. I also cannot throw a ball with any authority without pain. I am a 65 year old mail and have never had any trouble like this until Diovan. I plan to stop taking it for a couple of weeks to see what changes I notice and will report back.

I have been on Synthroid for 12 weeks now. I have been experience extreme leg pain and knee pain on one side. Now my ankles ache in the morning and my elbow is starting to hurt. My doctor thinks there is no relationship of the synthroid and my joint pain.

I took Levaquin for 3 days. On the 2nd day, I had trouble lifting my right arm but, at first, I did not associate the problem with Levaquin. On the evening of the 3rd day, I could not use my arms at all. I couldn't dress myself or comb my hair. I could not raise my arms because of severe pain.

I stopped taking the Levaquin and went to the doctor. She scoffed at the idea that Levaquin could have cause my problem. I saw another doctor (more scoffing) and she said I have fibromyalgia. I do not. I am absolutely fine except for my shoulders and upper arms.

I am a 60 year old female who has never had any problems like this. I believe the Levaquin was the cause, especially after I looked up side effects on the 'net, 3 days after starting the drug. After 6 weeks, I am still struggling. I can raise my arms but the pain is intense at night. I have hope that I will recover.

I just returned from seeing a hematologist for bruising and bleeding under and through the skin of my forearms. Luckily, it is not a bleeding problem, but a dermatological condition known as "cutaneous atrophy". I read on this website that is a side effect of the kenalog injections.

I've been getting the injections in both my knees for the past year (shots every four months). The injections help the pain in my knees, but I think I will just take darvocet for the pain and tell my rheumotologist that I do not want any more of these injections. I've also experienced the excessive sweating around my neck and upper back, not knowing why. Scary side effects.

I left a comment 3-4 guests down regarding female hair loss and muscle aches. My shoulders and upper arms hurt-- to the person who commented on shoulder aches. If I push on my upper arms (outer side), it feels as if I am bruised....but I am not bruised, and I have done nothing to hurt myself. I want to quit this medicine!

Originally diagnosed with PMR and was taking prednisone in high doses for 2 years with ok results, except that as I lowered the mg of prednisone the PMR symptoms returned. New doctor diagnosed RA instead and put me on Remicade. After 4 infusions I am having severe muscle pain in my upper right leg. And on occasion the beginning of the same problem in my upper left leg. Affectsmy mobility and I am taking large doses of tylinol & motrin for the pain. Doctor says this is not a side effect of the Remicade. At first I believed him, but now am having doubts. Anyone else have this side effect?

I was given Sulfameth along w/ Flagyl for what my Dr. thought was diverticulitis. The pain (diverticulitis) went away by the fourth day of meds but on the fifth day I had other things going on. I thought I had the flu. I kept getting extremely hot (but didn't have a fever), then cold chills. My lower back ached terrible along w/ a major headache and I had never been so nausious in my life w/o vomitting. I couldn't even look at food or even sip water w/o feeling extremely ill. I was constipated as well. I kept making excuses for it all saying I must have the flu instead of suspecting the drugs I was on. On the 8th day I returned to the doctor and by now I was completely broke out and my face, ears and back of my upper arms felt like they were on fire. He knew immediately that it was a reaction to this drug! He advised me to stop taking both meds I was prescribed but didn't offer me any options for relief from the burning. I found spraying Solarcaine on my arms helped alot. I feel for everyone who has ever experienced this type or any type of reaction and for those who haven't...may you never have to.

Has anyone experienced itching of the face, neck, upper arms, and chest area? I've been on 10mg since February but have just stopped taking it this week. I'm also fatigued and have joint pain.

I am not sure if this is a side effect from wearing the capsicum patch or not, but it happens when I wear it. My legs sort of go numb and feel like they are not there and I wear it on my upper arms. It takes a couple of days for this feeling to go away.

severe itching in the scalp, around the ears. Breakouts of what looks like psoriasis on both elbows. Itchy, sore popups on the upper arms. The red pop=up remains after the initial itching subsides.

I have been taking Guaifenex on and off for a week--wondered why my heart was racing, breathing problems/heavy chest feeling, temperature fluctuates from normal to 97 degrees, have rash on upper arms and chest after getting out in the sun, feel "foggy" headed, tired. Glad I found this site. Will definitely not take this again.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that one bad side effect for me was tremor. I thought I was getting some disease it was so bad. Now off Zocor, tremor has gone expect when I get a flare up of muscle back in upper arms and shoulders. I have sore spots on arms, almost like bruises but not. Anyway, I wish I could talk to you all.
